Shared Secret

Suddenly my entire body trembled, like an earthquake from my core. I felt hot, excited, jittery, and my teeth ached.

Oh shit. I jumped to my feet and let my instincts partially take over for just a moment. I sprinted down the hallway, down a flight of stairs, and halfway down the hallway. The symptoms became worse, nearly dropping me to my knees.

I tried the door, but it was locked. I heard struggling inside the room and knew I only had a few moments left, so I did what I feared. I let all of my pheromones out and succumbed to my instincts. I used my shoulder and rammed the door, breaking it down. The two people in the room looked to me in shock as my blood boiled. MINE! That's all that went through my mind.

I stared down the Alpha, "GET OFF." I growled with my voice as deep as it could hit. When my pheromones exploded again, he trembled and backed up onto his knees, inches from the other student. I went to the Alpha and loomed over him, "LEAVE AND I WON'T REPORT YOU." I pulled him off the ground by his shirt collar. "DON'T EVER COME NEAR HIM AGAIN."

The Alpha scurried to his feet and ran out of the room. I looked down to the male Omega and saw his large eyes and how bad he was trembling. I couldn't control myself and suddenly pinned him to the floor.

"NO!" He pleaded, "PLEASE NO!" I leaned into the side of his neck with my mouth opened wide. "NO!"

His hand squeezed mine, lightly moving my ring. My mind reset and I rushed to turn my head. I bit into my bicep and the pain surged through me like lightning. I took control of my body and rushed to let go of him. I was panting and shivering as I groaned and released my bite.

"You're okay," I whispered as I breathed harder. "You're safe."

I moved so that I sat beside him and quickly took off my jacket. I handed it to the Omega who sat up slightly and just stared in confusion.

"Cover yourself up quickly." I groaned as I pulled off my ring and held it in my joined hands. I shook more as I tried to calm down, "where are your surpressers?"

"In...in the outside pocket of my bag." I slid the ring back on and rushed to pull out the syringe case. "Just give it..."

I shook my head as I ripped off the lid with my teeth and turned the dial to 10. I shoved it into his calf, causing him to wince even though he still looked to me in shock.

"How...?"

I looked to his light brown eyes with a sad smile, "my parents taught me." I got up and extended my hand to him. He hesitated before taking my hand and I hoisted him to his feet. "You should probably call your family to pick you up. You also need to get off this campus. This school is for Betas and Alphas."

"I can handle it from here."

"Are you sure? I could..."

He glanced to me and put on my coat. He had a faint smile, "I'm okay, I promise. Thank you for helping me."

I shook my head, "I nearly attacked you. You shouldn't thank me."

He left the room and I collapsed to a crouching position. My body rattled and I felt pain with guilt. After a few minutes, I went back to the classroom and put a few bandaids on my wound. I continued copying Liam's notes until a large group of students came in to the room.

"Cal!" Olivia called and I smiled to her.

"G'morning."

Liam sat beside me and sighed, "you must've left really early. I didn't even see you leave."

"Can you blame him?" I was startled when Aaron sat on the long desk between Liam and I, "he's under the same roof as Grayson Bradden. I'd leave early too if Iived with him."

Olivia sighed, "I can't even imagine. He's such an ass."

Liam huffed, "he's nothing compared to the stepdad." Liam glanced at me and seemed to analyze my face. "That's your biological dad, right?"

Aaron and Olivia looked to me in complete shock as I nodded. "Biology is about the extent of our relationship."

"Calvin!" I looked to the doorway and saw a breathless Ava.

"Give me a sec'." I quickly got up and went to the doorway. Ava took my hand and led me slightly down the hall from the classroom before hugging me.

"Are you okay? I heard what happened."

I smiled as she let go of me except for my hands she held. "I'm fine. They're not the first to bother me about my Mom."

"Please let me know if you want to talk, okay?" I nodded before following as she led me back to my classroom. She kissed my cheek, "see ya' later."

I walked into the room as the bell rang and we all quickly became silent as the teacher began class. I was slightly startled when the teacher came toward us.

"Mr. Bradder!" He hissed and I cringed as I remembered that was me now. "Where is your jacket? It is part of the required uniform."

I looked to him, "I'm sorry, sir. I forgot it at my house. I am still getting used to uniforms, as I have never had one before. It will not happen again, sir."

"See to that."

Liam glanced to me, "you left it and Ava didn't bring it?"
