Silk Pants Don't Hold Up Well to a Beating

Xan moved forward confidently. On earth, Xan studied every field of science and pseudoscience he could, including psychology. If you want others to react to you in a certain way then you must act in a way congruent with the way you want them to feel. Right now, Xan wanted everyone to think of him as a fearless and ruthless warrior. He needed to make an example of someone. The blustering silk pants would make a great example for others. He could already see the fear in his eyes.

The four bodyguards set up a protective circle around the silk pants. Xan laughed mockingly. "Do you know his father is the village chief, the leader of the group said. "So," Xan responded. "You can't do anything to him in his father's territory," another guard said. "I was having a drink with a friend and this stupid dog started barking and yapping. He's ruined my mood. I don't care who his father is, he's going to get a beating. If he resists I might just kill him.

"No, don't be like that, the young master isn't worth your trouble," another guard said. The young master was incensed but also understood the guard was trying to save his life. He didn't know why, but for some reason, his guards seemed to be scared of the very young warrior before them. "I am Elam the son of King Bar Lin of the Three Cities, and I'm going to give you a beating, whoever you are," Xan said.

"I'm...I'm...uh...I am Brian son of Herman, village chief of Strikt, this is our land and you have no right to beat anyone," he said with false bravado. "A Striktlander wants to give me orders!" Xan said in false rage. Next, he pulled out his sword. "Who dares to get in my way? I'm going to beat this little prince and whoever interferes will loose at least finger," Xan said.

When Xan reached the attack radius of the lead guard, the guard attacked. With a swift flick of his wrist, Xan sliced through the man's sword hilt and cut off a finger. Then, with a punch, he knocked the man out. Xan was surprised at how weak these guards were. According to their level, they were all level twelve. He should be much weaker than them, so why was he easily knocking them out? He decided to worry about it later. He just acted like it was all as expected.

After dealing with the guards, Xan walked over to the young man. "Brian, it's your turn," Xan said calmly. Brian's eyes welled up with tears. "Don't, I am sorry I offended you!" he said. "It doesn't matter, it's all in the past," he said. "You aren't going to hurt me?" Brian asked relieved. "No, I'm definitely going to beat you, I was just saying you offending me was in the past," Xan said with a wicked smile.

Beating a silk pant, how enjoyable was it? It was like seeing an object so dirty you never believed it could be clean. Then with help from a super cleaning agent, you wiped through the disgusting muck like magic. You could literally see the portion that was clean versus the portion that was still dirty. As you clean you feel so satisfied that when you finish you wish you had more to clean. Brian was beaten until he was peeing blood, coughing blood, and couldn't look anyone in the eye. Xan stretched leisurely, "Not bad, I might get a little sleep," he said.

"Who dares to beat my son!" a raving mad voice screamed from the dark night outside of the inn. Xan just smiled.

In the Superior Crafting Guild, now the headquarters of the Unity and Order Super Guild, Pabas, Mage Morganna, Mehi, and Aella arrived. The headquarters was very close to where they lived and only required a few days of travel. Construction sites were surrounding the main guild. Roads made of an unusual material were spreading out like the web of a spider. The guild building was the center of the web. Neither Pabas nor the Mage Morganna had seen buildings and structures like this. Strange vehicles were being used. Some of the vehicles looked like animated parts of a monster. Some, looked like the clawed hand of a giant as it tore into the earth. Others were like carriages without horses. There were flying vehicles but they weren't the typical shuttles they were familiar with. There were also soldiers wearing weird armor and carrying strange tubed weapons.

A grand jade tower with a golden spiral was in the middle of being constructed. There were other buildings being constructed, but none of them were as magnificent as the jade tower. The Mage Morganna wasn't sure about what she would see when arriving at the branch of a Super Guild. The sight before her was nothing she ever expected. Her understanding of the world was completely turned upside down.

"Excuse me, can I help you?" a gate guard asked The Mage Morganna and her family. "I am the Mage Morgana and this is my family, we have a guild token given to me by Elam the son of King Bar Lin of the Three Cities. We were told to present the token as a sign of recommendation for membership in the guild," she said. The gate guard stood up straighter and carefully took the guild token from the Mage Morganna. "Please follow me to the Elder's hall, you are expected," the gate guard said. Another guard took his place as he led the family away and into the guild.

The guard leads them into the original guildhall into a room with a long table. The guard showed them to some chairs to wait in and had a maid bring in refreshments. The family didn't wait for long until a young man in gold and blue armor walked into the room. "Welcome, I am the vice-guild leader of the Unity and order Super Guild, my name is Master Git Mu Vin," Git said.

"I am the Mage Morganna, this is my husband Pabas son of Puma, and my two daughters Mehi and Aella," she said as she pointed at each person she introduced. "Prince Elam communicated with me about each of you and you are expected," Git said with a smile. "You call him Prince Elam even though his kingdom is no more?" Pabas asked. "Only a minor setback for the young prince. I'm sure after meeting him you can attest to his capabilities," he said. "Indeed," Pabas nodded in agreement. He only needed to think about what he did for his daughter Mehi to know how incredible his son-in-law is.

"It is your fortune to have Prince Elam as your son-in-law, and it is also your fortune he recommended all of you. Of course, I'm sure if he recommended you it is because you are deserving. We'll have each of you tested tomorrow to find the best course of training," Git said.

"Pardon me Master Vin, I noticed a lot of strange things outside, and there is so much construction going on. Is this a new guild," The Mage Morganna asked. "Originally this headquarters belonged to the Superior Crafting Guild, perhaps you've heard of it?" he asked. The Mage and her husband both nodded their heads affirming their knowledge of the guild. Recently, my guild, the Unity and Order Super Guild, decided to expand our power by constructing new branches. We chose this region for the location of our first new branch guild. Now, we are creating the facilities our Super Guild requires.

"Your soldiers wear very strange armor," Pabas said. "Strange to you, but I can guarantee you there isn't an army better trained or better equipped on this continent. I was told little Aella is a warrior in training," he said suddenly switching the subject. "She is," Pabas nodded. "Good, both you and your daughter will have the opportunity to use the armor and weapons very soon," Git said.

"Why is that?" The Mage Morganna asked. "Because, within six months we'll be going to war," Git said.
