Tutor

For some reason, Satsuki-sensei told me earlier in class to see him in the faculty room during lunch time.

And here I am right now, waiting to what he's going to say.

"S...Sensei, what's the matter?" I asked.

"Hmmm Kusakabe Tanaka, your grades in your courses are somehow average so far but..." answered Satsuki-sensei.

He's scratching his head, i...is this..... (¬_¬;)

"...you might fail your General Science if you don't pass the midterms." continued Satsuki-sensei.

GWAAAAH!!! (ʘ言ʘ╬)

T.... That's right! My scores in each quizzes in Sciences were terrible!

Ah~ What should I do?

"Isn't there anything I can do about it?"

"Hmm, I requested someone to tutor you for a while." revealed Satsuki-sensei.

"That's reassuring, sensei. Thank you!" I replied.

I wonder who he is talking about. I'm sure I'll be in great hands!

"Ah~ I'm already motivated." 〔´∇`〕

"I told her to meet you in the library later 3:30 pm. Make sure to study well or else...." said Satsuki-sensei while glaring at me.

"Y....Yes, sensei!"

A "her", huh? I....I wonder i...if she's h...ho...t..... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Crap, what am I even thinking?! Is this the onset of adolescence?!

W...Well, that's the kind of tutors that I've seen in manga..... so I can't blame my imagination completely.

Anyway, the goal is to pass the midterms in order for my grades to probably make the passing mark. Hehe.

.....So the classes were already over and I headed straight to the library, but.....

"Hey, Tanaka. Pretty time conscious, aren't we?" greeted Suzuki.

Why is Suzuki here?! (〇o〇;)

"A...Are you the tutor Satsuki-sensei referred to?"

"Yes, is there any problem with that?" rebutted Suzuki.

A lot!

"I....I was expecting it to be another teacher here so..."

"I believe you've anticipated for a much older and bolder tutor, am I wrong? Hmm~" teased Suzuki.

"I....I wasn't! Anyway, let's get going with the topic!"

Phew, I somehow escaped that pitfall.

"Let's study basic physics today. It's the one that troubling you so much, right?" asked Suzuki.

"Y...Yeah."

S...Since this morning, I can't help but think what happened in the ferris wheel. That last move that she did, was it really a finger flick or a..... k..ki.... (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)

".....a flick...." uttered Suzuki as I look towards her.

"W...What did you say?!"

"Huh? I'm saying that flicking a finger is an example of motion." replied Suzuki.

"I...I thought so too. Hehehe! Please continue!"

Focus, Kusakabe Tanaka! Don't get so flustered just because of that!

"There are three laws of motion existing, these are inertia, force and acceleration, and lastly, action-reaction." lectured Suzuki.

Whoa, she's really into it. Does she love science than I could imagine?

"Inertia, well, pertains that an object will not move unless something exerts a force towards it....." added Suzuki while she flawlessly fixes her hair over the right ear.

C'mon, self! Do not look at her directly! Wait, why am I even looking at her face in the first place?! (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)

S...She's so pr.....

Stop! Don't think about it or she'll tease you!

"Gwahh...."

"Tanaka, what's wrong? Are you feeling ill?" concerned Suzuki.

"N...No... Please continue...."

What's wrong with me?! Why do I feel that my fluster tolerance has lessened since yesterday?!

Suddenly, Suzuki yanks my forehead with her fingers.

"Aw! What's the big deal, Suzuki?!"

"Were you listening to me all along?" responded Suzuki.

"Y...Yeah, of course! Ask me anything about that topic!"

"Then, what example can I incorporate the thing that I just did to you?" questioned Suzuki.

F...Flick of forehead.... but the sensation from the ferris wheel.... which was much softer..... THEN...?!

I couldn't help but swiftly look at Suzuki, probably blushing visibly. Yeah, I admit it.

"Hmm, it seems that you found out a different "answer" within your mind." said Suzuki as she grins at me.

"Uwaaaah! That couldn't be possible!" (•゚д゚•)

"Sssh. Don't shout, we're at the library." insisted Suzuki.

"Sorry, sorry. I was just surprised."

I....I have to stop. T...That was a finger flick back then, okay? Okay?!

Calm down, it doesn't matter now. I need to study hard.

"Hey Tanaka, what are you planning to take in college?" asked Suzuki.

Hmm, that's an unforseen question.

"C...College? We're just in middle school, isn't it early to ask for that?"

"Dummy, if you plan to chase and make your dreams then might as well know what route you're going to take in the future." answered Suzuki.

"T...To be honest, I do not know yet. Sorry." I replied. "What about you?"

I...It's not that I am heavily curious but.... she started it so there's nothing wrong if I asked a single question.

"I am planning to take astronomy." revealed Suzuki.

"Astronomy? The one that studies the planets, stars, and the like?"

"Yes." she responded. "Since I was a kid, my parents often go on a road tour in the mountains.

Are her parents the adventurous type of people? (^^;)

"We often camp, that's a given." added Suzuki. "These experiences made me discover the beauty of stars."

"Stars?"

"Even the galaxies, I like them so much. It was and always be a feast in my eyes to witness the marvelous beauty of the night sky." retorted Suzuki.

She looks so pleased talking about it. I...I wonder but this makes me glad too inside.

"Though the past few years, we haven't been able to camp anymore. How unfortunate." disclosed Suzuki.

"Why so?"

"My dad became too busy with work. He was promoted in their jobs, and that equates to a larger salary but more labor. His time for his family have lessened." revealed Suzuki.

"Then, you're with your Mom, right? Why don't you two go out sometimes?"

"Well, she can't drive a car plus.... she doesn't do well in public transportations." answered Suzuki.

"Doesn't do well? For what reason?"

"She was part of a huge train accident years before I was born. Since then, the trauma has been instilled into her head." responded Suzuki.

T...That was a bit shocking. I...I shouldn't have asked. (ー∀ー;)

"I...Is that so.... I hope she's doing well now."

"Thank you, Tanaka." expressed Suzuki. "By the way, do you like the stars?"

"Hmm as a kid, I didn't really appreciate it since I was inclined in playing video games."

"I...I thought so...." retorted Suzuki.

Why does she look a little disappointed? (ーー;)

"Though when I was like 5 years old, I remembered that I was on a trip with my family. It was summer vacation, I think." I responded. "There was this night that I got lost in the forest while we were on the way back to the inn that we are supposed to stay in."

"Tell me more. I'm interested." requested Suzuki.

"Everything is vague to me now but I recall that I found myself on an open grassy field that night. I was crying in fear because I want to go to back to the inn."

"Hmm? And then?" said Suzuki.

"I thought I was alone but there was this long haired kid carrying a picture book." I revealed. "She was not crying. Instead, she approached me and asked if I liked the stars. At first, I ignored her and continued crying because my priority was to go back to my parents."

"What did the kid do to you next?" asked Suzuki.

Wow, she's legit curious in my minor backstory.

"She insisted me to look in the sky." I responded. "I might be certain that I stopped crying back that moment and I was in awe due to the stars glittering above me. I was so amazed. Thanks to her, I actually appreciated something other than digital things."

"Can you remember who that kid was?" inquired Suzuki.

"Well, I asked her name and I couldn't remember it anymore neither her face. Everything was 95% vague, you know." ┐(´д`)┌

"Ho~ Quite a flirt even if you was a kid. Hmm...." mocked Suzuki.

"I was not flirting! I don't even know what that means before!" (〃>_<;〃)

"Have you ever planned on studying the stars? I'm just curious." asked Suzuki.

"Hmm well, I do like stars and constellations but I feel that it is not for me, at least for now."

The truth is I heard that there are a lot of maths involved in that career choice that's why I am still reluctant about it. Hehe.

"Tanaka, whatever path you're going to take, I am here to support you." promised Suzuki as she gives me a smile.

"M...Me too. I have your back." I answered. "I somehow feel better now. Let's continue, Suzuki."

"That's the spirit, Tanaka. Prepare yourself and I'm going to feed you a lot of knowledge, okay?" praised Suzuki.

"Yes, sensei!" ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ

Though seriously, I got curious about that kid. Who was she, anyway?

Argh, I have no idea. I just hope she's living her life.

Ugh, Tanaka! Midterms first! Midterms!
