The New World.

I awoke startled as I felt I was falling to the ground.

I opened my eyes with great difficulty due to the wind pressure on my face, only to be met with a scene of the ground becoming ever closer to me as I fell from the sky.

I glanced around me to find familiar faces of my family and friends as they screamed, plummeting towards the planet below us. I was quite startled at first but as we passed the 1 kilometre mark we began to slow our descent so I took in my surroundings.

There was a large body of water towards the east, it wasn't a sea as I could see both sides of it from where I was so that was good. Towards the west were very tall and imposing mountains which gave off an ominous feel even from this far away. Towards the north was a very large forest, so large that I could not see the end of it even from my extremely high vantage point in the sky.

The most important of my observations though was the group of buildings towards the south which looked like a large town or small city. Although none of the buildings were above four floors and were made from stone chunks and wooden beams.

It looked to be around 6-8 kilometres from where we were dropping, so we had quite the trek of we decided we wanted to go there.

I took about 3 minutes for us to reach the ground, we stopped about a metre up then dropped to the floor.

Everyone immediately grouped up in a circle with my dad, my youngest brother and most of the girls in the middle. The outer circle consisted of me, my brother Cole, Zeno, Prince, Lily, Jamie, my uncle Lee and Zeno's dad Pete.

We all held our weapons and scanned our surroundings vigilantly, the cost was clear for now.

We didn't relax however as we had no idea what was lurking in the forest surrounding us. My dad started to order every one to head towards the south as he had also saw the small city placed there.

We moved in a sort of arrow formation with Zeno at the front with a mace and shield in hand, Pete and Lee were on either side of him and Prince and Cole were to the side of them.

Zeno, Pete and Lee all had some variation of a shield so they spearheaded the formation whilst Cole and Prince used a two handed sword and dual daggers respectively.

I was stood just behind them with Lily to my left, we both held bows in our hands with an arrow placed on the string at the ready. Behind us was every one else with the children in the centre and the adults on the outside, my dad was bringing up the rear.

We hadn't even been walking for a minute when something jumped out towards Zeno at the front. It hadn't even hit the floor after it jumped when I shot an arrow through its eye. My arrow was closely followed by another that entered directly through the beast's skull, it was Lily's.

I got a notification as the boar disappeared and dropped some items which startled us. It disappeared, scattering into particles leaving behind a brown bundle and a copper coin.

Zeno walked forward and picked them up before handing them to me, I unwrapped the package and found a joint of meat inside. I put it inside my storage ring, which was almost completely filled, before using my [Observation] skill on the coin.

I slipped it into one of the pouches on my waist before we continued on our journey.

We continued walking towards the city whilst killing any beasts we came across. I killed 8 more beasts while Lily killed 4 and Zeno killed 2, they were all Basic Boars and dropped the exact same thing.

We stored all the meat in one of the leather sacks that some of us were wearing. It seemed that if you weren't carrying at least two large bags then you didn't get the option to pick a storage ring.

We had travelled around 3 kilometres and it had started to get dark, so we decided to make camp beside a very large fallen tree.

It would have taken at least three adult males to hold hands in order to wrap around the circumference of the trunk, it was a big tree. We gathered some logs and made make shift A-frames up against the upturned roots of the tree.

I was pondering on weather or not to make a fire when I noticed Cole had already made a small pyramid of sticks and was pointing his sword into the middle of it.

I walked over to him to ask what he was doing. As I got within 2 metres of him his sword suddenly caught fire out of no where and set the pile of logs alight.

It surprised me for a moment at first but I soon came to realise that this must be one of his skills.

" Hey Cole that's pretty cool, what's it called?" I asked as the fire engulfing his sword died down to a light glow.

" It's called Flaming Blade, it's my chosen intermediate skill. Pretty awesome right? It deals double damage for as long as I supply it with M/P. " He said whilst giving the sword a swing and letting out an intense wave of heat before stopping the skill and putting his sword into its scabbard.

I nodded and smiled at him before turning around and calling everyone over. We got into a circle formation before I started talking.

" Okay I need to know about everyone's status screen so I can form appropriate teams for hunting and keeping watch. So start we'll start from me then head clockwise okay? And remember to be vigilant, we are not safe so watch your segments." I stated before introducing my status to everyone.

" Okay I'm a ranger with an affinity for the Ice element, which is comprised of both Wind and Water elements. " I said before looking towards Zeno who stood to my left.

" I'm a shielder with an affinity for the Earth element." he said with a smile on his face before charging forward an stabbing an approaching Basic Boar in the throat.

Cole came next he said "Swordsman with a Fire element affinity."

We carried on going around the circle whilst taking out any beast unlucky enough to stumble into our camp.

In total we had Zeno, Pete, Lee and my dad Robert as shielders with Earth, Wind, Earth and Wood attributes respectively. Followed by Cole, Logan and my cousin Blake as swordsmen, all with the Fire element. Me, Lily and Ange my aunt were all rangers with Ice, Lightening and Wind attributes, the Lightening element consisted of both the Light and Fire elements. Prince and his entire family, being his mum, dad and sister had the Dark element and were all of the rogue class which was a tad strange, Zeno's brother Arron was also of the rogue class but he had the Wind element. Sam, Jamie, Evie, Zeno's brother Jack and Zeno's mum Jane all had the mage class with the Fire, Wood, Light, Dark and Earth elements. And finally Allyssa, my cousin Brooke, and Sharon all had the support class which was quite a free class, they had the Wood, Light and Dark elements. Klay, my youngest brother and my youngest cousin Bethany both didn't have any element or class, I figured they were too young to have received one as of yet so exempted them from the groups.

It seemed that dual elements were quite rare considering only me and Lily had them. I asked everyone what they wanted to do and was met with a mix of replies.

Most of them didn't want to have to go out to fight and hunt so they would remain at the base, the rest of us however were split into two teams.

These teams consisted of : A shielder, a ranger, a support, a mage and 2 melee fighters. Team one was made up of me, Zeno, Brooke, Cole, Prince and Jack. And team Two consisted of my dad, Lily, Allyssa, Jamie, Arron and Prince's sister Pretty.

We decided that team 1 would be on first watch through rock-paper-scissors, which I won. I decided on first watch as, although I could be up and awake at a moments notice, I really did not like to be awoken mid-sleep.
