"Hey hey, Kian. Can't you just help me out for once? You know, you're pretty tough and all, I saw you in the swimming class and you're built well you know? So please, help me out! You owe me one also, don't you?"
And another pain in the ass.
How it came down to this? Well, to be frank, I would need to go a while back, maybe a month or so, back to the first day of school.
[July, the 5th, the first day of school; primarily 3 p.m, after dorm meeting.]
The seventh letter, huh. What does she mean by that?
I guessed that it was some kind of a special letter since Ms. Serah only mentioned until the sixth letter. A letter not spoken by the school.
I left the classroom without looking back, but I could sense that her eyes were on me when I left. Although I ignored her, her stares were pretty creepy. The classrooms had windows that were visible from the outside, so I could sense her staring at me even after I have left the classroom.
As I walked through the hallways and down the stairs to the first floor, I saw students, Tachino and the blonde-haired girl were standing in front of the entrance, with five or so other students who looked like they were upperclassmen.
"Y-you guys, just wait and see, and I'll beat up everyone here! Celia, stay right behind me." Not only is Tachino straightforward, but he's also a big liar.
The blonde-haired girl's name was apparently Celia, she seemed to be liking the way of how Tachino spoke; such a weird girl, she first was disgusted with Tachino staring at her, and after he says a very, cringy, yet disturbing sentence, she brightens up and blushes right away.
"Oh ho, look at you, you won't even get into a good college If you kept on talking big mouths, dumbass."
"How's the cutie doing in the back?"
Celia glared at the student with a bad attitude like she was going to kill him instantly. Just then, Tachino turned around and saw me. His eyes were definitely saying, "help me, I'm very desperate!"
"Hey, who's that wimp over there just standing around?"
"I'm not sure, I'm just a classmate who's trying to get home," I replied.
"Oh really? Why don't you help out your little friends here? They seem to be in trouble."
"Ah, that. You see, I don't want to fight with someone, so I think I'm just going to talk it out. I don't see anything wrong with arguing and fighting, but you guys are the ones looking down on first years, and plus, there's five of you, and three of us, so aren't you guys who are wimps in a sense?"
"Tch, you bastard, you know you're trying to provoke us, right? Do you think we're gonna fall for those tricks? Haha, nice try though."
"Oh no, I was just...calling out people for being a 'wimp'."
"What did you just say!?"
"Hans, let's get them, we stand above them anyways. You're is in ninth place in the top tens as a side note!"
The ninth? This guy is in ninth place? How?
"Right, right, I know; I should teach them who's above them."
I decided to back off for now.
"Actually, I have to go to my dorms right away, and so do they. We'll be leaving now, so let us go, would you?"
I grabbed onto the backpacks of Celia's and Tachino's and pulled them to the side. As we started to walk right past the group of students, Tachino looked and me and whispered, "Kian!! Thank you, you're my lifesaver!" I just looked back and didn't say anything.
"Oi oi, wait for a second, isn't too early for you cutie leave? Why don't you come over here?"
One of the students grasped Celia's arm and dragged her closer. I leaned closer to him and took his hands off of her.
"H-hey, why are you getting so pressed? Is she your girlfriend or someth-"
"Didn't I tell you to let us go?"
For some reason, he seemed scared and ran off to the guy apparently named "Hans."
"J-just go away! You freak."
"Ah, alright."
Right then, as we resumed walking back, I saw a glimpse of Hans's eyes. He was the real deal, alright. But something was very off about him.
"Kian! What just happened? Whatever you did to that dumbass totally worked!" Tachino let out a big sigh of relief and continued to be happy.
"Kian...Your eyes when...You looked at that guy..."
I didn't know Celia had a shy voice in the least. She wasn't as confident as Kasuna.
"Hm? What about it?"
"Nevermind...It's just that...You had the eyes of a cat...A scary one..."
"...Ah, is that right."
"Yes..."
"Guys, want to hear something? I heard a mystery here at this school! It's called the Seventh Letter Mystery."
"The seventh letter...? What is it about..." Celia rather seemed interested than usual, her blue eyes in genuine interest.
"Apparently, there used to be an upperclassman who graduated this school with perfect grades, but never got into the top tens five years ago. His classmates were surprised when he wasn't in the top ten. But the student stayed calm and smiled to himself. Do you know what he said right after?"
"...What is it? I need...To know..."
"He said, 'The seventh letter is a secret isn't it?' to himself, and left the school. Some other students heard it and tried figuring out what the seventh letter was. However, the investigation didn't go well since all the teachers and the administrators were saying that they didn't know a thing about it."
"...What about the principal..."
"Huh? Oh him. Don't you know this? Nobody knows who the principal is. The only person who comes out to deliver a speech to the students is the vice principal, Mrs. Ochell."
"...Oh...Okay."
I stayed silent until we reached the dorms, where Celia separated with me and Tachino.
