Kira Wú

"GET OUT!"

"NOOOO" Amara bellowed.

"INAAAAAA"

"Ateee" She whined while stomping out of my room, knowing not to take her chances with Mom. I chuckled once. Amara, my younger sister, was SUCH a pain sometimes. Am I not allowed to have some quiet for 30 minutes? I remember asking, no not asking, but downright BEGGING to get a lock on my door.

"Ina, can I please get a lock on my door?"

"Why would you ever need a lock Kira?"

"Ughhh, because I want privacy, quiet, peace, and time away from Amara without her barging in all day? Plus, Ian has a lock on his door!"

"Kira, you need to learn to love your sister. She loves you and wants to be with you."

"You mean by pulling out my hair and screaming in my ear?" I had the urge to roll my eyes, but there were lots of risks in doing that. Tiger mom."And Ian is the only boy except for papi, and he should get his privacy."

"I'm a girl Ina! I need more privacy than him! Mommy you have 3 younger siblings! Didn't you have a lock on your door?"

My mom sighed. "No. I shared a room with my other sisters. Try to appreciate the fact that you have your own room." Her faint accent pulled at her words more than normal, as it always had when she was tired. I huffed in defeat and stomped away.

I studied myself in the mirror. I looked like mom, but with too much hints of dad in me to be as gorgeous as her. She has beautiful shoulder length brown hair that shimmered in the sunlight, which I inherited, minus the shimmer. My hair was a long bob though. I also inherited her oval face, with full black eyelashes that caressed her cheeks when she looked down. I had her eyelashes too. We both had brown skin. Her big perfect eyes looked like they had hints of gold mixed with the dark brown of them. Her eyebrows were defined, while mine weren't as sharp. She was also extremely graceful, something that had definitely not passed on to me. I could barely walk across a room with a smooth floor without finding something to stumble on, usually my own feet. I was pretty, just not at all compared to mom. The guys in my school watched me when I passed them. My sister looked like my dad, with light brown hair and hazelnut eyes but she had graceful strides. My brother was tall and lean. He was a mix of both my mom and dad, and he passed off as handsome, according to all the girls at our school. He was a year older than me, so he was a Senior. I sighed and jumped on my bed, feeling oddly tired. The next thing I knew, I was asleep.

I woke up at 6, groaning while I rolled out of my bed. I felt like a zombie. I brushed my teeth and followed the scent of sinigang. My family was just about to eat dinner. I grabbed a bowl and poured some of the soup. I grabbed some rice and sat down to dig in. "Mhhhh" My mom made hands down the BEST sinigang ever. I listened to my mom talk about her day at the hospital, and how busy it was today. It was expected of me to work in the medical field, but that wasn't in my best interest. I went along with my family's wishes, thought, because I try to avoid the spotlight at all costs. Even if it means I have to be something I don't want to. I quickly finished my food. After dinner we watched a movie and I went to bed feeling good.
