I was in a daze as I looked around as a nurse tapped me on the shoulder. She pointed at the door and I sidestepped out of the way in embarrassment but she did not walk through the door but looked at me. She wasn't looking at my face but more at the wounds on my body.
"Your wounds looks to be caused by a sharp object, nearly five or six inches in length." She calmly described the weapon of Magma Corps, of Spectre's knife. As she described my wounds and the cause of it, she took notes and was about to call a doctor but was interrupted by a loud voice.
"Oi kid! Over here!" Shouted the scarred man that lead me to the infirmary but he became stunned at the sight of the nurse beside me.
"Is that you little Amanda! Why are you here, your father hasn't told me about your visit." The scarred man was excited and walked towards our location. The nurse, Amanda became happy but then her face turned crimson at the word the man called her.
Amanda bowed and greeted the man, "Hello Uncle, I am a novice under the tutelage of Expert Ferguson. I wanted to surprise you first but that's not going to happen now." She pouted a little bit but recovered her professional face.
I left them as soon as Amanda's uncle walked to her and went to where the scarred man was when he called me over. I saw only one door so I went towards the doorknob but was startled at the sudden opening that showed a sophisticated man wearing a hakama greeting me.
"Hello youngster, I hear from August that you got injured?" Said the man who I presume to be Expert Ferguson. I nodded and he led me into his lab where he told me to sit on a tatami, or a mat. I saw him go towards the back of his lab and come out with a mortar and pestle, carrying around a handful of three different types of medicinal herbs and a pouch.
Seeing the pouch made me recall the pouch Blaine had given me and I dug it out from my bag. Right when I got it out, Expert Ferguson had finished his preparations and turned towards me to see the pouch that had a symbol of a volcano with a flame on it.
'Oh? A Rookie with Blaine's insignia on it? Interesting..' Expert Ferguson looked intensely at the pouch and I noticed his intense gaze and brought it up.
"Do you know Blaine, Expert Ferguson?" I asked
"We used to be part of the same team and we were classmates at one point. Now let's see what Blaine has given me." Ferguson responded and I handed him the pouch but he put it on a counter and proceeded to grind the aforementioned herbs, the contents of his pouch, and a flask of water to make a slurry paste.
As he finished, he emptied the contents of the mortar into a wooden bowl and we heard someone knocking on the door before the scarred man, presumably August entered the room with Amanda. As Ferguson looked at Amanda his face showed some shock.
"Oh right, I have an apprentice under me now.. I forgot about you Amanda, so you'll have to learn about this paste another time." Ferguson recovered from the situation and turned towards me.
"Okay Rookie, this paste should be enough. You're not bleeding excessively so normal herbs are good enough for you, apply it now." He finished his explanation as he returned his attention to Blaine's pouch.
"You got a Zyx Band kid? Have to call your parents." August told and I shook my head which made August turn towards Ferguson. He tried to call Ferguson but had to tap him on the shoulder to discuss the issue.
"So what, do it yourself August!" Ferguson returned his attention to the pouch but August took the pouch.
"Oh? What's in this? It would be a shame if Rose knew anything about it.. if it's herbs then she'll tear it apart.." August threatened with a smile while Ferguson became red and looked as if he was going to explode but his skin returned back to a tan color.
"Bastard.." Ferguson muttered but August heard it and tapped on a watch on his left wrist. Ferguson looked at August and tried to calm him down.
"Wait I mean I'm the bastard, don't do it August!" August smirked and gave the pouch back to Ferguson.
Meanwhile when August first approached Ferguson, I had taken my shirt off so I could apply the paste but Amanda offered her help to which I accepted. It was nice to have a girl apply this stuff on me anyways, rather than me doing it myself.
"Thanks, I'm Adam what's your name?" I spoke as just total silence between us would be awkward, at least for me.
"Amanda, but don't you already know it? My uncle isn't exactly quiet." Amanda said while she applied the paste on my stomach.
"I would rather hear that from the person whom the information belongs to, plus it's nice to know people." I closed my eyes as I felt the warmth of Amanda's hands over my torso. Amanda saw my eyes close and she began to blush a little but maintained a professional appearance.
"Oi kid, wake up." August had just finished bullying Ferguson and saw the kid he met an hour ago enjoying the touch of his niece applying the paste. A tick mark appeared in the corner of his head but Ferguson began laughing hysterically at August's irritated face.
Amanda looked at the situation and blushed crazily as she quickly and efficiently bandaged me, she practically sprinted out of the room using the excuse that she remembered someone was asking for her help.
August began calming down until Ferguson spoke.
"If I remember correctly, isn't Amanda eleven? Hey Rookie, how old are you?" August began to kick Ferguson and chased him all over the infirmary while I wore my torn shirt and walked out of the infirmary and out of the Poke' Adventurer Association.
I saw Blaine waiting outside with his Ride Pokemon and he looked at me.
"How's the Adventurer Association?" He asked me with a smirk and I replied with another smirk.
"Alright, we still have to travel to Slateport City to get something first." I nodded and we rode back to the S.S. Pyro so we could depart quickly. As we finished the last preparations I saw Amanda at the docks looking at me and I left the Pyro to talk to her.
"Did August realize I left already? Ferguson wondering where I am?" I asked, question after question but she didn't respond to any until I asked the final question.
"When did you realize I left?" I finally asked.
"Were you going to tell me that you were leaving? I know we just met but we should at least be notified that you left.." She responded weakly.
"Why are you so upset? We met each two hours ago and the amount of time we interacted with each other total twenty minutes." I asked but for some reason Amanda just got choked up and tears started to trickle down her face.
"Just breathe, take a deep breath and exhale. In through your nose and out through your mouth. I'm sorry that I made you cry but why are you crying?" I asked.
"I don't know either.. I just feel that I might have lost something when I didn't see you leave with Uncle August and Sensei Ferguson." Amanda slowly explained.
"What's your dream Amanda? My dream is to be the trainer that can hold up the skies, to protect the people, and to destroy those that wish otherwise. I can't always be there for you but I will try, to achieve great heights is to try to achieve the impossible!" I stated confidently and Amanda stopped crying, she began to figure out what she wanted to do and not what her family wanted her to do.
"I.. I want to build the bridge between Pokemon and humans, pointless wars and battles to decide the victor shows too much bloodshed.." Amanda looked at the night sky while I looked at her and my heart began to beat.
"I still have a long journey ahead and I won't be by you right now but know that a part of me will be." As I spoke, Amanda broke out of her trance and began to blush. She blushed even more when I moved behind her and told her to close her eyes. I took off the necklace that my mother gave me as a present and fixed it upon Amanda's milk white neck. Seeing her eyes were still closed I quickly moved my head and kissed her neck.
She yelped and moved forward in surprise as she stared at me with her crimson face but looked at the new jewelry on her neck. Amanda looked at the bright and elegant necklace in ecstasy as she looked at me.
"It was a gift from my mother but I want you to have it until we meet again." I said and walked back towards the Pyro, leaving her standing where she was at until someone came up behind her.
"My lady, the Patriarch, your father has called for your presence." Amanda simply ignored the existence behind her as she watched Adam walk away but the person behind her moved their hand towards her shoulder.
"The Joy Family should really learn their manners, especially a dog under the Elder's Council." Spoke a scarred man, August.
"The Jenny Family should also learn where their boundaries lie, especially you, Champion August." Another voice besides August and the one behind Amanda, a woman in a violet dress covered by a royal purple coat spoke.
"And the Joy Family should know their powers do not exceed my Jackson Family, especially your so called 'Elder's Council'. Amanda Joy is under the protection of Champion August and City Master Ferguson. Furthermore August, you are not apart of the Jenny Family until your duty is completed, as is the rule. Now, disperse or I shall wipe out every Elder and cleanse your family of infighting for the next fifty years."
The lady of Jackson looked at Amanda who was not bothered with the situation behind her and then looked at the youth that caught her eye.
"He is not a simple person, he is one of the heirs to the Battle Branch of the Oak Family and also the only heir of the Mythril Family. He also has the true support of the Infernal Saint and the entirety of the Kanto Region. Mind your future Amanda, for many others have their eyes on him as well, including the heiress of the Jackson Family and the heiress of the Jenny Family."
The lady of Jackson left quickly as August approached Amanda and spoke a few words to which Amanda turned and walked in the shadows of the lighthouse.
Not knowing of the tense situation I had left behind I felt incredibly loose and more carefree than I was before when I walked towards the Pyro. I felt as if I could reach the apex immediately but then remembered that I had to call mom that I had given my keystone away and my carefree expression fell as I thought about my dream of becoming a Titan, the apex of the world, more powerful than Continental Masters.
I stepped onto the Pyro and Blaine set sail immediately towards Slateport City, the first step towards becoming the Victor of the U-18 Youth Tournament. I released Elekid, Magby, and Duskull to train their moves with Duskull just trying to use Shadow Ball, the other Pokemon that I had caught were transferred to Professor Oak. From the shore you could see a boat that had three different lights appearing near it, a purple light, red light, and yellow light.
