Chapter 46 - Frozen Forest 2

While resting, the others came towards me. They were all looking at Blite curiously. I then remembered that I haven't introduced our new companion starting today.

"Everyone meet are new companion, Blite. Blite these are Rory, Rai, and Nixie." I said to everyone.

Blite only gave a glance and then continued coiling at my finger. Blite must be a snob type.

"Try to protect Blite also when you have the chance Rory and Rai. My life is connected to Blite so if it dies, I die and if I die the both of you dies." I told them. If me or Nixie dies it will be game over but luckily if I die, I can still revive for about four times because of my skill 'Four Lives'.

"Yes master Ave! I vow to protect Blite from any harm!" Rory said while kneeling. Such a serious person.

"Yes master!" Rai said plainly while bowing.

Rory stared at Rai madly and then lectured Rai about giving me more respect.

"You should be more respectful to our master Ave." Rory repeatedly said to Rai several times during his lecture.

Rai only nodded and by the looks of it, he doesn't care what Rory is talking about. I'm not really bothered with how Rai acts towards me.

"Hey Ave, can I touch Blite?" Nixie curiously asked.

"Well... of course if Blite wants it though." I said.

Nixie's eye lit up with excitement and quickly flew towards Blite and touched it's scales.

Blite has it's eyes close but suddenly opened it when Nixie gave his scales a touch. It started to hiss at Nixie and looked mad when it was touched. Nixie didn't mind and continued touching it.

I didn't stop Nixie since she was not hurting Blite but only playing with it. Blite looked at me as if asking for help but I looked at the other direction, acting as if I don't know.

The little snake can only hiss annoyingly while Nixie continued petting the snake.

We rested for about an hour and stopped when I checked my mana being completely replenished.

"Alright guys, we should continue our journey and hopefully level up a bit more before facing the boss." I said.

They all nodded except for Blite which was coiled on my finger. It must be being lazy again. I observed the snake for the whole hour and I can say that it was lazy since it didn't move for an entire hour.

"Let's return back into the surface since we don't need to do anything here anymore." I said while exiting the cave.

We swam out of the lake and was greeted by the frozen trees again.

Once we're out of the lake, we continued our exploration of the frozen forest and tried to find the boss. I really like to level up more but since I have a time limit to complete the task, I need to finish it immediately.

We encountered some monsters and helped level up Blite by a huge number. The Experience we received from the monsters are divided by 2. A bear gives us 1500 Experience Points and if divided by half, it will give Blite 750 EXP. This helped Blite leveled up by a ton but slowed my leveling speed.

On the bright side when I use my Consume skill, we still share Experience Points it must be because we share a single status. It slowed my leveling speed further but I didn't mind since Blite leveling up is still the same as strengthening me.

Blite was now level 34 and was still increasing. The downside of this leveling speed is Blite's skills not improving much since it was not moving at all.

My goal from now on is to use my Dark Magic skill and try to level it up. Since our status are shared, the Dark Magic skill might level up if I use it. I can only summon a dark element compressed ball to attack monsters. It was effective since it actually turn the skin of the monster turn into black and when I hit it with a punch, it easily went through. The Dark Element must be more of a debuff than damage. I should ask Akira and find something useful.

'Akira, what does the Dark Element do when I used it to others?' I asked.

'The Dark Element is the element that makes the living withered. It damages the living but heals the dead. This element is the opposite of the Light Element since the Light Element heals the living and damages the dead. The Dark Element is considered taboo by others because of it's effect to the living so don't use this element when others are around you.' Akira explained.

'This explains the way the skin of the monsters being hit by Dark Magic turn to black. The skin aged and was easy to penetrate if attacked.'

'Oh! Is this a sign of my stupid cat gaining some knowledge!?' Akira said teasingly. I ignored him and cut the talk since I know that he'll only annoy me.

We continued our exploration of finding the boss. It took us a few hours until we found a humanoid being. It was a man that has a two horns that looks like it was made of ice. The lower part of the man was a bears body. It looked like a centaur but has a bear as it's lower body part than a horse. The man has a handsome look and was naked. It was holding an axe for each hand.

The monster was looking at our direction but was still not attacking, I took that time to appraise it.

Such strong attributes and it even has an Advance Axe Arts. I know how powerful that skill is since Rory also has a similar skill. That skill won't help him increase in attributes but combat power was the one that increases. This will be a harder fight than I imagined.

Thankfully, I have leveled up by a bit making me a Level 129 while Blite was level 73 now. My Dark Magic also leveled up into Level 4 now since I used that skill for many times in our battles before.

Rory should be the one distracting that monster with a bit of help by Rai.

"Rory you will be the to confront the monster. Rai help Rory when you have a chance. Nixie look after the two and heal them when you have the chance. I'll be the one to damage the monster with the help of my shadow clones." I said.

They all nodded and quickly dashed towards the monster when I gave the signal. Ice Beartaur roared when it saw us attacking.

It then attacked Rory with it's axes while Rory tried to deflect it using his swords. Rory failed and was flown away. The Ice Beartaur has a huge Strength attribute so it wasn't a surprise when that happened.

"Rory try to dodge his attacks and not block it. It has a huge Strength attribute and you can't possibly win if you confront it head on." I said while running towards the back of the Ice Beartaur.

"Yes, master Ave!" Rory shouted and stood up while heading towards the Ice Beartaur again. Rai was distracting it while Rory was dashing towards them.

While the Ice Beartaur was distracted, I used that time to use my shadow clones to hit it with Dark Magic. Four shadow clones was enough to make it's body full of black dots. I made water arrows while mixing poison on it. I then thrown it towards the black dots.

The Ice Beartaur roared and then dashed towards me but stopped by Rory and Rai. The Ice Beartaur roared again and used his axes to slash towards Rory and Rai. Rory managed to dodge it by a hair while Rai took the full damage. Rai was flown out while Nixie followed him.

Since Rai is unable to help Rory, I stopped my attack and supported Rory to distract the Ice Beartaur. While I was helping Rory, my shadow clones continued using there Dark Magic to make defense of the Ice Beartaur lower.

It didn't took long for Rai to come back with full health.

I made the same technique to attack Ice Beartaur by going at it's back and using water spears to attack. We continued this round of attacks until the Ice Beartaur shouted.

It's body increased in size and I can see that it's skin turning into blue. The Ice Beartaur must have used his Frost Rage skill.

I guess round 2 will start now.
