Chapter 21: Picky Glutton
"Now...Have some rice with Fish curry." said Inder, serving the food on her plate, after she finished her bowl of soup.
"Father-" started Aja, but was interrupted by-
"You like Fish right?" asked Inder, interrupting his son.
She nodded her head obediently, taking a piece of fish to her mouth, and neatly removing the bones in an order.
Everyone on the table was shell-shocked with their interaction, including Aja.
'But, she said that she doesn't eat Non-veg right??' thought everyone, except Sachi and Sauri.
'This girl! Is she an illegitimate daughter of my hubby?' thought Sachi, with a doubtful look at her husband.
Feeling the suspicious looks from his wife, Inder turned to her and said,
"She is not my illegitimate daughter". and passed an empty plate to Ahi, to put the bones in.
Aja gave a sharp look to his mother, for trying to make the 'Picky Glutton' beside him, his step-sister.
Startled, Sachi gave a nervous laughter for being caught by her husband red handedly and being glared by her "cute son".
"I can only eat food that satisfies my taste buds. If not, I'll have trouble digesting."came a small voice, explaining her odd digestive system.
"When it comes to Non-veg, I can only eat seafood. But the smell of the livestock gives me a sense of nausea"she said, clearing everyone's doubts.
"Though, I used to eat chicken for a certain amount of time, but my tummy strongly rejected it later. So, sorry for being a trouble to you all." she said, lowering her voice with each sentence.
"No! We are not at all troubled Ahi dear, you see... my husband here is the same as you. Which surprised us in-laws!" said Sachi, in a comforting way.
Everyone resumed their eating, except for Aja and Ari.
Ahi looked at Ari holding the fish piece asking, "Fish?" with her wide eyes, and tilting her head to the side in an adorable way.
*Kyuuuuu.....(went a cupid's arrow, giving a direct hit to his heart!)
*Cough*cough cough
He suddenly started coughing.
She quickly put the utensils on her plate and gave him a glass of water, rubbing his back.
Everyone looked elsewhere, not paying attention to the affectionate couple before them.
There was a cold aura emitting from a certain someone.
'Ah! We forgot about him.....' thought everyone, with a black shadow covering their faces.
There was a sudden ringing of Ahi's mobile.
She patted him with one hand and lifted the phone with the other and answered the call.
"Where are you? " came the voice from the other side.
After recognizing the voice, Ahi started shouting, "Mokaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!".
Everyone around her was surprised, by her sudden shouting.
"Don't shout! My ears are working fine! So, where're you?" asked Moka.
"Coffee Day" replied Ahi, with a normal voice after being lectured.
"I'm here."said Moka.
"Where?" asked Ahi, looking around the glass doors to make an outline of her close Colleague/BFF
"Ah!Found you!" said Ahi, when her BFF was about to open the door.
She immediately got up from her seat, and rushed towards Moka, throwing herself on her bff, giving her a bear hug!
"I am here...What happened? Did you miss me to the point of not letting me go?" asked Moka sarcastically, patting Ahi's head and brushing her hair in a doting way.
After a few seconds, she didn't hear her usual retort from her Annoyingly genius friend of hers.
But she felt her shoulder getting wet, from some warm substance.
"Hey! Ahi.... are you crying?" came a worried and startled voice from Moka.
*Hiccup *sniffle
"Take me away from here..*sob" came a crying voice of Ahi, not letting go of Moka.
"Wait! What happened? I'm here right?!? Tell me, who bullied you? Let's have some of your favorite Frappe with 2 scoops of Ice cream-" said Moka, trying to comfort the emotionally unstable person in her arms.
But the sobbing suddenly increased, making her shirt go wet with water droplets sliding through her fabric to her skin.
Moka was surprised by Ahi's strange behaviour.
'This Girl never cries even if she was at her lowest point, but today she was weeping like a Baby? What the hell happened??To make her this weak, all of a sudden!' thought Moka with confusion.
She, now noticed the people who looked like some big shots, standing with a worried expression etched on their faces.
Especially the handsome guy in black T-Shirt seemed somewhat familiar.
But what surprised her most was the presence, of the King like man with a cold expression, looking at their way sending chills down her spine.
He was bleeding from his lower lip and there was a hand mark imprinted on his pale handsome face.
"Did you do something to her?" asked Moka, unconsciously with a doubtful voice, pointing at Aja, trying to mask her fear for the person.
He slightly narrowed his eyes at Moka, making her tremble with fear.
"Let's get away from here. I do not wish to stay here for an another single second." came Ahi's voice, still sobbing non-stop.
"Ok...Let's leave! Where is your bag?" asked Moka, searching for Ahi's bag.
"Leave it! Let's go." said Ahi, wanting to leave the place as soon as possible.
She slowly moved away from Moka's arms with a tear-streaked face. But, what shocked Moka most was her eyes that looked blood red, from all the crying.
She turned towards the elders, composing herself before facing them, without any trace of tears on her face.
"I am sorry, I had to leave. It was nice meeting you all. And thank you for the breakfast." she said with a polite smile, and glanced at the two men at the last sentence.
Everyone was shell-shocked by Ahi's quick transformation from a sobbing mess, to a polite young lady.
If not for her bloodshot eyes, they would never believe that both are the same person.
"Come." she grabbed Moka's hand, and pulled her out from the restaurant. Finally leaving the godforsaken place.
Even Her Bff/Moka was surprised by the events that took place after a few minutes of her arrival.
She was still in a shock with her 'Stupid friend/colleague's' mood swings the most, even though she was used to it.
*Sigh 'What on Earth happened here you Idiot? Can someone explain it to me already!??' screamed Moka, inside her head.
