Trenton- "Okay boy, you know what to do, sneak out behind all of us and make your way back."
Rocky not happy about it followed behind Trenton listlessly.
Trenton not liking it any better didn't say anything else as he walked down to the common room where everyone was still gathered while Rocky hid up top waiting.
One of the Perfects gathered everyone's one attention- "Listen up, I have an announcement, last night there were students out of bed when you should have been sleeping, this is against the rules, but we won't punish you because it's the first day, don't let it happen again."
Wayne spotting Trenton snaked his way through the crowd, whispering- "Hey, you think they know it was us?"
Trenton- "Who knows, either way, it seems we'll be let off this time, but then again if they knew about us, shouldn't they know about Rocky?"
Wayne- "Eh, your right, wouldn't they mention him if they knew."
Trenton- "They're probably just using the 1st day as an excuse to cover for their lack of suspects, don't go spreading it around we did it."
Wayne- "Yeah you're likely right."
Justin and Ernest were having a similar conversation on the other side, coming to the same conclusion, don't say anything.
Trenton hung back last making sure no one noticed Rocky who followed behind, sneaking his way back out with one last goodbye from Trenton, promising to come to meet him when he could and telling him to have fun with the other animals.
Trenton managed to find his way to his first-ever magic class, an introduction to basic knowledge. His roommates however didn't end up in the same class as him, much to his disappointment.
He was happily surprised to see Hermione who was equally pleased as she rushed to give him a greeting hug.
Hermione- "Oh thank goodness your in my class, I was so disappointed when we weren't placed in the same house, how on earth did you not get placed into Ravenclaw like me?"
Trenton chuckled- "It's nice to see you to Hermione, at least we'll have classes together."
Hermione- "Mn, let's find our seats, class is about to start."
The teacher walked up with messy long brown hair and eyes.
"Hello my new students, I am Professor Charity Burbage, but you may refer to me as Professor Burbage, this will be your homeroom class where I will teach you the basic knowledge that you will need to know about our magical world," she said with a smile.
"To start why don't we talk about the most important thing, magic, how do we do it and from where does it come."
"Magic is from all around us, it permeates the air, this is the reason why muggles can still have magical children, though it's much harder to achieve this, and we are still uncertain why some can and others can't."
"This magical gene we developed then absorbs magic allowing us to wield and cast it, this will improve as you grow and practice magic."
"Now enough with the explanations, the important part is how to cast it, listen closely now for this will always be the case... You need the will and intent... What I mean by that, is you need to have a good idea of what you want to do, the intent, and then you need the will to do it, be confident in what you are doing."
"When someone sells you a spell, it's based on their own ideas of intent and the way they managed the magic in special ways like formations or rune placements. Their observations and experiments can be useful for following wizard who wishes to use it."
"Now I know that can be a bit advanced, but it's good knowledge none the less that you need to know."
"For beginners, we found its best to use words like fire for fire, wind for wind, but you can use whatever words you want, like some may choose to use the word burn rather than fire, it's whatever works for you."
"There are however words synonymous with certain spells that have become famous the world over for whatever reason, that we will teach you to better invoke certain magic's."
"But other teachers will teach you that."
"Now on to the world as we know it, the world some of you muggle born's may find surprising is that the earth is twice as big as the globes you are used to seeing in your muggle schools. It still has the same outlines and shape, just bigger."
"There are areas that have vast sections sealed off, separating the muggle world form the magical, and all the magical animals. There are also crazy things like pocket spaces which we won't get into."
Hermione then raised her hand.
"Now let's talk... Yes dear, what is it? We still have much to discuss."
Hermione- "Well there's just something that's been bothering me, muggles have advanced a lot since we last interacted and they have since built horrifying weapons of war, can wizards protect themselves from them?"
"Good question, magical society has mostly ignored this new threat thinking it beneath them, but even they fail to see the dangers of the massive new bombs muggles have been making... I will say this though, magic is still and will always be superior, muggle weapons are limited, magic is ever-versatile with no end in sight of what can be achieved."
"Take guns, for example, for those who don't know, muggles created a deadly weapon that can kill non-magical beans by the droves, not to worry though miss Granger, our magical abilities allow us to deal with bullets easily, though I must stress children or the young and those weak in magic are still vulnerable to these muggle weapons, so best to be careful until your sufficiently strong enough, and on a side note, anything can kill when caught off-guard so you should never underestimate anyone or anything when it concerns one's life, better safe than sorry."
Seeing the fear on the student's faces gave her pause as she realized she was talking a bit too candidly about death to kids. But after the war they just experienced, it's best they learn things quickly to better protect themselves.
"Let's move on to the final warning of today."
"Hogwarts does not condone the use of magic of any kind on fellow students without consent, there will be harsh punishments dished out to those who violate this rule."
