The sun had set, making way for the brilliance of the full moon. Elize looked at the crowd gathered ahead nervously. Everyone was in high spirits, dressed to their best and taking turns putting their hand over the chalice placed on the podium in the middle of the garden. Mikail was patiently welcoming them one by one, slipping a decorated dagger over each of their hands.

The smell of blood was diluted by the scent of the roses around them. There was something about the combination that made her mouth water. There were no floating lanterns or magical orbs in the air, yet the place was beautifully decorated with a variety of flowers, giving off a subtle glow under the light of the moon.
