'Bout to Get Magical Up In Here

708 B.C - Asgard: Royal Library

Asera sat, practicing her magic diligently as she had done for the past few months now. After she had finished her training with her mentor months ago, she began to once more work on her magic.

This was, sadly, one of the first steps into figuring out what her father had enchanted her with, without him gaining knowledge of it.

She was currently working on controlling her magic, before she branched into different subjects. Things like Illusions and Conjuration were currently sitting on the sidelines. After all, she felt that if she could control her magic perfectly before she started with them, she could learn them much better and faster.

The reason she wasn't planning on working on runes until all her other magic training had finished was because she thought she found a fantastic teacher inside of a book in the library.

She was supposedly the queen and gatekeeper of a haunted land in Midgard. She felt the woman could be a great teacher because she is not only supposed to be the best spearwoman in the Nine, but she also supposedly specializes in Rune Magic.

(A/N: Oh wow, I wonder who it is.)

Asera was broken out of her thoughts by a shout coming from the Royal Chambers. Curious, and not wanting to drop the chance to find black mail on Frigga, decided to quickly test how good her control over her magic is from her training these months.

She ran over to a bookshelf, grabbing a book on illusions. She skimmed through the book, stopping at the chapter about invisibility.

The goddess read through the chapter quickly, knowing the longer it took her to figure out how to preform the spell, the more of the conversation she'll miss.

Asera finished the chapter in record time, beginning to try and preform the small illusion. Somehow, she instantly went invisible. No doubt from her control over her magic being near the level of mastery.

She walked silently towards the Royal Chambers, something she had figured out how to do during her spear training with her mentor.

She stopped outside the door, cracking it open a tiny bit, just enough to hear better, but not enough to alert her father or mother.

"-N! She has been practicing magic extremely well for the past months. In time, and not much mind you, she will discover the enchantments you put on the ring, and she will not be happy with you!" Frigga yelled, making Asera very interested in the conversation.

"Frigga, the only way she will figure out the runes without my knowledge would be to find someone of equal talent if not better than me to teach her. She's never even left the castle, much less been able to find someone who could possibly be on my levels of skill with Rune Magecraft. Trust me Frigga, her power will stay sealed, and she wi-"

Then, Odin suddenly abruptly stopped speaking, making Asera freeze slightly.

"Who's there!" Asera began to run as she heard Odin's footsteps nearing the door.

Quickly entering back into the library, she began to go back to her studies, hoping that if Odin found her like that, he wouldn't think she could have been listening in.

Of course, she wasn't studying, she was thinking about what she heard Odin say. 'My power is sealed?' The girl began to think, briefly looking to the ring.

'I need to take the ring off if that's the case, but I can't be in the castle, nor near him when I do it.' She thought to herself.

708 B.C - Asgard: Asera's Room

Asera stood in her room, packing books, food, and clothing into a small bag.

This bag was a present from her mother on her first birthday. Of course, she didn't remember receiving it, but she loved it none the less.

The bag had the ability to expand in space, whilst staying the same on the outside.

As Asera finished packing everything, she slid the filled bag under her bed and walked out of her room for dinner.

708 B.C - Asgard: Asera's Room

Asera stood from her bed, looking at the moon that had risen high into the sky.

The goddess slid the bag from under her bed and quickly jumped out of the window in her room. She caught onto a ledge and began to skillfully descend from her room, before she reached the ground.

Asera knew she didn't have much time, Heimdall most likely already knowing she was running. Then of course, Frigga was able to scry her aswell.

Asera didn't really know how to get past Heimdall, but she was hoping that as a princess, she could just order him to open the Bifrost.

She ran through the city as quickly as possible, making the few pedestrians jump out of her way.

As she made it to the Rainbow Bridge, she looked behind her to see a few soldiers about 200 meters away. Asera, knowing they were sent by her father, finally took off the ring for the first time in her life and threw it over the edge of the bridge before continuing to run.

As she arrived at the Bifrost, Heimdall smiled softly at her. "Hello Princess, I take it you wish to go to Midgard?"

Asera looked shocked at Heimdall before remembering he had the All-Seeing eyes. He probably knew she wanted to go to Midgard before even she did.

She gave a quick nod before he activated the Bifrost. She looked to see the soldiers only halfway across the bridge, so she decided to ask Heimdall a question.

"Why?" She asked, not knowing why he decided to help her.

"As much as I am loyal to Asgard, your father is not in his right mind sealing your powers. I trust you will do what is best. After all, that is what your mother would do."

Heimdall smiled, seeing Asera's shocked face before he activated the Bifrost and she was sent to Midgard.
