50,000 years ago, Hell was destroyed because of too much Foul from the resentment of the souls that later turned to Soul Eaters and devoured everything in their wake, leaving nothing of Hell. The gods above in Heaven, in order to take care of the newly-died souls, created the Afterlife Department comprised of grim reapers. 

Huo Ling was delivering food that day when he met Yi Bing and the guy gave him a warning. When he arrived to the customer's unit, he was killed.

"Xin Wen! You are still alive!" Zi Xun exclaimed when he, Di San, Gu Shi, and Shen Sheng who just suddenly appeared, saw Xin Wen through Huo Ling's communicator after Huo Ling called the Afterlife Department since Yi Bing's communicator was busy after he tried to call it earlier to tell him about Xin Wen.

"Director, do you actually want me to die?" Xin Wen joked. After all, they are already dead, so how can they die? "I am really sorry. It was due to my negligence what is happening right now." He said and sighed, looking guilty.

"No. It was not your fault. No one expected for you to actually stumble upon the movie world instead of the real world." Gu Shi said. He felt pity as he looked at Xin Wen's face full of bruises caused by the Soul Eater.
