I’m Getting Dumped

"I have a question to ask you."

Lu Chenjun shortened the situation and explained it to Grandpa Li.

"What do I do now?"

On the other end of the phone, Grandpa Li laughed at Lu Chenjun's ignorance.

"Child, you took a wrong step today. For this, I completely side with the girl you are talking about. Why did you investigate her? There is something called personal privacy. No one likes it when someone invades their privacy. You already took the wrong step, so now you can't go back.

Grandpa Li thought for a moment before saying, "My recommendation for you is to take her out for lunch or bring her somewhere tomorrow. Based on what you said, she was in a bad mood today. Hopefully, she will feel better tomorrow. Apologize to her, but don't talk to her about her family anymore. Do not investigate her any further if you want to improve your relationship. Try discussing the idea of living together with her. Develop the trust first. Once she trusts you, she will tell you herself. Understand?"

Lu Chenjun nodded and hung up the phone. This was definitely harder than reading through a plan or signing a contract. He put down his phone and decided to focus on his work.

Back in Elena's apartment, Elena was pacing around nervously, while Mila was watching her.

"Why don't you just call him if you're so scared?"

After Lu Chenjun had left for about 30 minutes, Elena finally came to her senses. She was the type of person that forgot about grudges easily and didn't stay sad for a long time. Through the years, she had learned to not think too much about what had already happened. Instead, it was important to look to the future and just live each day well.

"I'm scared to call him. He's definitely not going to pick up. I shouldn't have been so rude. He's definitely going to break up with me now."

Mila looked up at Elena weirdly. "Why do you care about whether you're going to break up or not? Don't tell me you like him."

Elena frowned at Mila, "Of course I don't like him. Who would like someone so paranoid and controlling like him? I only dated him so he could help me in the entertainment industry. I haven't even gotten any benefits yet and we are already breaking up. I'm the one at a loss here, okay?

Mila rolled her eyes and stood up to leave, "Then just text him."

Elena immediately pinned Mila back down onto the couch.

"Good idea. Help me with what to say."

Mila opened her eyes in shock and gaped at Elena.

"How would I know? I want to go to sleep. Figure this out yourself."

Elena watched as Mila stomped into her room and shut the door. Elena sat down on the couch and opened her messages.

'I'm sorry for having a bad attitude today.'

Elena immediately deleted the typing. That was too direct.

She thought for a moment, before typing out, 'Hello Chenjun. I apologize for having a bad attitude earlier today. Please forgive me. I was just kind of stressed today, nothing else.'

She read the message over and over again before clicking send. She closed her eyes and clasped her hands together, praying for Lu Chenjun to forgive her. How could they just break up like this? She hadn't even used Lu Chenjun yet. Her position in the entertainment industry was still weak and unstable.

She felt her phone vibrate on her lap, and she immediately picked it up.

'I am sorry too. I shouldn't have broken rule number 4. Come find me at the front lobby of my company tomorrow at 12 P.M. I have something important to discuss with you.'

Elena's eyes widened open and she barged into Mila's room.

"Mila! I'm getting dumped."

Mila came out of the bathroom and stared at Elena, who was rolling around on her bed.

"Get off my bed. What do you mean you're getting dumped?"

Elena looked up at Mila and pouted, "Look at this message. He says he has something important to discuss with me. It has almost been two weeks. Didn't you say he breaks up with everyone in two weeks or less."

Mila read the message and shook her head.

"Elena, it's official. You're getting dumped. You're right. He never dates the same girl for over two weeks. I bet you he's breaking up with you tomorrow. You should have used your time wisely. All you got was a car and 70,000 yuan that you didn't even keep for yourself. What a waste. I heard from several gossip sites that Lu Chenjun once bought a whole house for one of his girlfriends, and even gave one million yuan to another girlfriend. You really suck, Elena."

Mila shook her head and looked pitifully at Elena.

Elena frowned and pushed Mila onto her bed, "Thanks a lot. You made me feel so much better."

Elena rolled her eyes and left. She entered her own room and opened the lights.

Why did she feel kind of sad? It's probably because Lu Chenjun was her first love. Her first love didn't even last two weeks, and it's already ending. She stood up confidently and decided on one thing.

Sure, Lu Chenjun could break up with her. However, she shouldn't act sad. Or else Lu Chenjun would just look down on her. She had to act like she already wanted to break up and that she already knew Lu Chenjun would break up with her.

She washed her face and went to bed. Part of her was sad that she didn't receive as many benefits as she thought she would by dating Lu Chenjun. The other part of her was genuinely sad.

She definitely knew that she didn't like Lu Chenjun. However, he was her first "love". She wiped this thought away from her mind. Since the very beginning, she knew that this would be how their relationship would end. This might just be a good thing. At least she didn't have to make lunch for him anymore, and also didn't have to work extra hard to make him happy.

She closed her eyes and slowly fell asleep.

The next morning, Elena woke up a little later than usual. She woke up at 10 A.M. and skipped breakfast. She spent her entire morning in the bathroom and in her closet.

Her first breakup had to be well-prepared. She couldn't look sloppy. She put together a cute and sexy outfit and spent extra time on her makeup. By the time she was ready, it was already 11:45.

Mila was still sleeping, and Elena didn't bother to wake her up. She quietly picked up the car keys and left.

She drove slowly as she didn't really care if she was late or not. She assumed that Lu Chenjun would probably be late again.

Elena entered the front lobby of the LIQuan Company building at 12:02 P.M. Just as she walked in through the front door, Lu Chenjun and Fang Shi walked out of the elevator.

Elena waved at him, who didn't wave back.

Without even looking at her, he walked towards the front door and said, "Let's go."
