First Visitor: Part 1

The sun rises once more in Teraxa and Indux comes to school again for another day and gets to meet Daegus, his new friend.

"Morning Daegus!" Indux said.

"Morning Indux!" Daegus replied. The two meet each other

"I remember what you said to me when you wanna come to my house." Indux said.

"Oh, right. I wanna go to your house and play." Daegus said. It has been a day since Indux and Daegus became friends and they've wanted to have a play date for various reasons. The most important one is to have fun.

The two go to class where they teach basic mathematics, the basic addition and subtractions. Indux who unsurprisingly have the most opportunities became well-versed in math came up to the chalkboard to see the equation.

<21-9+3=?>

The math teacher gave Indux a white chalk and an eraser. Indux turned to the board and almost immediately he wrote the number 15.

"That is correct." the math teacher said. The teacher called various other students in the class and some of them got easy ones such as 2+2, but the harder ones were 10+17 or 14-9+4. Daegus was called on and he got to the board to see this equation to see an equation.

<12+9-11=?>

Daegus gulped at the sight of the problem, he had little trouble when it came to operations between two numbers, but not three. He remembers the time when his father taught him math by apples. He started at twelve and counted up nine times until he reached twenty-one. Next, he will count backwards eleven times.

"Twenty, nineteen, eighteen, seventeen....ten!" Daegus said in his mind, solving the problem. Daegus wrote the number 10.

"That is correct. Good job." the teacher said. Daegus felt a surge of triumph and made a subtle celebration. Daegus returned to his seat.

The math teacher kept teaching the class for some time and it was a normal lecture, everyone was silent and attentive, none were disruptive. The teacher looked at the clock and dismissed the class. Indux walked out of the class along with Daegus and tell their feelings.

"That was nice figuring out that problem, Daegus." Indux said, praising him.

"Before I got here, my dad taught me by using apples from the tree. So I thought about apples. What about you?" Daegus said.

"My mother taught me by using butterflies with her magic. It was pretty." Indux said remembering the time when in pre-school, Zenna began teaching him simple math and then the other day, she began showing him pitch black butterflies made by her Darkness magic. She made them move around the same way an actual butterfly move so gracefully.

"Wow...I wanna see." Daegus said excitedly.

"There's board games we could play too." Indux said. Daegus became even more excited that Indux has board games where in Teraxa in general were a luxury and also expensive.

[Hours later...]

The school rang its final bell and all the students made their way to the exit. Daegus and Indux also came to the exit and talked to each other while other students make their way home. Indux sees his carriage, indicating that he shouldn't linger longer.

"There's my carriage."

"We're gonna ask our parents when we get home, right?" Daegus said.

"Of course, bye!" Indux said, waving Daegus goodbye as he walks to the carriage where Daegus waves back as he began heading home on foot. Indux enters the carriage where it wasn't Indux nor Zenna. It was Florence.

"Florence?" Indux said.

"Good afternoon, young master Indux. How was school?" Florence said, bowing as he was seated.

"Where's father?"

"Your parents will be a little late and will return shortly. Also, I hear that Daegus boy is your friend." Florence said.

"Yes, we were talking about the time where he will come to my house." Indux said.

"We'll have to see what your parents say. But it's good that you found your first friend." Florence said. The carriage kept going until they reached the gates of his mansion and to his pleasant surprise, he sees them exiting the other carriage. The gate opens and the parents looked behind them, knowing they returned. Indux jumps out of the carriage to greet them.

"Hi father!" Indux said, rushing over to them.

"You're awfully excited, Indux. Did something good happen?" Algra said.

"Is it alright for Daegus to come over?" Indux said.

"Is it your friend from school?" Algra said.

"Yes, can he come over?" Indux said, excited thinking about the amount of fun these two will have.

"Sure he can." Algra replied. Indux beamed at the response.

"Great! I'll write him a letter!" Indux said and briskly walked into the mansion.

{Meanwhile, in the Knox's household}

Daegus entered the house where it had a brick house, along with a wooden porch. Daegus sees a muscular man wearing a red sleeveless shirt and blue jeans who is sweeping the porch with the broom. He notices Daegus and waved to him.

"Daegus, my boy!" he said waving.

"Hey, daddy!" Daegus said, running towards his father and jumping into his arms.

"Whoa-ho-ho! I think someone had a blast in school, huh my little fighter?" Daegus' father said.

"Can I come to Indux's house?" Daegus said, straight to the point.

"Indux? Your friend? Sure. Come inside, you must be hungry." the father said.

Daegus' father opened the front door and Daegus walked inside. His father then closed it shut behind him. The mother comes from the kitchen and meets Daegus.

"Welcome back, how was school?" Daegus' mother said, taking off the oven mitts.

"Good." Daegus replied and smelled something very appetizing. Something rich.

"Something smells good. Is it chicken?"

"Better, chicken stew and I just finished. Be sure to eat while it's hot." she said. The family walks towards the kitchen and witness a delicious looking chicken stew that is mixed with onions, carrots, potatoes, and bell peppers steaming from the heat of the red pot made of steel. Both Daegus and his father drooled at the sight.

"Day-Day!" a little child said. Daegus looked at a little girl that has the same red hair as Daegus, but longer and have pigtails, she is wearing a simple brown dress that reached her shins. This girl is Daegus' little sister.

"Hi Lana." Daegus said, waving to her and sat on the wooden chair with a large wooden table. The table is set up by wooden utensils and a wooden bowl. The mother then pulls out a large metallic ladle and scoops the stew and pour its contents into the respective bowls. The scent of the stew filled the kitchen again as it emitted steam again. The Knox family began eating while it's still steaming hot, yet they're unaffected by the heat that could burn their mouths.

"Mmm...this is good." Daegus said.

"Yeah, this great, Fynia." The father said as he continued to savor the stew.

"So, what was Indux like?" Fynia said to Daegus.

"He has black hair and wears fancy clothes." he replied "And he invited me to his house."

"Okay, but we'll here as well, right?" The father said. The parents can't just send their children to a stranger's house, even if the stranger's child is a genuine friend of Daegus.

"Okay." Daegus replied. The family continued to eat a hearty dinner in the sunset shining an orange light from the sun.

{Nighttime...}

Night falls on Teraxa again and the lights illuminate the sky, Daegus's humble home also have a lantern in their porch along with the masses. Daegus comes to his room and climbs on to his bed and get underneath the covers. As he looks up, he imagines what games will they play and stories to read and many things for the oncoming days.

"I can't wait." Daegus said to himself and fell asleep for the night.

At the front door, an envelope was inserted through the mail compartment and hit the welcome mat. The envelope lay there throughout the night, waiting to be discovered.
