It didn't take her much time to get used to the clatter of the wheels. Something about its rhythm had put her at ease mid-way through their journey. She watched it turn over and over again, climbing over shallow ditches and small rocks, splashing through puddles, and slightly swerving to the sides at larger obstructions as it continued its journey.
It reminded her of the time wheels that kept revolving in the timekeeper's mansion in the Celestial Realm, turning in sync without missing a beat, no matter what went out outside.
As a child, there was nothing scarier than the sight of those wheels. Who knew what waited for her at the turn of each era? And there was nothing that she could do to stop them. At least that was what the time God had said.
