I flinched when I noticed that he held his gaze with mine.
It felt so strange yet so realistic.
There was only one thing stuck on my mind at this moment. It was that there is no escaping once you've locked your eyes on his.
I have just noticed it now but Charles eyes were actually glazed with a very warm dark brown caramel like color, it looked so beautiful you would not want to look elsewhere. They're so dark and clear like the galaxy and it feels like they were staring at me like they were trying to pry me open. Like he was effortlessly trying to read my mind.
I woke up when he suddenly coughed out of the weird atmosphere and I immediately flushed just being reminded as to how I got the audacity to stare at him that way.
"Uhmm.. So, what should we do now?" I immediately looked at my wristwatch the moment he asked and I answered him with a question, "What time will the fireworks display start?"
"Exactly 8 pm, I guess" he replied and so I looked in the direction of the Ferris Wheel and bit my lips, contemplating for a few minutes and then finally looked at his direction
"Charles?"
"Yes?"
"Can you... Ride the Ferris wheel with me?" I asked and he showed a shocked expression at first which was later then replaced with a faint smile "Sure. Should we head there now?" I immediately nodded while smiling
He got up and stretched his body for a few seconds. After stretching, what he did next made my heart flutter. I was surprised because he reached his hand out to me and tried to hide his smile through his other free hand saying, "Well, in case you'd get lost again"
I pursed my lips and clutched at the fabric covering my chest like it could help me calm my fast beating heart out.
Do I like Charles?
"Excuses," I replied and on cue, he laughed and pulled out my hand and felt like a prince who was helping his princess to stand. A very gentlemanly gesture, I might say
I don't know and I'm not sure yet.
"Let's go," he stated and I nodded as we started to walk side by side to the direction of the Ferris wheel.
Thinking about how I'm about to ride the Ferris Wheel with him and in the heart shaped one to top it off, I didn't feel offended or the least bit disgusted and all.
This is the last day of our outing. I think I might want an answer for my questions now.
