2.3-Dorms are Pretty Dangerous, You Know?

I stayed silent until we reached the dorms, where Celia separated with me and Tachino.

"Hey, hey, Kian. Did you see me with those cool moves I made on Celia?"

"What do you mean Tachino, all you did was yelling 'help Kian' with your eyes."

Tachino seemed stunned, as h thought back of the situation. I'm pretty sure he made up 90% of what he thought he did in his mind.

"W-well, at least I was able to handle those seniors! Kian, if you see me prepared with my martial arts skills, you would know how good I can get!"

Right.

"But how were you able to quickly grab that jerk's arm before it reached Celia? I sure couldn't see it coming."

Is this, curiosity? Or is he trying to figure something out?

"I went through some classes."

"Oh, really? What classes?"

Nevermind. He's just curious about what classes I take so he can get whatever "skill" I use.

"...Art classes."

"...What?"

"...?"

There was a silence among both of us until Tachino broke it.

"Hahaha. You're joking, right?"

"No."

"..."

"..."

Another long pause.

"Are you sure you learned to react that fast with just art classes?"

"No, I took soccer classes-"

"Oh, of course! You increased your speed by practicing with soccer!"

"-for a week and then I gave up on it."

"..."

"..."

We reached the front desk and a middle-aged man, bald, smiled at us as we greeted him.

"H-hello. Are you here t-to sign up for the new d-dorms?"

"Ah, yes!"

Tachino seemed very excited about this dorm, not caring about the bald man's reaction. He looked as if he was...

"R-right, here. This i-is a mini bag. P-please fold your map to fit in this b-bag. T-this will -h help y-you in the future."

Oh, what's this? A bag?

"Uhm, if you don't mind, wouldn't the map wrinkle if we leave it at a folded state for a period of time?" I asked him, and his tone suddenly changed. I was kind of shocked that my thinking was right.

"Tch, that map is a special one, so it won't leave any traces of folding even if you did. Here's your key. Now go away, dammit."

"Kian, you go ahead, I'll go after you go!"

"Right."

I took the elevators that were located right next to the front desk. The key was just a regular key, it wasn't a keycard or anything, it was a key. The security level here isn't really safe.

Wait, he hasn't told me what floor my room was at.

Luckily, the key had my dorm number on the front, so it was easy for me to figure it out. "480," I had to guess that it was. on the fourth floor.

I clicked the number 4 on the elevator, and off I went.

Ding! Fourth floor.

The door slowly opened, and just as I was about to walk out of the door, I had bumped into someone. I could've dodged it if they were going at a regular pace, but their movements were...fast. Very fast.

"I'm so sorry!"

"It's oka-"

"I'll pay you back later, I'm in a hurry right now!"

Pay me back?

How strange. You don't usually say "pay you back." Does he have something that important that he forgot about how to word his saying?

After I reached the fourth floor, I found my dorm number, "480" was not too far away from the elevators. In fact, there was even an emergency staircase right next to my room.

I turned the doorknob after putting in the keyhole, but the door jerked off several times. The door handle was broken.

After attempting to spin it around, the door finally swung open, and with that, I saw my own personal room. I placed the bag with the folded map on the side of a table, leaving the key on the hanger I found on the side of a wall.

I looked around the room.

Small, compact, with a table on the side of the room, and the bed right next to it. The bedsheets seemed alright, and I noticed a small kitchen area where there was a mini-fridge, big enough to store in ingredients, and a coffee pot. A note was on top of the counter.

"This is your kitchen area. In case of a fire, there is an emergency button to press on the side of the electronic stove. Only press it on an emergency situation. All the staff from the dorms will be on the way immediately.

P.S. There is a supermarket in which you will be able to buy things with your monthly allowance located on the first floor. Use your allowance carefully. Also, all the necessities needed for your days in dorms can be purchased from the many shops also located on the first floor. Things like clothing, entertainment, daily needs, academic supplies.

What a nice system, allowing students to handle money on their own. But in a way that's pretty dangerous. People who run out of their money would probably start asking for people if they can borrow it from them. Although they can wait for another month, to be honest, teens don't have that much patience. Later on, stealing from people would be an obvious situation that might happen.

Oh right, my allowance.

I found another note on the empty table with only a lamp on the side.

"You better make this place into a cozy room♡ Even though spending away your allowance can be a problem, but don't you think a nice setup table would get you to focus more? Here is a present for you! It's a lamp that can change into different colors! Red, blue, green... Oh right! There are different shades of whites you can turn into! By the way, you're probably wondering, 'where is my allowance?' Well, well, it's on your mailbox that has your dorm number on it! It will be sent each month there, and no worries! As long as you have your dorm key, you would be able to open it right away! Good luck, and keep your key safe♡♡

Why the hearts?

I grabbed my key and walked out of the door, locked it, and head down to the first floor.

As soon as I got out of the door, I saw the guy.
