The Princess

The boy stood in front of the doors of the Throne Room as he thought. "What is going on?" He looked over at the girl, his Mother's First Guardian, who was beside him.

The girl clenched her left hand together and placed it on the center of her chest she then said to the boy. "Would you still like to see my lady, my lord?"

The boy thought. "Still like to see her?" He looked back at the girl sitting on the throne and thought. "So that really is Sister sitting on Father's throne..."

The girl said again. "Would you still like to see my lady, my lord?"

The boy mumbled. "Yeah..."

The girl bowed and said. "As you wish, my lord." She began to walk into the Throne Room as the boy walked behind her.

As the boy and the girl walked into the Throne Room together the boy looked to his right. He saw the three women standing completely still. The expression on their faces remained unchanged.

The boy looked to his right. He saw the two men standing completely still. The expression on their faces remained unchanged.

The boy continued walking. He looked up at his sister who was sitting on the throne. His light silver eyes made eye contact with her yellow eyes. She placed her right hand on her chin and a mischievous smirk appeared on her face as she watched the boy walk toward her.

The boy continued walking toward his sister. As he got closer to her the two men by the left of the throne and the three women by the right of the throne suddenly all grabbed the hilt of their swords with their left hands at the same time. The boy suddenly stopped walking. He looked at the two men on the left and then the three women on the right as he thought. "What is going on? This has never happened before." He looked up at his sister again.

The boy's sister continued to smirk as she sat on top of the throne. She stared at the boy intently and then suddenly said as her smirk widened. "Who is the person with you, Little Brother?"

The boy had a confused expression on his face as he thought. "Sister doesn't know her?" He looked over at the girl known as his Mother's First Guardian and thought. "But isn't she Mother's First Guardian?" He looked back at his sister again.

The boy's sister looked over at the girl known as the boy's Mother's First Guardian. Her smirk had disappeared and she said in a serious tone. "State your name."

The girl faced the boy's sister. She clenched her left hand together and put her left hand on the center of her chest as she bowed and said. "Her Highness's First Guardian Alessia, my lady."

The boy's sister said. "Mother's First Guardian?" A slight smirk formed on her lips as she said. "Oh? Is that so? I received no report that Mother had ever received a new Guardian."

The boy heard a girl say. "What she says is true, my lady. She is Her Highness's First Guardian."

The boy looked at the source of the voice. The girl in her mid teens with the short black hair at the end of the column, who was farthest from the boy's sister, had her left hand clenched together and placed on the center of her chest as she bowed.

The boy could also see the two other girls beside the girl with short black hair as well as the two men to the right. They had all removed their left hands from the hilt of their swords.

The boy's sister looked at the woman who had short black hair and said. "Oh? Is that so? And how long has the First Guardian been serving Mother, Second Guardian?"

The girl with the short black hair known as her Mother's Second Guardian stood up straight and stated. "She has been serving Her Highness for a week, my lady."

A mischievous smirk appeared on the face of the boy's sister as she looked at her Mother's Second Guardian and said. "A week? Is that so? So then why am I only just hearing about this now?"

Her Mother's Second Guardian's left hand remained clenched together on the center of her chest as she said. "Her Highness was waiting to make the announcement until Her Highness's First Guardian received her official armor set and sword, my lady."

The boy's sister's mischievous smirk changed into a mischievous grin as she said. "Oh? Is that so?" She tapped the fingers of her right hand across her chin as she looked at her Mother's Second Guardian and said. "Is that what Mother told you to say?"

Her Mother's Second Guardian said. "Ye-" She suddenly stopped herself. She looked up at the boy's sister with a worried expression.

The boy's sister looked back at her Mother's Second Guardian and continued to grin as she waited for her Mother's Second Guardian to say something.

The Queen's Second Guardian looked around the room. She continued to look worried as she said. "I mean-"

The boy suddenly interrupted the Queen's Second Guardian as he said. "Wait, Sister!"

Everyone turned and looked at the boy including the Guardians who paid no attention to him before.

The boy's sister looked at the boy and said. "What is it, Little Brother?"

The boy said. "I don't understand what is going on. Why are you questioning Mother's Guardians? Why are Mother's Guardians even here?" He looked to the right and then to the left of the room as he said. "Isn't this Father's Throne Room?" He looked at his sister and asked. "Why are you even here?"

The boy's sister said. "You want to know why I'm here?"

The boy nodded.

The boy's sister smirked and said. "That's all?" She laughed to herself as she said. "Well that is quite simple. I'm here because I chose to be."

The boy looked at his sister with a confused look as he said. "What? I still don't understand..."

The boy's sister mumbled to herself. "How should I explain this?" She stared at the ground as she thought deeply.

Everyone stared at the boy's sister as they all waited for her answer.

The boy's sister suddenly mumbled. "Oh I know!" She looked over at the two men standing by the left side of the throne. She looked back at the boy and said. "You remember the Kingdom of Maxidus, right?"

The boy thought. "What is she talking about?" He said to his sister. "Kingdom of Maxidus? What is that?"

The boy's sister sighed and said. "I've definitely told you about it before. But, anyways it is a Kingdom to our Northeast and they've been-"

The boy suddenly interrupted his sister and said. "Wait, to our East? I thought you said that this Kingdom is the farthest East. How can there be a Kingdom to our East if we are the farthest East?"

The boy's sister sighed and said. "No, I said that this Kingdom is the farthest East in the Empire. The Kingdom of Maxidus is not part of the Empire."

The boy looked at his sister with a confused expression as he thought. "What?"

The boy's sister said. "Well anyways as I was saying before. The Kingdom of Maxidus has gained a lot of strength recently. A boy called Alex Maxidus is already stronger than all of his Kingdom's Guardians and has managed to capture the Kingdom of Mars. There are even rumors that he is stronger than his father King Minos Maxidus."

Out of the corner of the boy's right eye he saw his Mother's Second Guardian suddenly perk up. She had an excited expression on her face.

A confused expression remained plastered to the boy's face as he said. "I don't get it... Who is Alex Maxidus? What does he have to do with anything?"

The boy's sister was about to say something but then the man with the light green hair at the end of the column spoke. He clenched his left hand together and placed it on the center of his chest. He said to the boy's sister. "Pardon my interjection my lady but doesn't the young master need to attend the Ceremony? I heard his Supreme Majesty will be at the Ceremony. If the young master is held up any longer it will upset his Supreme Majesty."

The boy thought. "Wait did he say... his Supreme Majesty? Does he mean... Grandfather?!"

The boy's sister placed her hand on her chin again and said. "I suppose you have a point. I do not wish to upset Grandfather. He'll bury this whole nation if he gets upset." She looked at the man with the light green hair and said. "Second Guardian."

The man with the light green hair, known as her Father's Second Guardian, said while his clenched left hand remained placed over the center of his chest. "Yes, my lady!"

The boy's sister said. "You will act as Little Brother's second escort, is that understood?"
