The queen shut her eyes in annoyance, and the founders appeared at the doorway they let themselves in. "Seize her," The Queen ordered. "What, no I'm going with you," Yeongjun said while swatting their hands away aimlessly. "if you come with me know that you will not be the same." The queen warned Yeongjun, she knew it was risky after being exposed to the queen's unstable power, it roamed in her restless mind. The second The Queen dies is when she risks losing her memory completely. She didn't trust any words seeping from the queen's mouth. She just knew she wasn't going to let her die. The founders lead them underground, steep stone steps guided them to a dead end. "Beyond is a city of the dead so you can only go through when you are dead," The Queen informed. "This has to be some kind of riddle there is no way that she is going to kill me I swear I'm going to haunt the hell out of her if this doesn't go right." Yeongjun thought. "this form is temporary so calm yourself," she reassured. Her eyes changed a pale color she then screeched at Yeongjun and her soul left her body. She stared at the queen not knowing what just happened only that she was filled with a strange feeling surging through her body like a cleanse. The founders dragged her fleshly body to a room with an outlandish circle engraved in the ground. Her eyes saw into this city she spoke of, Yeongjun saw enough magic within the queen's court she was not surprised by how unseemly the air felt. They both walked in greeted by people with wounds inflicted upon them, some had missing limbs, and others were old and decrepit. It was hard to look away from them. "So does this mean you are alive and dead my queen," Yeongjun asked. "Yes, that is how I can leave here, now no more questions save it for later," the Queen told her sternly. They approached the towering settlement, and the dead began to gawk at them. Questioning their presence near the entrance. "This is my home stay close and don't look at the mirrors, and don't look into my mother's eyes, understand?" The Queen warned her. "Yes I will be right behind you," she replied with annoyance in her voice. They drew close to the throne room, Yeongjun then saw the mirrors built into the walls from her peripheral's a force whispered for her to look into them. The temptation to look grew in her mind. "Are you even listening?" The Queen kept asking "Close your eyes and don't listen to the voices," The Queen sighed noticing her panic. They approached a temple that was past the corridors. the queen signaled fifteen founders in to assassinate her mom. In a few moments, there was a storm of cries, the queen rushed in to see and there were only five of them left remaining, "You murdered my son and my people you will pay with your life," The Queen promised her. The woman stood before her in a blood-soaked gown. "That makes us even," the old woman gave a vain smile like it was something to be proud of. The queen's eyes began to glow while she tried to grasp control of herself. "I think those will be your last words," she proclaimed before forming a dark cloud around the old woman. she then grabbed a bloodied sword from one of the founder's bodies and entered the mist. Yeongjun did the same and entered behind her and immediately lost her. She heard laughter and the queen's outcry nearby. She stumbled over the founder's bodies and saw they were vanishing into the dust of the realm. "Die!" The Queen yelled. She swung the sword at her skull, she then dodged to the side and slashed her arm. The woman shrieked and a sword from the ground raced to wound The Queen's back. It went through the right side of her chest she instantly dropped to her knees. The woman began to let out a vile laugh as she swiftly moved backward to the point of Yeongjun's sword. She viciously stabbed the woman, interrupting her laugh. She stumbled around for a moment then into Yeongjun's arms. You will be soulless like the rest of them I curse you to be the same as her, she said with excitement before becoming lifeless with the eerie smile still on her face. Move!, The queen warned her while she pulled the sword out of herself so the wound would heal. But she didn't warn her fast enough, the curse left her body and went through Yeongjun's eyes and chest. She glared at the corpse beside her as it began to fade. The Queen ran to her trying to inflict the curse on herself. Yeongjun's vision blurred she was unsure if she was seeing the outline of the queen or not. "Don't let me die, I'm not ready to," Yeongjun uttered in a faint tone. They rushed back to the entrance and quickly merged Yeongjun back into her body she began to pant her lungs screamed for air she then threw up thick black liquid. The Queen handed her a pill like it would be enough to atone for what she was about to tell her. "If you take this every day you will live for a few weeks but if you're lucky, maybe a month you will have an untimely death." The Queen revealed to her with a vacant expression on her face. That was the final repercussion that had her faith in herself wavering. From this moment she had no resolve to even try and figure out what could be done about the humans trapped in the city of Aurora. She no longer wanted the obligation to be a beacon of hope for her people but for herself. She already failed them and it became time for her to determine whether she would die as a terrible figure to the people she loved. Or continue to fight for the honor of who she was once responsible to be. Both options seemed tiresome, but she knew deep down what she wanted to accomplish and restore before her life was taken by her circumstance.
