The Effects of the Phenomenon

In a another place inside the Spirit Nest, Rio trudged through the forest while cursing Shui.

"Damn that guy! How dare he just up and disappear without telling me!"

The little gratitude he felt towards Shui for saving him was wiped out by this inconsiderate action of his.

"I must have gone too easy on him. Well that won't happen again! When I see him again-"

Rio was stuck in his own world complaining, but then he noticed something that caught his attention.

'What's wrong with them?'

He saw something that should be impossible considering the fact that gremlins were hated by spirits, but there was indeed a group of gremlins and spirits frozen in one area. He wasn't sure about the spirits, but he could tell that the gremlins seemed to be staring off in the distance with empty looks in their eyes. And he wasn't the only one to notice a similar scene.

All over the Spirit Nest, there were groups of gremlins, spirits and faeries standing together and facing in the same direction as if something there was calling them. Even those who didn't take this very seriously started walking in the direction that they faced to see if anything was there.

'This is worse than expected.'

As the only person who knew the cause of the creatures' reaction, Shui wore a solemn expression. Even though he had done all he could, he didn't think he would be able to fully prevent any phenomenon from occurring since in order to make a breakthrough Kate would have to be connected to the natural laws of the world. However, he hadn't taken into account that spirits, faeries and gremlins were particularly sensitive to the natural laws and so would be able to detect the incoming phenomenon before it happened.

"Wow, your little girlfriend's rather special. I didn't think I would see a divine physique down here," said the red spirit who flew out of Shui's pocket and hovered near his chest.

"You can tell?"

"Well I am still a spirit. By the way, I can't help you stop what's coming, but if you want I should be able to hide her location from the world for a brief moment."

"Really?!"

Shui was worried that Kate would be exposed at this rate, so he instantly latched onto the red spirit's proposal.

"Yes, but it'll take a lot of my energy so I'll need you to hurry up and look for one of the elemental crystal deposits that I told you about."

"Ugh, fine. I'll get ready to search for it as soon as we leave this place."

"Good. Now step back for a moment."

Shui obediently moved away from the red spirit and the cave that Kate was in and watched in both anticipation and worry, as she made her move. The moment the red spirit opened her mouth, she seemed to exude a heavenly aura that could inspire worship like Shui's divine aura, but hers was much stronger. As he resisted the urge to kneel, Shui focused his attention on her words.

"@#$%$#@##!!%&$..."

What came out of her mouth was like a string of indiscernible gibberish. Even with Shui's knowledge of ancient languages, inscriptions and arrays, if he wasn't the master of the Primordial Library he wouldn't be able to tell that this was rune language.

With this mystical language, she appeared to directly communicate with the natural laws of the world. At this unbelievable sight, Shui fell into a trance that had him carefully analysing the scene before him until her heavenly aura faded and she flew unsteadily towards him.

"There, the laws have agreed to change the location of the sign, but for her next breakthrough the entire kingdom shall witness the phenomenon so you better keep that in mind."

"Thanks."

As the red spirit made her way to his pocket, she seemed much more fragile than he remembered.

'It must have really exhausted her. I'll need to pay her back for this.'

Shui put the memory of her efforts at the back of his head so that he could devote his full attention on the phenomenon caused by Kate's breakthrough to Earth Realm.

It started with a sudden breeze across the Spirit Nest. It was unnoticeable at first, but eventually everyone felt a soothing wind brushing their bodies.

"What is this?"

They quickly realised that this serene feeling wasn't just in their heads as even their control over nature energy improved. Many theories came up about why this was, but none could figure out why before this feeling disappeared.

After the soothing wind, all wilting flowers or rotting fruits were reinvigorated as if touched by the breath of Mother Nature. Furthermore, both the natives of the Spirit Nest and the humans inside felt any injuries they had disappear after a gentle touch. Limbs might not have grown back, but it wasn't strange to see old scars fade away.

By this time, even the elders watching this could only stare with wide eyes. The spirits sent to watch over the disciples no longer obeyed the command of the guest elder, so they could only see what the spirits had in their vision, but it was still unbelievable to many of these figures who had lived for several decades.

"Is this really happening?"

Despite not thinking that they were under some form of mass hypnosis, one elder couldn't help but mutter this question. And he wasn't the only one who held doubts as this was the first time any of them had witnessed this event.

Since the guest elder was also busy trying to regain control over the spirits, these elders could only watch in confusion and fascination, this story which would passed down for many generations to come.

After the breath of life washed the lands of the Spirit Nest, a blue and purple aurora appeared in the clear sky. At first it was just a beautiful sight to admire, but then the Spirit Nest natives started bowing in reverence as if worshipping the aurora as a sign of divine intervention.

The humans had confused looks as they saw this but before long some of them started doing the same. They didn't know why, but they felt a deep urge to kneel and worship the heavens. Soon, majority of the core disciples were kneeling while facing one direction and fortunately, it wasn't the cave where Kate was having her breakthrough.

'Good thing she helped or else this would have been a freaking disaster.'

While Kate might be treasured by the sect if she revealed her mind-blowing talent, it was often in the cultivation world that too strong a talent would bring unwanted attention from those with malicious intent. Furthermore, considering what happened to their clan, it wouldn't be strange if an assassin was sent for her to make sure she didn't grow into any more of a threat.

'Hmm, looks like it's finally calming down.'

Before a full hour passed, the aurora faded and people gradually lost the urge to kneel. Though they stayed and questioned what just happened to them, the Spirit Nest eventually returned to its normal operation. However as the natives dispersed and humans regained their wits, there was a sudden tremor. It wasn't very strong nor did it last long, but this tremor was felt by every being inside the Spirit Nest.

"Is it not over yet?"

Many wondered if the strangeness still continued, but that tremor was the last thing of note so they didn't think too hard about it.
