Chapter 28 - Training

I woke up after a great sleep from last night. I stretched my arms and yawned at the bed while waking up. I blinked my eyes for a few times and eventually stood up. I then saw Rory cooking some food, specifically a rabbit again but I did not complain since it was delicious.

I then moved towards the fire that Rory set up.

"Good morning, master Ave. In a minute, your breakfast will be ready."

I nodded since I was still not in the mood to talk. I did not wait long for the rabbit meat to be cooked. I ate it fast and immediately my mood was change from bad to good. Delicious food really does makes your mood great.

"Thank you Rory for the breakfast."

I thanked Rory which he replied immediately.

"It's an honor to serve you, master Ave."

Rory is still such a serious fellow. He then excused himself to train which I allowed. He went to the right corner of the room and trained his Blade Arts and Fire skills.

This gave me an idea that I should also train my skills. I now have Water Magic but I still don't know how to fully use it, even my Ice Magic is not fully used at it's maximum potential in my hands.

I can still remember how Nixie fought us yesterday. Her skills and control in using Water Magic and Ice Magic was amazing that if you look at my own control, you can only say 'it's trash'.

Maybe I can ask Nixie to teach me her techniques in using Water Magic and Ice Magic. With that thought in mind, I summoned Nixie.

Light came out of my forehead and soon Nixie was floating in front of me.

"Good morning, Ave. Did you have a great rest last night?"

Nixie said while smiling at me.

"I did, thanks for asking. Nixie, can I ask a favor?"

I asked Nixie without beating around the bush.

"Of course, Ave as long as I have the ability to do the favor of yours."

"Can I ask you to teach me techniques in using Water Magic and Ice Magic. I don't really have a great way in using my magic."

Nixie nodded understandingly and said:

"I can teach you but I'm not the best teacher."

I nodded and she started to explain how she uses her Water Magic and Ice Magic.

"First, I will explain how I use Water Magic. I use Water Magic like how I use Ice Magic but it has an advantage when I use it around water. The advantage of using Water Magic around bodies of water is the low cost of mana when using it, and it is also easier to control the water.

If no bodies of water is available around me, I lean towards the use of Ice Magic.

Water Magic and Ice Magic are actually friendly elements towards each other. One example of this is when I was making a rain of water and turning it to ice needles making it deadly for the enemy. I used this at you when we were fighting, remember?"

I nodded, remembering how she did that attack. She then continued her lecture.

"I want you to first train in water manipulation and ice manipulation so that you can easily control the water and ice.

We will train by attacking an ice statue, I want you to attack it by using an ice spear and then melting the ice spear to make water. I then want you to strangle the ice statue by the use of water. This attack is actually effective because it gives an element of surprise in your attacks.

Let me show you a demonstration."

We then moved towards the left corner of the room because the right corner is currently occupied by Rory. When we arrived she started her demonstration.

She then summoned an ice statue and made an ice spear which she thrown towards it. When the spear was gonna hit the ice statue, it suddenly turned into water in a blink of an eye, and strangled the ice statue. The ice statue crumbled.

"That was amazing, Nixie!"

I loudly said with an amazed expression. Nixie giggled in return and even flipped her hair that was made of water.

"Now you try, Ave."

She said while making another ice statue for my target practice.

"I want you to give your complete focus when controlling the ice and water."

Nixie advised when I was already positioned to attack.

I then made an ice spear and thrown it towards the ice statue. When it was gonna hit the ice statue, I controlled the ice spear to melt it into water but I failed in doing so, I only managed to melt one out of four. The rest of the ice spear then hit the ice statue.

"Don't be discouraged by your first try, Ave. You just need to practice more and soon you will master this and catch up to my level of control."

Nixie encouraged me but suddenly Rory appeared beside us.

"Excuse me, master Ave but can you allow me to go outside. I want to practice my skills and hunt some monsters."

Rory said.

"Go ahead Rory but please come back before it goes dark."

Rory then left after that.

"You have such a hard-working servant, Ave."

Nixie said while smiling at the back of Rory. When Rory was gone, Nixie turned to me and said:

"Let's continue the training, Ave!"

I immediately trained. I trained for about four hours and only stopped because I run out of mana. The training was fruitful making me have the control to melt the ice spear by three out of four. I rested for about an hour and continued my training when I saw that my mana was full again. Mana can regenerate through resting unlike, health points.

I then achieved the feat of melting the ice spear completely after an hour of hard work and suddenly the system rang.

Ding!

You learned Ice Manipulation!

I then checked the skill to see what it does.

Ice Manipulation (Level 1):

Can easily the create, control, move, and melt the ice by 10%.

I tried making an ice spear and it was indeed faster by a bit. Next, I tried melting it and it was faster but not as fast to how Nixie melts it.

Afterwards, I continued my training and only rested when my mana runs out. Nixie also helps me by pointing out my mistakes, and giving me suggestions.

We only stopped when Rory returned while holding three snakes. The training was fruitful because now, I was able to melt the ice faster and even managed to control the water but I was not able to strangle the ice statue yet. It even leveled up my Ice Manipulation and learned Water Manipulation.

Ice Manipulation (Level 3):

Can easily the create, control, move, and melt the ice by 30%.

Water Manipulation (Level 1):

Can easily the create, control, and move the water by 10%.

After I was done checking my new skills, I have said goodbye to Nixie.

"Let's continue the training for tommorow, Nixie. Thank you for giving time to teach me."

"Anytime Ave. I'll rest for today and we shall continue for tommorow."

Nixie was then swallowed up by light again and soon the light entered my forehead. She must be back to my Mana Galaxy by now.

I then walked towards Rory. He was still cooking the three snakes that are pierced by a stick. I sat at the opposite direction of Rory and waited for the food.

While I was waiting, I looked at my MENU to see the changes in my stats.
