A Bad Day For Everyone

Calian POV

"Now that I think about it, we haven't explored the stores around here," Jill waved down the street where a drug store, stairs to somewhere and another door is all located. "Sure, you lead," I have no opinions on the matter, the night is long and I reckon we're going to be in Raccoon City for a couple of hours anyway so why not.

We went around and entered a metal door into a hallway with a zombie along the way. Jill precisely shot a bullet in between its eyes, blowing the head off without remorse, that's the end of him. "That's not normal, heads don't blow like that," Jill inquired, inspecting the corpse closer, her 'thinking' face is on.

"We now know just how vulnerable their heads are, My insight is that the virus keeps the body soft but still going, soft enough for a bullet to blasts its head like a needle on a balloon," she hummed and dropped the zombie down, she approached a corner and turned pointing her gun to the other hallway, "Clear," if Jill says its clear, then I'm in on it.

"We found ourselves just the perfect tool for a fire," a fire hose, in the middle of nowhere, how suspiciously opportune. "We'll leave it there for the time being, let's go through this entire road first," Jill opened the door next to the hose, her gun pointed in and down at sensing nothing. "We've come across an office space with a shotgun!"

Who would've thought to place a shotgun in the middle of a workspace, this is not a police station, it's a civilian office. "And a grenade in the locker," she said, amused by the grenade she found, "People really leave things everywhere don't they," a shotgun in an office, why not!? A grenade in an office, what is wrong with you!?

"I might consider a shotgun, but a grenade!? Either Raccoon City citizens have high trust issues, or the whole city is just isn't safe even before the outbreak," I was baffled, it's very illogical to house grenades in a locker. "Not going to complain though, a grenade's always useful," I can't refute the statement.

I shot the lock on one of the lockers and the chains binding the gun cabinet housing the shotgun. "What's inside the other two lockers Jill," I took the shotgun out carefully, giving it a pump and aimed it randomly, pressing the trigger to imitate someone firing it, no rounds to accomodate though.

"Shells for our new shotgun and more handgun rounds," I handed her the pump-action which she took in delight, grinning ear to ear. "Remington Model 870, strong punch," she reloaded the bullets and pulled the pump, looking as ready as ever to ruin some folks up. "We got one more door to check," the door at the end of the hallway we passed, I almost forgot about that.

Jill and I exited and entered the other door, the only lights in this room, where searing red lines on a huge computer-like screen covering three quarters the wall on the other side. "We now know what the place is, the subway routing center," that's what I thought, the place has a lot of computers and panels lined up in rows with seats.

Shelves cover the walls filled with technical documents and knowledge books, the only object in my focus is the middle computer panel with some controls. "I'm guessing this is what they use to designate routes," I called Jill down and showed her the device, a map is stuck onto the panel, with multiple switches showing names of underground tunnels beside it.

"This map must show the right tunnels for the train and ones that can't be used," Jill is correct, the map has these lines showing where the train goes and some of them are crossed with a red marker. "Unfortunately, we can't do anything here unless the substation power is turned on," well enough, Jill lifted up something from the corner, a riot shield, black with the letters R.P.D written on it and bullet proof glass on the upper half for sight purposes.

'Where did you find that?" I don't remember any type of shield in Resident Evil Games, ah well, there are always differences between main world fiction, and sub world reality. "From this worker's dead body, a fruit knife sliced open his head, we both can agree to how bad his day is," I looked around her and that's just gruesome and revolting.

A fruit knife is placed right between a sliced open mouth, showing clearly that it's been previously used to cut the man's head from the top down to his lips. "Well that is repulsive, lets get out of here," my lips twitched at my final look at the dead man, poor soul, I exited the building with Jill and the zombies are still dead on the ground, wonderful.

"We have a pharmacy to check and then the alleyway," I could always use some medicine from the drug store, the only thing irritating is the giant Umbrella poster saying 'Umbrella, always puts the citizens first!' I scoffed at it. "That's a huge sack of lies didn't it," Jill followed my eyeline and now it's her turn to deride the poster with just her expression growing angrier by the second.

"Umbrella, always ruining people's live, crazy f*cking lunatics and their equally insane f*cking experiments," she stomped her foot irately and entered the store with great big strides. We entered the pharmacy, a van crashed right inside of it, drunk driving? "I didn't know Umbrella sells lube," this is fascinating, I thought Umbrella sells only drugs but the more you know, they also delved into sexual needs.

"Umbrella is in every industry, tourism, industrial, anything you could think of," I was looking at a poster of Aqua Cure in the wall, an Umbrella made lube product, turning sexual dreams into zombie fantasies, that would be a better slogan. "Do you think the numbers circled with blood meant something," on the bottom of the poster, a telephone number was written in bold black numbers, and some of the numbers, mainly 9, 3, and 7 is circled with red or blood.

"Could mean something, not of any use at the moment though," Jill collected some ammo from a dead man's gun, he has obviously lost his lower half to the van, it's a bad day for any Raccoon City citizens.

"So, only the alley and the stairs are left, let's get moving shall we," I couldn't agree more with you Jill, lead the way!
