Crynn POV
So, now everyone is focused on the tunnel and discovering more treasures. I've never been treasure hunting before, probably did role plays on it or playing around with it as a theme, but I've never genuinely or actively tried searching for treasure, it's actually a bit exiting. There's just this certain thrill and adrenaline that pushes you into finding treasure.
And if you did find one, the satisfaction and euphoria would exhiliarate your brain receptors. One thing to put it is its just wonderful. Instead of doing drugs and drinking, this could make as an alternative experience in activity. So O'Connell once again taking front side while me, Evelyn and Jonathan watch his backs.
Flashlights at the ready and... Move. O'Connell stepped slowly going from the sides instead of the middle. We don't want to step on another pressure plate and risked everyone in getting squished in between two ancient walls. This might be the only ruin without any spiders and their cobwebs, where would spiders even get food in a place like this.
"Be cautious, be cautious," Jonathan slowly moved his mouth while tip toeing on the sides, this is also quite a frightening feel, one wrong move could you everything literally. I looked forward and suddenly gasped, "Stop!" Everyone stopped and turned to look at me. I shined my light towards the walls on the side where there are obvious holes built into it.
O'Connell upon seeing it, pointed his lighter down and knelt closely to look at it. And correct, an almost indiscernible string pulled out from one end to another. "Everyone, go over it, don't step on it," I gave a grave response to it and pushed O'Connell over the string and everyone followed after. This time, O'Connell brightened downwards while I shined on the walls and beyond.
"Are we close yet," Evelyn slowly uttered while looking down and up in search of any possible traps of some kind. "I don't know, maybe we..." a small noise came from below O'Connell, and as we looked down, one of the floor panels begin sinking. We all looked to each other before instinctively scanning our backs.
I flashed my light towards the direction while I notice some changes on the floor work. I squinted my eyes, "Everyone! Run!" I hurriedly and alarmingly shouted before urging everyone forwards. Soon, they all began to see what's coming and they opened their eyes in fear and moved their legs in haste.
Have you ever heard of 'The Floor is Lava' then if you haven't then you might not have heard about a more extreme version of it. Titled, 'The Floor is Spikes', a well known trap in movies and games, unrealized in modern society and this nightmare of a trap just occurred right now, right here in this cramped up tunnel and boy oh boy are we sick of traps.
"Is the floor falling!" Jonathan asked while running, I looked back for a moment as the floor began to fall faster and will be catching up to us at this pace. "Yes it is, don't look back and keep running," I replied with agitation while I keep hurrying on the run. Evelyn and O'Connell doesn't look well at all, the sweat continued running on their faces as they darted as fast as the can.
"There! I see it!" O'Connell spotted an area up front with his eyes and yes! I could small glimpses of light! "Everyone keep on going we'll make it there!" I made words of motivation at this moment of time, the end is near and we shall reach that end. I looked back and see the falling floors reaching us, only a tile or two away from making it to us.
I saw that the exit is incredibly near as I yelped, "Everyone jump!" thankfully they all listened and leaped forward to the egress as the final bits of floor fell apart to a pit of spears, a damn lot of spears. "We made it! We've made it!" O'Connell stood up and waved his arms in the air while chanting praises to every God he knew of.
"Blimey! That was a close one!" Evelyn knelt in exhaustion, cupping her face with her hands in exasperation. Jonathan is, well, Jonathan has pretty much passed out, lying down on the ground in a snow angel posture. I decided to take a minute of a break and sat down on the side while swiping my forehead more than just a few times.
"Who goes there!" a yell that sounded familiar vibrated from the other side of the room and as footsteps come closer, we could see the man behind the words. "Henderson! You're here!" O'Connell stared at Henderson in the eye as Henderson surveyed all of us. "Jesus O'Connell, what happened?" he sounded a bit sympathetic but that may just be a ruse.
"A couple of traps involving a falling floor happened on the way hear," Henderson looks interested and stifled a laughter, piece of shite. "Well, I'm you had your journey O'Connell, cause we discovered our own fair share of treasure," Henderson proudly and arrogantly presented as tow men from behind him brought a big box with one of its sides open. On its bottom rack showcasing some beautiful vases and a black book on the top rack.
Obviously The Book of The Dead but i don't know about those vases though, could mean something. "If this is what you've found, you can't believe what we've found," O'Connell took back his fallen spear on the ground and held it high, exhibiting its beauty and all the gems it came with. "O'Connell, you really striked the treasure, this could worth millions."
Henderson looked utterly jealous and put his hands up in resignation, while his eyes examined the spear. "We've got four!" O'Connell showed off a bit, which in my choice, not a good desicion to make. "Four! Bloody hell O'COnnell! You've truly made big and it really seemed that great risk and great rewards do exist."
Henderson went near the previous tunnel and peaked his head in, looking down on the spears with both intrigue and a bit of fear. "These ruins are dangerous aren't they, to get these treasures, four of my men got melted some acidic traps," he said with a trace of anxiety and a bit of a pity look on his features.
"Well you've bragged a lot and this time I'll be bragging your arse off!" Henderson heartily laughed with friendliness, is he going to introduce his treasures.
