Earth

I awoke to a burning sensation going through my brain. It felt like someone carved out my brain. I sat up, staring at the scene in front of me. There were rows of houses, each on either side of a strip of road. They were made of brick, with windows scattered over them. They were all cramped together, each leading to the next. Darkness came from inside each one. I looked up, to the moon, gleaming brightly over the sprinkling of stars. It was beautiful, like a painting.

Lights flared into my eyes, flooding from a moving object, riding over the strip of road.

I knew where I was.

I was on Earth.
