~This is a story I wrote 5 years ago when I was 11 lol. I am 16 now and I have come a long way. I had to edit it but I didn't too much cause I didn't want to change this memory. I was very passionate about this so I hope you guys enjoy!~

 This story is told from the eyes of a young reporter in the making. She tells the story of a young boy named Jack. Who gets a phone for his birthday. Jack was bullied in school for being the only kid who did not possess a phone, or any "cool" clothes. So he decides to change his whole personality after he receives a phone for his birthday. Readers will join young reporter, Cassandra Blacksmith, as we watch Jack go down a road of, peer pressure, bad decisions, and a tragedy that sends a lesson to all around them.

The killer phone

The next morning Mary and her husband Luis helped Jack configure his phone and set it up. It took them about thirty minutes but they figured it out. After breakfast, Jack's friend Sutton, who is 16, drove him to school. Jack couldn't wait to flash his new phone to the kids in school. Of course, they were surprised the wimp had a phone, they were even surprised to see that it was only a year old. But that didn't stop them from picking on him. 


    So, of course, Jack decided that a new phone means a new look and attitude. So after school, he and his friends went to the mall to spice up his look.


   He got some baggy jeans, tons of cool button-ups and t-shirts. Ripped jean jacket and cool shoes. Jack paid for the stuff and went straight home to work on his attitude, so he practiced his walk, his talk, the way he smiled and realized that it all needed fixing. So he went on his phone and looked up how to be cool. He spent the rest of his day strutting and practicing how to be cool.


When he got up the next morning he showered quickly, rubbed on some old spice, shaved and styled his hair to look like harry styles (his favorite singer), and dressed. He put on his baggy leather jeans with a loose white t-shirt that read "too cool for school". Then slipped on his leather jacket his aunt Lucy got him. He put on his new shoes and strutted downstairs, everyone oohed and aahed. 


    Which made him bashful, but cool kids don't get bashful so he pushed it away and sat down for breakfast. Biscuits, grits, eggs and gravy, sizzling bacon and sausage, and delicious pork belly. Jack loaded up and ate at his will, cause a cool kid like him needs to get big. When he heard Sutton beep his horn he didn't run out like a little kid no, he walked out the house like he owned the place!" Whoa looking good little dude!" Sutton shot a thumbs up as Jack did a spin move finish.


 " The kids at school won't know what hit them!" Jack said as he sat back and flashed a beautiful grin that would cause a stampede! The drive to school was short but soothing when they approached eyes fell on Jack like he was a superstar. The mumbling began 'is that the wimp', 'Where did he get that cool jacket?' 'whoa, he has a phone?' the walk to the entrance was full of gossip. Jack made the talk of the school! Everyone had something to say about the now coolest guy in school!


  Jack even got special treatment, the lunch ladies gave him TWO slices of pizza, the girls did his homework, the principal didn't even fuss when he was in the hall with no pass!  Jack was shocked but didn't show it, after all, cool guys like him didn't have feelings. But really? All it took was a new look and a Smartphone? Jack did feel like it was all fake because this was an act, this wasn't the real him. All he did was ask for a phone and he changed. But after a day or two, the feeling wore off. He was popular!
