Ceaseless trail

The queen's grief manipulated her, giving her a comfortable sense of having all things under her restraint. It took everything in her to not kill Yeongjun where she stood, engulfed with no words that would cease her, or change what could have happened in seconds. "There was no denying I could have died," Yeongjun thought with fear while clutching tightly to a cup of water. She sipped the cold liquid out on a balcony with stairs leading into an outside lake, she sat the cup down on the smooth table she rested at, her eyes then gazed into the obscure starry night expecting the queen to storm in and execute her with her bare hands. She watched the Clouds close and ready a small storm, it started to pour shortly after, and a modest smile formed on Yeongjun's face remembering a fond childhood memory. She slipped out of her clothes leaving her undergarments on before leaping in the water. She poked her head out the door telling her guards she is not to be disturbed. She then sprinted into the cold body of water instantly getting her mind off things she didn't want to think about a list of things. She shivered in the water until she got used to it and went limb. To peacefully float along with her eyes shut feeling the light pat of rain tickle her body. The queen performed a ritual with a bloody heart dripping in a bowl of water, she muttered a nameless language from an external part of herself that doesn't belong. Yeongjun memories that were taken began to resurface in her mind, in disbelief she swam back to the ledge she leaped from. Resting her head, she felt a surging force within her body it began to drain while reliving the pain that was forgotten she struggled to drag herself from the water. Yeongjun let out an unnerving scream, she couldn't move her body at all the ringing in her ears shut out sound entirely. in a fleet moment, The Queen paused in front of her, "having fun were you," the queen giggle with fake amusement, "If you going to kill me just do it," Yeongjun huffed frazzled by her powers, "try to remember that I can make you forget, again, you just need to say the word," The Queen spoke helping her up. Yeongjun's face showed she considered it. "Please," she pleaded not looking her in the eye, "If you don't mean it I won't do it," The Queen muttered with an empty expression. She waited for an answer to escape her lips. She was about to take her to leave but Yeongjun's damp hand latched onto the queen's arm, "Don't go, take these memories away I don't need them, and make me forget who I am, I can't take this anymore, I miss my family," she denounced. The queen's demeanor was still blank and cold she had to have heard those words numerous times Yeongjun thought. Her hands took hold of both sides of her head," Wait, don't, I can't go through with this," Yeongjun pulled back leaning on the railing. "Thanks for listening and giving my memory back, and surprisingly not killing me," The queen's face lit up with uncontrollable laughter at her remark. Confusion was written all over Yeongjun's face, "she can take a joke, I thought I was going to be fish bait I shouldn't test my luck and just keep my pretty mouth shut." she wished still awkwardly grinning, "I can hear your thoughts you know, it doesn't last long only five more minutes because our minds are connected. It takes a few minutes for it to wear off," the queen sighed. "Sorry, Then why can't I hear yours," Yeongjun asked with hesitation. "You are human, that's all I'm going to tell you, don't ask any more questions. Three more days of pretending, plus the assurance of your safety. Then you will visit your home," the queen arranged. "thank you, my queen," Yeongjun smiled treasuring those words she longed to hear. Yeongjun understood she had to make the people there believe they are married and in love. She followed the queen wrapped her outer dress around Yeongjun's body in front of the servants who held questioning gazes and viewed the scene before them yearning to be her for a day. The servants stepped in and lead Yeongjun to a steaming pool of water, "leave me," Yeongjun ordered, they bowed and took their leave she slipped her clothes off and stepped into the soothing water overjoyed with how calm she was. If only it was like this every day she mumbled fiddling with a cloth and casket of flowers while washing herself she then spotted a white spec beneath the overlay of vibrant florals, you will face what she reaps Unfortunately, Yeongjun read. The flame began to consume the note she tried to blow it out for evidence but it wouldn't go out. The flame caressed her hand causing her to drop it in the water. It is odd it keep burning despite that Yeongjun noted rushing out of the bath slipping around a little trying to fit in clothes too quickly that were lying on an end table near the wide door. She moved with haste to inform the queen, the servants stumbled trying to keep up, my queen, "It is urgent-" she started "Come here," The Queen interrupted her, the queen looked through her memory and saw the note, my mother may kill you next, but don't fret, I won't let her take anything more away from me, Yeongjun realize she could not see her family if she is assassinated, "won't people think something is wrong if you take action now, I know what you are going to do next," Yeongjun warned. "You don't know how I became queen, I used my powers to get here. I'm going to protect my people, I will kill her even if it does mean I could potentially lose my ability to come to this realm anymore. The queen stated, "I'm only bringing the founders, who are my people they will have the ability to bring me back, if you come you will die," the queen told her. "But if I stay and you die the power you gave to the founders will vanish and I will forget more than what was originally taken and I will forget my family. I know that because my family hates your kind. This isn't a debate take me with you," Yeongjun protested. Enter at your own risk I'm not protecting you the queen glared. I don't need you to protect me Yeongjun testified with annoyance.
