Idol Concert

The fated day has come! Not really, Akane wasn't really nervous at all at the prospect of performing in front of thousands of people.

This was a different thing for Kameko and Hoshi though, Kameko still was able to control herself, but Hoshi was a trembling mess that seemed to lose it at any moment.

"Hoshi, we practice our steps so many times, you can't be nervous now of all times! Being nervous is just a big red flag for failing, so calm down! You are a great singer, dancer and a very cute girl! You don't have a reason to be nervous."

Hoshi just glared at Akane, she snapped and lashed out at her leader. She threw a punch at her, but Akane just stepped into her range, completely unexpected for the girl, because now her fist reached the place right behind Akanes head. But despite that Hoshi is still angry.

"Oh, you have it well! You are Seigi Akane, the famous music prodigy, of course you aren't nervous you already performed on a world stage! You are a famous prodigy, capable of creating your own pieces, you own story, but what can I say? I am just a normal girl that is just a bit better than average, but you! YOU! You are a girl that is great, you are a girl that kept moving on, that kept on persevering. Despite being disabled in two ways you kept on going! What am I compared to Seigi Akane! Compared to you I am just a person that leeched off of you for my career, someone that just was a pebble in your way to get you to even greater heights! I am just a side figure in your life, aren't I? You probably could have pulled a success with anyone. I am just a replaceable member!"

Silence, absolute silence, the show didn't even start yet and Hoshi was already at her limit, everyone knew that if this continued to go this way the show isn't going to be a success. The tension was high and everyone was unnerved by the atmosphere.

Even Hoshi regretted what she just said now, she compared herself to Akane, the girl that kept on going, despite the obvious harsh reality a quirkless and a blind girl would get from society. Hoshi looked at Akane, at trail of blood flowed out of the corner of her mouth, she bit open her lip.

Hoshi was scared, she didn't know why, Akane wasn't radiating anything, she wasn't sad, angry, furious, or even apathetic. She just stood there silently, looking at the girl.

"You done with your rant?"

Akane lifted her hand high up, Hoshi flinched away, scared from the slap that was about to come her way. She stood their silently, awaiting the pain, but it never came, she opened her eyes again, seeing a pair of emerald eyes and a calm and collected smile.

Akane gave the older girl some head pats.

"I am going to be perfectly straight with you, Hoshi. I don't really know how you feel, not because I am more talented than you or anything and I can't relate to you on any level, but because I never envied someone. I think I couldn't even feel envy if I wanted too, I mean what is the point in feeling envy? Being jealous of something someone else had? You know, before I was being adopted, I always was made fun off. I was the blind girl, so I was an easy target for bullying, I tried too hard, tried to make them like me, but it was obvious that this was more counterproductive than everything."

Akane gripped her wrists before she released them again with a sigh.

"I am sorry, I understand that this isn't about me, but about you. You are the one that is nervous, not me. You don't need to hear about my rambling how miserable my life was. Hoshi tell me about your worries, I am going to listen to them. You don't need to worry. I am here for you after all."

Hoshi didn't know what to say, she felt like she didn't deserve to burst out in an emotional outrage with a girl like Akane standing in front of her. She felt ashamed, she felt ashamed of what she said.

Akane waited for Hoshi to say something, she knew how the girl felt, but she knew that she shouldn't interfere directly. Hoshi needed to work out her feelings herself, this wasn't a process someone should interfere in.

But as nothing came after five minutes and the show had to start Akane decided to distract the girl.

"Hoshi, you are nervous, right?"

The girl nodded, seeing her reply Akane decided to take her necklace out, it was a pendant with a heart shape on it.

"Hoshi, this is my lucky charm that I wore since I was six. I think you need this more than me at this moment, so take it."

The girl looked at the golden jewelry, it looked like it was worth very much.

"Akane, I can't take that..."

Akane just put it in Hoshis palms and closed them, before she walked up on stage.

"Hoshi, we don't have much time anymore, so I hope my charms help you a little bit out with sorting your emotions out. Regardless of the result, just know that we have to perform at top-notch today..."

The girl nodded, she looked at the girls back, the girl that was supposed to be younger than her, she truly felt ashamed and was sure she was going to botch the show.

"..., but I am sure if it's you, you are just going to surpass our expectations, I know that."

And with these words Akane walked on stage, she hoped that the girl will make it in time, but now was the time for her solo.

Rumi was currently entering the concert of her future daughter, Fumio couldn't come today, because there was a trial going on that she just had to attend. Rumi promised her to film the concert on a video tape, so they can watch it again later.

"Mirko?! Is that you? Didn't know you liked to watch idol concerts, or did you just wanted to watch young girls dance around, maybe even copying some of their movements for combat?"

Rumi just ignored the black-haired women that was approaching her, she didn't really want anything to do with her.

"Oy! Are you ignoring me? Are you seriously ignoring me? What!? You think you are better than me, just because you are Japans number five? I'll show your over inflated..."

Rumi just put her hand on the woman's mouth, before dragging her to a more secluded place, she didn't want that the R-18 hero made a scene on her daughters' concert.

"Can you pipe down?! Seriously what's with you picking a fight with me? I just didn't want to get involved with you for today, I am just here to watch my daughters' concert, preferably in peace. Which wouldn't be possible with you around me."

"Why? You act like I use my quirk in public, or deliberately try to pull the attention to me. Which I don't, I like to have my private life too, you know? And since when where you old enough to have a daughter that could appear on stage? You don't seem like a person that likes children."

Rumi scratched her cheek, before sighing and walking to the concert. She didn't want to miss out on the concert after all. Nemuri didn't find this funny at all.

"Oy, are you ignoring me again, you really don't want to pick a fight? It just seems to me that you are provoking me on purpose."

Rumi shook her head.

"Am not. I would miss my daughters' concert if I stayed here to talk with you and to answer your question, I engaged myself to a woman who adopted a girl. You don't need to know the details, just know that I am soon going to be a wife and have a daughter."

Nemuri just chuckled, she didn't expect Mirko to swing that way.

"So, you like women, huh? Guess that was obvious with your personality and all."

Rumi just scoffed.

"This doesn't have to do anything with my personality or so, it's just that one thing went to another, I fell in love with her, we were lovers for a couple of years and then we made the decision to be together forever, nothing more, nothing less."

Nemuri just smiled, Rumi looked like she was truly in love with the other party and who was she to have the right to make fun of someone else's love?

"How is the music of your daughter?"

"Be prepared to be completely blown away."

Masa was currently on the backstage, checking if everything's going in order right before the start of the concert, he didn't want anything went south after all.

After checking that everything's all right he gave Akane the signal to start. She gave an okay sign back and went on stage. Masa could feel the sound of the cheers of the audience as she entered, after a minute or so it was silent.

"Hello everyone! Thank you all for coming to TOUs' first concert, as you might already know, I am Seigi Akane and I am very excited to perform for you all today, so be prepared to get blasted away by music. TRACK START!"

(Once Upon a Time, remix made by Tenkitsune, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmXWeVAOio4)

All the lights on set were turned off and even Akane was only barely visible, because her dress was luminescent.

As the melody started Akane stood still on stage, clapping alongside the melody. The audience was confused about this performance, after a moment of clapping she also started to sing the melody for the track, starting to smile.

Her amplified voice was so beautiful that it immediately caught the attention of the audience, and just then she started to sing.

"Once Upon a Time there was this little Tale..."

"It was the Adventure of a young child..."

Then the beat drop and Akane started to sing in earnest.

"Sadly, todays not the day where you hear about it."

"It's going to be about the little thing she experienced on the way."

"About the little things of the day, appreciating each minute."

"So, listen in and enjoy a fun and relaxing time."

Then she started to sing the refrain, Masa guessed by the silence of the audience that they were captured. Masa was truly impressed about the girl, this was a powerful piece, but it wasn't a piece trying to hype the listeners up, even though the melody suggested it. She tried to make them clock out, relax a bit, before the more exciting tracks are going to start.

Akane didn't even make any flashy movements or such, she just waved her arms to the audience to make them feel involved, she walked around the stage in a relaxing manner. It was as if she was a storyteller trying to entertain a very big crowd.

After six minutes of none stop singing the track ended and Akane stood still in place. The audience needed to process the music for a moment, before they started to give applause to the girl.

It was an ear deafening loud applause and Akane stood in front of it, giving a beaming smile and bowing down to the audience.

"THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING! I HOPE YOU ARE GOING TO LIKE THE OTHER TRACK JUST AS WELL AS THIS ONE!"

The applause got louder and Akane walked of the stage, where she was greeted with a determined looking Hoshi.

"Akane, I understood. Let's do our best for today."

Akane nodded, happy that the girl found her answer.

"I knew that you won't disappoint me."

At Rumis Location:

Nemuri was currently staring at the stage with an agape mouth, she was truly impressed by the girl.

"As expected, cute, beautiful, great dress, performance and voice. I am sure her group will land in the top ten idol groups of japan, just on this performance alone."

Nemuri wanted to say something against that, but after that performance she couldn't say much.

"Girl has a big dream she wants to follow, don't be surprised to see her at UA in three of four years."

"Of course, a girl like her would make it, didn't you see her amazing performance?! I didn't know that there was a quirk that could make music so beautiful."

Rumi's smile on her face disappeared.

"I think you misunderstood something. The girl has no quirk, she stands up there based on effort alone."

"No quirk!"

"Aren't you excited too? I want to see how far up the girl is going to make it in the future, after all nothing can hold her back, each roadblock was passed by her, I am sure she is going to make it high up in this world, showing everyone that they can be anything they want, as long as they try hard enough."

Nemuri thought that she was looking at someone delusional, but she had a gut feeling that the words of the number five hero, no that Rumi's' words were right.
