You Don't Have To Ask

Andrea was thrilled that Alex wanted to come over and meet the rest of the family. She was planning on hosting a backyard barbecue and even her son that lived in Connecticut was driving up for the weekend to be there.

That made him particularly nervous. His existence was a big deal to these people and he wasn't sure how to act around them.

Nervous as he was, he was a man of his word. He told his grandma that his family would be there so they would. He had a hard time making sure he had his story straight though since he was expecting a lot of questions from people he had never met before.

"I don't know if I can do this," Alex mumbled when they were in the car on their way there two weeks later.

"You can totally do this, Dad," Ethan encouraged. "If I can talk to people at school and on my swim team as if I'm a normal person, you can talk to your relatives."
