A life full of lies

The class was just about to start, and Emiko looks so mad and at the same time, she is sweaty like she was so nervous. Eito was looking at her and he notice something strange.

"She looks so uneasy, well she was like that before but... yeah I almost forgot, I gave her a letter out of nowhere and I think this is just normal"

*School bell rings*

"Yo, Toshiaki"

"Oh yes, let's have a lunch together now... my mom did not make a lunch today"

"Sure"

The two make their way to the cafeteria, while Emiko was the only one who didn't left the classroom. She thinks hard about something that really bothers her and she looks so mad.

"W-what does she wants?"

A few hours later, it is time for them to go home.

"Okay class, you may go home now"

All of the students make their way home. But Eito asked Toshiaki to leave him behind.

"Toshi, leave me behind, I have something work to do"

"Ehh?? What kind of work"

"Well uhmm... Ms. Nakamura asks me to help her arrange the folders so, I can't go home with you now"

"Jeez, you really are hopeless... then see ya tomorrow pal"

"Yeah, see ya"

The two separates, and Eito was about to go to the rooftop to see if Emiko accepted the letter. He opens the door on the rooftop and he finds Emiko staring blankly on the buildings.

"So she accepted it huh... oh well, this will be a good opportunity"

Eito wave his hand on the air.

"Oi!"

Eito walks closely to Emiko.

"Glad you didn't refuse the letter hehe"

"Shut up... just tell me what you were gonna say"

"Oh well... is there something bothering you? Like do you have any problems you want to talk about?"

Emiko rolled her eyes and tch'ed him.

"So I'm right, you were eavesdropping that day"

Eito was shocked that he never expected that answer coming from her.

"Is she bluffing or she is telling the truth? But I'm cornered now so I have no choice... uhmm, how did you know, I'm sure you didn't saw me that time"

"You really don't observe well, you think I won't see you at the reflection of the vending machine?"

Eito tries to remember it then he shake his head, showing that he is really guilty.

"Okay I admit it, I heard everything you said to the person behind the line and al~"

"It was tragic back then..."

*Flash back of Emiko's memories*

I live in a normal life back then, along with my mom and dad, we always laugh and we really care about each other. Those times and moments making me wish that it would last forever and ever. Until one day, my dad goes to his work, he hugs me like that would be our last but, I was so delighted that day so I didn't suspect something suspicious and same goes to mom. I waited for one day, knowing that he'll be back but it feels like something's wrong, it's been three days and still, he didn't return.... then I asked mom if dad is okay, but she is also crying holding her phone and she answered me "Yes, he's okay Emi" then she hugs me so tight. Three months have passed and still, I am hoping that he'll return, after a few days, a expensive car came outside our gate, I saw it while I'm looking at the window in my room, the door of the car has been opened and I saw dad holding a bouquet of flowers with an envelope, and I was really happy and excited that I can't even move my legs... but, my mom walk towards him and then she suddenly hit him, after that, they were both crying and mom keeps refusing the bouquet of flowers and the envelope. My dad leaves after they argue, then he leaves even without seeing or talking to me. While we were eating our dinner, I ask my mom about my dad.

"Mom... why dad didn't come to see me? Why did he leave again despite of being gone for so many days? Why mom, answer me"

"Emi... your dad is not your dad anymore, I will not leave you Emi... no matter what happen, I could be your dad and mom at the same time, and I will always love you"

Then my mom hugs me and we both cried, I don't know what was happening back then but I know something is not right. Since that day, my mom finds a job, she work part-time at the convenience store and she also makes pots or urns then sell it. She's been like that for so many months... however, a tragic happened, she collapsed while watering our plants, then I call for an ambulance. We have arrived at the hospital and I'm waiting for the results, then the doctor approach me at the sit and said that my mom had a serious illness. When the time comes that I could visit her in the room, I was feeding her, clean her, and help my mom to the comfort room. It's only been weeks but my mom passed away, her body is lifeless but there's still a smile on my mom's face, after that, I still live on our home but, this time, I live with my aunt who was really strict. My aunt force me to do all of the household chores and cook for ourselves. I'm really sad and I feel like I lost everything that day. I blame my dad for all of the bad lucks, he didn't even visit my mom's funeral that time, I always believe that life is a lie and love is a lie... me, mom, and dad promised that we will never leave each other, but my dad didn't hold on, my dad used to say to me "I will always be with you, and your mother, Emi" and now I found those are lies disguise in love, then I hated the meaning love, because love is just a lie.

Eito suddenly offering a handkerchief in front of her eyes, Emiko didn't realize that tears are already coming out of her eyes.

"Stop that, that's enough Emiko... you seem really hurt back then and sorry for giving you a bad impression but you know... love is always in our lives"

"Tch... What makes you say that?

"There's a reason why your mother smile the day she passed away, she smiles because she believes that you can do it without her, despite of being left by your father, but she knows that you are strong enough and she may not be with you this time but her love for you still remains in your heart, she gives her love and hope on you, hoping that you will be successful someday... after all, love is cannot be seen but you can feel it on the bottom of your heart"

Emiko was surprised by the words came out from Eito's mouth.

"I sound so smart back there but I only got that on the Rom-com anime I watch last week, oh well better to go now, at least I have talk to her"

Eito walks away to leave the rooftop but when he was about to leave, Emiko said something to him.

"Thank you... For listening and accepting me as a friend"

"Yeah, you're always welcome"

Eito leaves the rooftop and make his way home, after a few minutes, Emiko also return to her home.
