Chapter 5: 2 seconds

- Callisto Café -

Wang Xiu Lan arrived at exactly 1pm. She was led by the manager to a private room. She thought "Wise decision, Zhao Jun. You most definitely wouldn't want other people to hear our conversation". Although it is more common for the rich to reserve private rooms for their meals, dining in a public space at a high-end restaurant is also common.

When she entered the room, she saw there were already two people sitting at the table. Moreover, they were sitting next to each other. Wang Xiu Lan walked to the table and she sat opposite Zhao Jun. "Sis, I hope you don't mind that I'm also here" Wang Fang said brightly. Wang Xiu Lan responded "I do actually. I didn't know Zhao Jun also invited you to OUR supposedly PRIVATE lunch". Wang Fang stiffened for a bit. "Why is Wang Xiu Lan showing hostility towards me? She used to always agree with everything I said" she thought to herself.

Zhao Jun saw the bit of tension between the two women so he decided to interrupt "Baby, sorry it's my fault. I actually saw Wang Fang outside. She was on the way to work. I asked why don't she join us for lunch. After all, it has been a while since the 3 of us had a meal".

"You are right, it has been a while since the 3 of us had a meal" Wang Xiu Lan agreed. Zhao Jun felt relieved. Then Wang Xiu Lan added "After all, it's always you two having a meal together. You never invite me on your secret dates". Zhao Jun and Wang Fang were shocked and showed a slight panic.

Wang Xiu Lan laughed lightly "Why do you two look so scared? I was only kidding. It's normal for one's sister and the future brother-in-law to have a meal together, right?". Zhao Jun and Wang Fang nodded in agreement and was about to say something when Wang Xiu Lan continued..."or is it not?". Silence. Nobody said anything. However, in the mind of both cheaters they think Wang Xiu Lan is acting strange and that she talks very differently today.

After Wang Xiu Lan felt satisfied looking at their confused faces. She looked at Wang Fang and said "You said you were on your way to work? How diligent you are, working on a weekend. I remember deliberately using my position in the company to arrange that you never work in the weekends as you requested. I know you have many privileges at work being the half-sister of the President of Wang Hospital but you shouldn't take too much advantage of it. For example, you should not go against the dress code of the company. Even more so that you are a pediatrician, you should dress more appropriately when tending to kids".

Wang Fang felt embarrassed and insulted. Not only did Wang Xiu Lan emphasized that she is only the half-sister but she also made sure to mention herself as the President of the company. Deliberately making the difference in their positions known. It was a lie that Wang Fang was on her way to work. Therefore, she dressed "inappropriately". She was wearing a super tight fitting green dress. And for this, she got insulted for "dressing inappropriately in front of the kids".

She gritted her teeth but she held back her anger. She knew that today, the most important thing is to know whether Wang Xiu Lan has heard about the news or not and if she has suspicions about it. The reason she is hiding her relationship with Zhao Jun is the matter of collaboration between the Zhao Corporation and Wang International once Wang Xiu Lan and Zhao Jun get married. Although Zhao Jun is currently the President, his father is still the CEO. His father really likes Wang Xiu Lan and might oppose his relationship with Wang Fang. More importantly, Wang International might cancel the collaboration if Wang Shu finds out that his granddaughter has been cheated on. In addition, Wang Xiu Lan is the heiress of Wang International. Zhao Jun didn't want to let go of such a catch.

After having these thoughts, Wang Fang said as she smiled "Sis, you don't have to worry. I brought extra clothes with me". Wang Xiu Lan's expression changed from a dry smile to expressionless.

Wang Xiu Lan: "You know what? You two can stop pretending now. Aren't you tired of faking it with me?"

Wang Fang: " Sis what do you mean?"

Wang Xiu Lan: "Stop calling me 'sis' Wang Fang. It's nauseating".

Zhao Jun: "Baby, what's going on?"

Wang Xiu Lan: "You aren't any better, Zhao Jun".

Both Zhao Jun and Wang Fan were troubled. Wang Xiu Lan never called them by their names before.

Wang Xiu Lan: "I'm sure you have both seen the news regarding that president of a big company caught with another woman at Diamonds Hotel last night. I've seen the pictures of the two people's silhouettes and they looked oddly familiar".

Zhao Jun: "Xiu Lan, are you trying to accuse me?"

Wang Xiu Lan: "YOU? No." she replied and then she said "YOU" while pointing her finger at both him and Wang Fang.

Wang Fang: "Sis! How could you?!"

Wang Xiu Lan: "No, how could YOU?"

Then Wang Xiu Lan grabbed a bunch of pictures from her handbag and threw them on the table. The pictures contained explicit images of Zhao Jun and Wang Fang's passionate night at Diamonds Hotel. Their eyes grew big and fear can be seen on their faces.

Zhao Jun: "This..."

Wang Xiu Lan: "Don't get me wrong. Last night was not the first time I found out about your cheating act. I happen to be at Zhao Mansion a week ago. You can already guess what I saw."

Zhao Jun: "Xiu Lan, let me explain..."

Wang Fang: "No!" she screamed. "What do you have to explain Zhao Jun?! She already knows!"

Zhao Jun: "Wang Fang stop, calm down..."

Wang Fang: "No! Isn't this better for us?! Just tell her the truth already!" she insisted.

Wang Xiu Lan: "No need. I know you two have been cheating on me for the past 6 years. I've done my investigation. Why do you think such elaborate pictures exist?" she smirked.

Zhao Jun: "You..." he glared at her. "You took them yourself!"

Wang Xiu Lan laughed: "Haha! Of course not, Mr. Zhao. I don't have such good photography skills. Moreover, I don't have some weird fetish of looking at you two doing such a disgraceful act. HOWEVER, if you call "informing the media that a certian President is currently at Diamonds Hotel" as "taking pictures", then yes. I took the pictures."

Zhao Jun: "Wang Xiu Lan! How could you?! I waited for you for 2 hours!"

Wang Xiu Lan: "You are naive Zhao Jun. You still haven't figured out why you waited for 2 hours in the first place? I guess you were too distracted last night to even think about it" she said sarcastically.

Wang Fang: "She tricked us! She set us up!"

Wang Xiu Lan: "Oh please, I merely set the stage that were meant for cheaters such as yourselves".

Wang Xiu Lan stood up from the table.

Wang Fang: "You bitch! Do you know why Zhao Jun chose me over you?! Because he thinks you are boring! He said you're already 28 years old yet you have no interest in sex!"

Wang Xiu Lan: "I know. And that's why he turned to you with your legs wide open".

Wang Fang's face turned red due to embarrassment and anger.

Wang Xiu Lan headed for the door, she opened the door and was about to get out when she heard Zhao Jun's voice.

Zhao Jun: "Xiu Lan! Remember, you will pay for this!"

Wang Xiu Lan: "If I were you, I would worry more about Zhao Corporation's reputation. These pictures are scheduled to be released in... (she glanced at her watch) 2 seconds" then she slammed the door behind her.

The moment the door closed was also the moment the dirty deeds between the President of Zhao Corporation and Dr. Wang Fang of Wang Hospital got exposed to the entire of China.
