Chapter 6: Fake

The whole country was in shock about the news. Nobody could have expected that the dignified President Zhao of Zhao Corporation is having an affair with his fiancee's half-sister. People shared different opinions.

"President Zhao is blind! How can he cheat on President Wang when she basically has everything? Beauty and brain!"

"I agree! She is even the heiress of Wang International. Compared to a mere doctor, President Wang's position is much more powerful and impressive!"

"Guys, don't judge the book by its cover okay? There may be things that we don't know about. Maybe Dr. Wang Fang is better in some things compared to President Wang."

"Better in bed maybe!"

"Haha you are right. From the pictures and video, Wang Fang seems to be very good at THAT indeed *wink*"

"How dare they compare me to that bitch Wang Xiu Lan!" Wang Fang shouted as she threw her phone on the floor after reading the comments. "Jun you have to make a statement. You have to defend me from these peasants" she pleaded to Zhao Jun.

Zhao Jun walked closer to Wang Fang who was sitting on the sofa. He sat next to her and hugged her "Don't worry Fang, I promise I will fix this. But first, I need to convince...". Just as he said that, the lounge door swung open and came in a furious Zhao Longwei and Fei Mingli, Zhao Jun's parents.

Slap!

Even before Zhao Jun could talk, a slap came across his face. "Zhao Jun! You imbecile!" Zhao Longwei yelled. "How dare you cheat on Wang Xiu Lan? And for this...wench?" said Zhao Longwei as he gave a disgusted look towards Wang Fang. He continued "Do you know what you have done?!"

Wang Fang flinched. She couldn't believe what Zhao Longwei just called her. She became teary-eyed because of the shame and pain she is feeling.

"Uncle Zhao...I didn't mean to..." she said pitifully.

Fei Mingli interrupted "Didn't mean to? Who are you kidding, you slut. You didn't mean to cheat for 6 years?"

"Listen Zhao Jun. We will never accept your relationship with this woman and you better take responsibility for what you have done! If the Wang Family decides not to proceed with our collaboration, forget about inheriting Zhao Corporation!" Zhao Longwei said. And with this, he left the room with his wife and he slammed the door behind them.

Not long after, a servant came in and said "Young Master Zhao, the Master wants to inform you that Miss Wang will need to leave the mansion now". After relaying the message, the servant bowed and left.

With no choice, Wang Fang had left while Zhao Jun stayed in the mansion to do some work. After all, this scandal will need a lot of fixing.

Knock knock. "Come in" Wang Xiu Lan said. Chen Jun came in "President Wang, CEO Wang is here to see you". Before she could even reply, a dignified-looking old man followed behind Chen Jun. "Grandfather" Wang Xiu Lan called.

Wang Shu, the current CEO of Wang International, looks younger than his age. This is due to the fact that for generations the Wang Family was never lacking in wealth. Thus, their appearances are well-maintained.

"I'm guessing you already know the reason why I'm here" Wang Shu said as he sat on the sofa inside the office. Wang Xiu Lan stood up from her desk and joined her grandfather. She sat opposite him. "If you're worried that I'm sulking over what happened. Well, don't be." she responded. With a look of disbelief, Wang Shu stared at Wang Xiu Lan raising an eyebrow. "It's true, grandfather. Would it convince you if I say I prepared the scandal?" she said. After saying those words, Wang Xiu Lan could see a proud look on her grandfather's face.

He was proud of her. She knew that. She knew that her grandfather cares a lot for her, more than her own father. She knows he always meant well and she knows that he likes it when she stands up on her own two feet and not letting others bully her. After all, the Wang Family is not a family that can be trifled with.

"So what do you plan to do now?" he asked. "If you want to bring the Zhao Corporation down, you know that's always possible" he added. "That's not what I want, grandfather. Although Mr. and Mrs. Zhao are unlucky to have a jerk of a son, they have always treated me nicely. It was never my intention to bring down the entire Zhao Corporation" Wang Xiu Lan explained.

The stocks of Zhao Corporation inevitably decreased with the scandal but she knew that was not enough to bring the company down. After all, Zhao Corporation is one of the top 5 companies in China and they have strong back-up. Plus it was not what she wanted. However, she knew that it is not impossible to bring the entire company down with the help of her grandfather.

"However..." Wang Xiu Lan continued "I will have the engagement cancelled". Her grandfather looked satisfied with her decision. "Good. Never let others bully you. Hmph! That Zhao Jun. Who did he think you are. It seems he forgot you are part of the Wang Family!" Wang Shun spoke.

Suddenly they heard a knock on the door. When Wang Xiu Lan gave permission, Chen Jun came in looking a bit concerned. "President Wang, there seems to be a bit of a problem at Wang Hospital". Wang Xiu Lan raised her eyebrow. Chen Jun understood that the President wants more information so he added "The general manager tried to sort out the situation but it seems it was a little too tough for him to handle". She sighed. She has an idea what the problem is all about. She turned to her grandfather and said "Grandfather, it seems I have to go. I won't be seeing you out. This matter seems to be urgent. I do apologise".

"I understand. Don't worry about me." Wang Shu replied. And with that, Wang Xiu Lan headed for the door and made her way towards Wang Hospital which is across Wang Medical Group headquarters. The two buildings are connected with an indoor bridge. So it didn't take long before she arrived at the hospital.

She saw the general manager. He looked very anxious. When he saw Wang Xiu Lan approaching only then did he look a bit relieved. With the manager was four other people. One was the man he was just talking to. Two wore uniforms similar to that of bodyguards. And the last one... There stood a man wearing a charcoal gray business suit. His bearing speaks class, elegance, wealth and power. For a moment, her eyes met his.
