Investigating

Before heading to the city, Lilith returned to me and reported that she's done informing Renn, Julian, and Regan about me going out. Lilith also told me that they want me to be careful, and they wish that I'll return safely. I smiled at the thought.

I told Lilith to return to another world, and I begin my journey with Callisto to the city.

Callisto created a black coat out of his smoke for me to use, and use hypnosis on me that'll make people unaware of my existence. They will still be able to see me, but they won't remember how I looked like, my identity, and so on.

In other words, people would feel déjà vu whenever they see me.

Callisto also helped me teleport to the city since it's far from the school. My mood is ruined because of Arden's kidnapping, Io's disappearance, and that coward demon. But the scenery of the city slightly brought my mood up.

Only a little.

The kids were running around with toys on their hands, people clapping at a street show, and sellers trying to get customers to buy their stuff. This is the first time I've been in the city up close. It's too bad that I have to experience this in the middle of a crisis.

"So, where's the motel?"

Callisto, who's in his visible mode, yawned beside me as we wandered on the busy road.

"..." I blinked in realization.

"... Seriously?" Callisto asked sarcastically.

"I forgot to ask the name of the motel," I groaned.

"There's like, a lot of motel in this city, clumsy master," Callisto scoffed.

I glared at him and pouted my lips. "Shut up. I'm in a hurry, plus that demon is getting on my nerves. Can't you do something about it?"

"Ugh, you're treating me like a dog," Callisto sighed.

I grinned. "You are my dog,"

Callisto glared tiredly. He then shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not a dog. I can't smell Arden's scent or something like that. I'm not that type of demon, remember?"

That's right. There are different types of demons. Io and Callisto, they're more of a fighter. I need an animal-like demon, a scout.

"Do I have a canine demon?" I asked Callisto curiously.

"... You're the master, how come you don't remember?"

"There are too many demons, okay?" I defended myself. But then again, I just use that as an excuse since I'm very forgetful. For the past three years, I've been collecting demons and forgot half of how they looked like. Or their names.

"There's a hellhound in the army,"

"!"

A hellhound? And I don't remember having it?

"Woah, what's the name?" I asked.

"I still can't believe you're my master," Callisto replied dryly. "How should I know? you gave the dog's name,"

Sh*t he's right.

I looked around, trying to find a small alley. When I did, I grabbed Callisto's wrist and dragged him to the empty alleyway. We walked further down to avoid the crowd.

"Lilith,"

"Yes, young master," Lilith looked happy that she got summoned often by me. She smiled happily, twitching her pointy ears.

"Do you know the name of one of the hellhounds in the army?" I asked.

"A hellhound," Lilith mumbled, trying to remember. "Hmm, I remembered you named a high-ranked hellhound by the name of Doggy,"

"..."

"..."

Callisto's judging eyes caused me to blush.

I can't believe I named a high-ranked demon Doggy.

And I don't even remember.
