~This is a story I wrote 5 years ago when I was 11 lol. I am 16 now and I have come a long way. I had to edit it but I didn't too much cause I didn't want to change this memory. I was very passionate about this so I hope you guys enjoy!~

 This story is told from the eyes of a young reporter in the making. She tells the story of a young boy named Jack. Who gets a phone for his birthday. Jack was bullied in school for being the only kid who did not possess a phone, or any "cool" clothes. So he decides to change his whole personality after he receives a phone for his birthday. Readers will join young reporter, Cassandra Blacksmith, as we watch Jack go down a road of, peer pressure, bad decisions, and a tragedy that sends a lesson to all around them.

The killer phone

Two days later Jack was walking home from an errand. As he slipped the key into the lock, the door flew open and everyone screamed, "SURPRISE!" Jack was surprised, he jumped 2 feet high and screamed! Which made everyone laugh like crazy. Jack's friends were here, so were his uncles, aunts, grandma, and grandpa.


   Mary walked over and hugged Jack and said happy birthday before you know it the cha-cha line began! The birthday was great, the pizza was yummy, and the cake was sweet! Now it was present time Jack was so excited to open all his presents so he decided to start with the biggest one it, was from his grandmother inside of the present was a brand new 3D printer for his room. "AW man grandmas thank you so much!" Jack exclaimed, his grandmother only laughed and said your welcome sugar. 


     Jack continued to open his presents, his uncle got him a fishing rod, and his dad got him a ton of bait and hooks.


His sisters made him a giant poster decorated with finger paint and his name written wobbly across the middle of the paper. His aunt Lucy got him a new leather coat, and his aunt Carol got him a blessed native necklace. Fred got him the new spiderman limited edition comic book.


   "Aw Fred this is crazy! Thank you so much!" Jack only had three more presents left, one from his friend Sutton, one from his grandfather, and one from his uncle Joe. Sutton got him a super Mario game collection, His uncle Joe got him a giant rocket to build, and his grandfather got him a fishing rod and bait set. 


   Jack was just finishing up thanking everyone for his wonderful gifts when his mother walked in with a small box.


"You didn't think I wasn't gonna give you something' did you?" She smiled and handed him the box. Jack looked at his mother and smiled then ripped the box open carefully.


   When he finished he did not look up for a long time. About 10 minutes later his mother asked if it was what he wanted, he looked up with tears in his eyes and screamed yes and hugged his mom for a long time. In that little box was a smartphone, not new, but Jack didn't care, because he got his first phone. Jack and his family and friends continued to party all night.
