And Now We Wait

Three days of job applications later, Claire had her first interview. She dressed up in her most professional blouse, the one pair of black heels she owned, and her sole pencil skirt and prepared to head to a pharmacy in another part of town.

Ray had already delivered on the letter of recommendation so she sincerely hoped this worked out. She took a deep breath to steel herself as she looked in the mirror after putting makeup on for the first time since getting back from New York.

"You're a strong, independent woman and you can do this!" she told herself firmly as put her hands on her hips in a power pose.

She had read somewhere once that there was a positive psychological effect to doing this right before interviews. She couldn't remember whether or not it had worked the last time she was looking for a job because it had been a while.
