"Linc, what's up? I was beginning to think that you were dead or something"

"Well I am going to die of something. The food in the cafeteria, ugh, disgusting. I miss your cooking a lot"

"Hehehe too bad your school is outta town I would've brought a few treats for you once in a while"

"Well your treats are all I need to remain alive"

"Oh my goodness!"

"What is it?"

"I think that my head just swelled a bit"

We both laughed at that. I felt chills run down my spine and I instinctively turned to see Seth with his phone to his ear. His face was gloomy and I wondered who spit in his biscuit. He put his phone in his pocket and turned in my direction so quickly that I didn't have a chance to look away.

He took slow steps to meet me. I just stood there frozen on the spot.

"Umm, Beth I have to leave now something came up. McKenna asked me to say goodbye to you for her"

"Are you okay?"

I dismissed the obvious fact that NM was the one who just called him.

"Yeah", but it was overly obvious that he wasn't.

"Seth, you have to work on your lying skills"

He chuckled,"fine, someone I never thought I'd see again is in the mall and Ken just told me. Thankfully she doesn't know Ken"

This was too interesting to let go.

"She doesn't know Ken?"

"Yeah after I moved here, no one I knew before know that Ken is my sister"

That was some major shocker right there.

Ahhhhhhhhhh.

I closed my eyes and hit my head to alert my brain to stop the internal screaming. I blinked a few times.

"McKenna is your sister? Wow, not much resemblance" I laughed a little, while inside....

"Stepsis but I prefer sister"

"Hmm" I nodded like I was listening when I could only hear 'ken is my sister' over and over again.

"Well gotta go, see you.... tomorrow?"

"Sure, bye"

He walked away but he came back.

"Forgot something?"

"Yeah", saying that he dipped his head to my cheeks and I felt warmer like a 100° warmer. He pecked me and left.

I slowly placed my hand on the cheek.

"You should never take a bath again"

Lincoln jolted me from my trance. I lifted my phone to see that it was now a video chat.

"When did this happen?" I murmured.

"Actually I may have a hand in that"

"How much did you see?"

"Enough" he laughed evilly.

I rolled my eyes.

"Oooh Beth has a crush" he said in a singsong way.

I had just the perfect comeback and almost unleashed it when I heard yells and crashing. "Sweet, mall fight let's go watch Beth"

"Kay Kay"

I found the scene and it was the last thing I expected. Becca's hair was being pulled by some girl.

"BECCA!!" Lincoln shouted."Beth beat that girl up for me ok?"

"You don't have to say it twice"

I cut the call and secured my phone before diving into the fight. I managed to separate them. Mom held Becca while I held the other girl, who was shaking with anger. I let a lady who looked like she was her mom hold her.

I rushed to Becca. She had a few scratches here and there on her arms. Thank God her pretty face was still intact.

Mom faced the girl her eyes flashing a hint of red which only happens when she was ready to let all hell loose.

"What is wrong with you? Huh? Are you crazy? I'm going to respect the fact that your mom is here and not hit you. But you are going to apologise to my daughter"

I had my back to them afraid that I will rip the girl in two if I chanced a glance at her. Becca was shaking slightly her beautiful eyes shining with tears she was trying to hold back. I hated people bullying her so I often left them a few grenades.

"Fuck you and your daughter" the girl screamed at mom. There was pindrop silence after she said that.

That was it. The last straw that broke the camel's back. Facing the girl I spoke my voice low and dangerous, "say that again and I'll give you the slap your mom should've given you". My voice echoed because of the silence. I turned to her mom. "I'm sorry ma'am"

She shook her head, "please go all out. If you can beat some sense into her I would be grateful"

The girl hit her mom's stomach and charged towards me, I watched her like a science experiment gone wrong. When she was close enough I punched her face, aiming for her nose, with enough force to break it.

"My nose!", she screamed, "you broke my fucking nose"

"Language" I said quietly.

She groaned in frustration and headed for me but this time I tackled her and she fell to the floor. Blood from her nose messed up the floor.

I walked to her with an intent to kill, but mom held me.

"Lisbeth, what are you doing?", I looked at her and she recoiled, "Athena? Calm down sweetie she's sorry. Right? You are sorry, right?"

She was looking at the girl giving her signals to say yes. The girl nodded her head. My gaze still lingered on her.

"Athena honey everything is alright. She's sorry. Let's go home we'll shop tomorrow"

I turned to Becca and lifted her like she was featherweight. I took her to the car and attended to the scratches with the first aid kit in the car.

"Beth?"

I turned to see Seth.

Not good.

"Thought you left"

I grimaced, seems like Seth is the only one who can help me with my anger issues cos the sight of him melts my heart.
