In Love with a Shapeshifter (part 7)

"This smells good." I say going to the table.

"Thanks pumpkin," Diana said sitting at the table," come,come eat. Stuff yourself."

"Well thanks." I sit at the table and pile my plate up. The food was amazing. I never had food like this before.

When we were all done eating, I helped them clean up and we all got ready for bed.

They were all worried about Blyth. She hasn't came home yet. I know she never really went to the dentist or doctors. They would never be open that long.

I went up stairs and pretended to fall asleep. I got into bed and closed my eyes and waited until the house was completely silent to get up and leave to go to the shed.

I get up and quietly go down stairs. Then i snuck out the house to the shed. When I open the shed I find Evan under the blankets and looks like he was sleeping. But no, his eyes were just closed.

"I thought you would of never came." He sat up.

"Well I'm here." I close the shed and sit down next to him. He gives me some of his blanket.

"So, where do we start." I ask

"How about we start by getting some food, I'm starving."

"Oh, I'm sorry I forgot about you eating."

"Oh well that's nice." He smiled.

"I didn't mean it in that way." I pushed him playfully.

"Come on, let's go get us something to eat." He stood up and started to leave the shed.

"Wait!, where are we going?" I panicked. He can't come into my house.

"To get something to eat." He turned around and waited for me.

"But where?" I asked.

"McDonald's." He simply put it.

"That's like a mile away." I say coming up beside him.

"That's OK. I can carry you if your feet get tired." We started walking.

"Well thanks. That's nice to know."

As we walked, the air started to get colder. I was getting chills everywhere.

"You cold?" He asked.

"Yeah kinda, but I'm fine." I said

"Here." He gave me his jacket that he was wearing. If I knew were going to McDonald's I would of brought a coat.

I started to stop shivering after he gave me the jacket. His warmth was extreme.

We walked and walked. We finally made it to McDonald's and went inside.

"Do you want anything?" He asked.

"Um,no I'm good."

"Your getting something, anything you want."

"Fine. I'll take a small fry."

"Make that large." He said smiling.

"What! I can't eat all of that."

"We can share."

"OK. Cool."

As the person came up to take our order, Evan seemed to know him.

"Hey, I haven't seen you for a while bro." Said the person.

"You to man." Replied Evan.

"What do you want. I'll pay for it myself."

"Are you sure?" Asked Evan.

"Yeah man."

"Oh good, I didn't bring money anyway." Evan laughed.

The person turned and looked at me.

"Who is this?" He asked

"Oh this is Karla. Karla this is Mike. He's a bit werid, and very loud. But you get use to it"

"Nice to meet you." I say.

"Nice to meet you too," Says Mike,"So what is it that you guys need?"

"Um, well have a large fry and a 20 piece McNuggets."

"Come right up." Then he left into the kitchen.

We both sat down at a booth and  waited for our food.

"So were do you know him from?" I ask

"Oh, I know him from school when I went to fit in with the others. Then I quit school. "

"Oh,cool. Does he know that you are a Shapeshifter?" I whispered.

"No," He answers," I don't think he's ready to know."

"Oh." Was all I said then our can out. It smelled delicious as usual.

Mike came out and gave it to us.

"Thanks Mike." I say grabbing a french fry.

"Yup. I'm the only one working here, so ya." He sat down next to Evan.

"So what brings you guys here?" He asked.

"Hunger." Said Evan.

"I'm not that hungry.  So I decided to come here with Evan." I said.

"Cool." Mike was nodding for some reason.

We ate and talked to each other for a while. Then we had to go because I was getting tried and because my dad would kill me if they found out I was gone. But we didn't tell Mike the second reason.

"See ya Mike." I waved.

"See ya soon too." He waved to us as we left.

As we walked home it was getting a little warmer.

"He's cool." I said randomly.

"Yeah, he is." Evan said.

"So, when we get to my house are you going to bed?" I asked.

"Ya, I guess so."

"I'm going to have to go to school. Can you please come with me."

"I don't know. I'll think about it."

"OK. In the morning it better be a yes."

He smiled. I smiled back.

When we got home I said goodnight to Evan and went upper stairs. When I was about to get into bed. I found Blyth sneaking into her room quickly. Where was she really at.

I crawled back into bed, and fell quietly asleep.
