When I come home from picking fresh blueberries from the blueberry field down the road, I find my grandmother crying in the kitchen. She never cries, what is wrong?
"Grams, what is wrong?" I ask in confused and worried. She turns around when she hears my voice. Her eyes are frighten by something.
"You have to leave." She says.
"I just got home. Why?" I'm scared. She's freaking me out.
"Leave. You have to leave. There coming for you." She walks towards me and gives me this little slip of paper and some money.
"You have to go to your fathers. Here is his address and number. They money is to get you there. GO!" She shouts. She's pushing me out the door. I turn around and tell her, "You know I can't go to my fathers house."
"He knows your coming you have to go no-" We both here a crash then following it was a growl. It was not like a normal growl, it was louder and more frighting.
"You have to go now!" She pushes me out the door, then throws me her car keys.
"Gram what was that?!" I ask terrified.
"GO!" She shouts then shuts the door. I run to the car in the front of the yard. My heart is racing so bad that I felt like I was going to pass out.
I pull out the slip of paper and unfold it. I find my fathers address and his number. I pull out my my phone and call him.
After two rings he answers.
"Hey dad, um, do you know that im coming?" I asked. My heart started to slow down a little.
"Yeah" he replied.
"Well tha-". I hear a big boom then turn around and look through the window and see the house is on fire! I jump out of the car and run towards the house.
"GRAM!" I run closer to the house and get a wind of fire warmth in my face. "GRAM!"
I started crying. More like sobbing or balling.
"Gram." I drop down on the grass because I can't hold up myself up anymore.
My gram has always been there for me. She never left when I needed her. When my mom died she took me in. She never told me how she died because it pained her. My father never really loved me. He hated the idea of having children, but my mom wanted lots of them. She loved being around kids. She worked at a Elementary School. She was a math teacher. She was the best mom that you could ever want. My family was the best, except my father. And he's the only family I have left.
I got up off of the ground and went to the car. I put the keys in and before I left called the Fire Department. I waited until I herd the sirens before I left. Once they came closer I left. I was going to my father's house.
