The Past (part 1)

Sabrina was currently getting her hair and make up done.

"Marga what's my schedule for today?" asked Sabrina to her manager.

"In this morning, you have to attend the opening ceremony for Verelle, in the afternoon you will be joining the lunch meeting for the new cast of 'Let's Go!'," answered Marga while scrolling through her tablet, "In the evening your schedule is pretty clear. You can have it as your resting time," she added.

Upon hearing what her manager said, Sabrina instantly felt excited. It means she can visit her beloved boyfriend later this evening. She has missed him so much already! He was too busy with his work and haven't contacted her for too long.

She wanted to see him!

"Oh right! Marga can I borrow my phone for a moment?" Sabrina turned to look at her manager. Her manager immediately handed her her phone.

Sabrina excitedly opened her phone and immediately clicked on the contact 'Sweetie'. She pressed 'message' and started to type.

'Sweetie! I'm free this night, do you want to meet? I miss you so much already :('

She smiled at the text, but she erased it.

"No. I'll just surprise him," Sabrina giggled to herself. She handed her phone back to her manager then turned to continue her make up.

"Did he reply to you yet?" Marga asked.

"Nope, he's too busy," Sabrina answered.

"You really think he's just busy and not something else?"

"Of course! He's the heir of their family business, I understand if he doesn't have time to reply," Sabrina answered confidently.

"You trust him so much. What if he's doing something else behind your back? I mean, I'm not trying to imply something here, or maybe I am. But Sabrina! Its nearly 2 weeks already ever since he went MIA, don't you find it fishy at all?" Marga questioned.

Sabrina turned around and smiled, "Marga, we've been together for so long now. If Jacob wanted to cheat, he would've done it earlier. I trust him because I know that I'm the only one he loves," she said.

Marga sighed in defeat, "Okay then, but don't forget that I warned you! Don't come running to me!" Marga glared at Sabrina.

"Don't worry, that day will never come,"

After finishing all her engagements for the day, Sabrina went home immediately to change her clothes. She grabbed her keys and left her house.

On her way to Jacob's condo, she passed by their favorite restaurant. She thought that maybe, both of them can have dinner at his place so she stopped over. She ordered their favorite food for take out and left right after receiving her order.

"Hmmmm," Sabrina hummed inside her car. She's quite ecstatic today! After several days of not contacting each other, she'll finally get to see her beloved Jacob.

Inside the car, she was already planning on how to make him apologize to her. He made her miss him so much! She smiled at the thought of him begging her to forgive him and raining her with his kisses. Her heart felt full just by the thought of seeing him.

After the 15 minute drive, Sabrina finally arrived at his place.

She grabbed her purse and the bag of food, then she entered the building. She happily headed for the elevator and waited. She was already imagining Jacob's surprised face when he sees her.

As soon as the elevator opened, Sabrina saw a familiar person inside.

"CEO Valerie! How nice to see you here!" she greeted.

"Oh Sabrina? What are you doing here?" the woman smiled.

"I'm visiting a friend, how about you CEO Valerie?"

"My fiance lives here, we're about to head out but he left his wallet so I went up to get it," Valerie answered and showed the men's wallet on her hands.

"Wow I didn't know you're already engaged! Congratulations!"

"Thank you! Don't forget to attend our wedding okay?" Valerie smiled at her.

"Of course!"

"Very well then, I'll see you at the company." the woman waved goodbye to Sabrina and turned to leave.

Entering the elevator, "What a coincidence? Jacob and her fiance has the same taste in wallets," Sabrina mumbled to herself and chuckled. She immediately pressed on Jacob's floor number.

Arriving at the doorstep, Sabrina entered his passcode and entered silently. But as soon as she stepped inside, she was welcome with a dark room.

"Is he not home?" she asked herself, "Jacob?" she called but no one answered.

Sabrina turned the lights on and went straight to his bedroom, but he wasn't there either. She checked her watch for the time, it was 9:30 in the evening. He was usually at home already by this hour, is he working overtime?

She brought her phone out and dialed his number, but it just connected to his voice mail.

"Hi sweetie! It's me, are you working overtime right now? I'm at your house but you're not here. Call me immediately if you receive this. I miss you!" she spoke then ended the call.

"I guess I'll just wait for him to come home then." Sabrina spoke to herself. She was desperate to see him.

An hour passed, but he was still no show.

2 hours..

3 hours..

4 hours..

5 hours of waiting..

Sabrina already fell asleep because of waiting. She yawned and looked at her watch, it was already 2: 40 am. She looked around the place, but there was still no Jacob on sight. She sighed then stood up, "I guess I'm in no luck today." she said to herself and heavily dragged herself out of the place.

The next day, Marga noticed Sabrina's mood. She was wearing a long face all day! She approached her, "Hey, what happened? You don't look okay," she asked.

"I'm fine, just having a bad day," she answered.

"Is this because of Jacob again?" Marga raised her brows and Sabrina nodded in response.

"I thought you were going to surprise him yesterday? Didn't go well?"

Sabrina sighed heavily, "He wasn't home. I guess he was working overnight," she bowed her head down. She was really feeling depressed right now because she didn't get to see Jacob. Why didn't he call her back? Why did he not come home? She was asking this questions on head.

"What if something happened to him?" Sabrina suddenly said.

Marga gasped in shock because of her, "Is he all you can think of?!" she scolded her.

"I need to go check on him!" Sabrina suddenly stood up, grabbed her stuff and ran away.

"Sabrina! Where are you going!" Marga shouted but Sabrina didn't mind her and just continued to run away.

Inside the car, a bit of worry grew inside Sabrina. What if something really happened to him that's why he wasn't able to come home? He didn't even call her back. It felt weird to her.

She definitely needs to check!

Sabrina sped to Lockwood Corporation where Jacob was working. As soon as she arrived, she anxiously headed for the elevator. She hoped to see him okay once she reaches his office.

Worried, Sabrina immediately stepped out of the elevator and headed to Jacob's office.

Arriving at the doorstep, she reached for the doorknob and twisted it gently.

"Please be there," she whispered to herself.

As soon as she opened the door, she was welcomed with a painful sight. She stood there frozen. She felt her heart tighten, her lungs suddenly lacked air. Tears formed in her eyes.

The boyfriend that she was so desperate to see, was currently making out with somebody right in front of her.

She wanted to shout at them.

Curse at them.

But no words came out of her mouth.

Not knowing what to do, Sabrina turned around to leave. She wiped the tears that flowed down from her eyes. Right now her mind felt blank. All she can feel is the pain wrapping her heart. It felt like a knife, stabbing her heart repeatedly.

Her mind was lost.

Why?

How could he do this to me? He loved me right?
