MS-69 Super-submarine

Crynn POV

"How is that thing going to be pushed out into the waters?"

"You mean the submarine? You see the strips of yellow and black over there, behind it is a thick steel wall that would push itself up to the roof, after that's done, the gates will open and the water will come in. Then, after the water had finished filling up, the clamps connected to the roof will release the submarine and retract itself upwards. Finally, the submarine will exit safely," some guy told me, interesting though.

The submarine itself is true to its glory and name of 'super-'. It's very big, it's shapes are of a typical submarine added some bonuses in terms of firepower. Unlike the usual submarines with only a cannon on top that needs to be operated above the seawater and two or three or four torpedo launching tubes, this has more than those to it.

There are turret cannons all around the body probably equipped with ammunition fit for underwater combat. I can also see that next to the submarine's anchor exit, is another hatch, now I'm guessing that's used to deploy undersea mines or even timed depth charges. "We're here boys, get off!" The driver on the front opened the truck's window and shouted to the back as we jumped off the truck with our bags and supplies.

There's already a tall staircase in place towards the submarine's side door, yes, you heard me right, side door, not top hatch but side door, it's like we're boarding an passenger plane rather than a submarine. I spotted my team already lining up onto the stairs as I joined dozens of crew behind them, queuing up for the undersea submarine express of death.

As I entered the first space of the submarine, as cramped as it was, I was amazed by the first sight of interior. This was not how I imagined a submarine to be like in the future. It's minimalistic, clean, smoothly painted black walls and a TV screen with a countdown. 30 minutes to launch, I will probably spend that long just looking around and familiarizing myself to this submarine.

But first, I need to find my crew quarters, I know where it is, I memorized the routes, I need to get there, put my earpiece on and coordinate with my fellow team members on how to make an approach to this. So, let's see, my quarters is in quarters 17. So, not 12, not 13, not 14, not 15, not 16, there it is, 17.

I placed my duffel bag on top of one of the beds as I reached on of the outside pockets, unzipping to retrieve a beige colored small earpiece that will be inserted inside my ear, the color serving a perfect camouflage and the size of it allows for no one to even spot it. "Test, test, test, anyone here?" I asked through the earpiece, for the matter of fact, it seems that I'm the first and currently alone in quarters 17.

"I have made it into quarters 17, over," I said, trying once more to see if anyone picked it up. "Heard it loud and clear over, I'm in my quarters as well and if my voice isn't as clear, I'm whispering so as not to alert my three crew members in my quarters to know, and they won't hear my whisper because they're too busy talking and laughing loudly," Calian is here, good.

"Jill in, like we said in the plan, I'll immediately be on the ventilations control room, locking myself in and hopefully like I expected it to be, no one will even bother coming in here. I'll spend the next 30 minutes forward trying to break through this submarine's defenses and oh boy those this submarine have top defense, it's gonna take a while for me to destroy a part of this firewall so make yourselves at home until the next time I made the call," Jill's out.

"Stable connections? Apparently, as you all know, we have our own 'designated' jobs to do and I am a radar expert but alas, run me down on each of your individual jobs again?" Aria sounded sheepishly as I remembered that we do have jobs to do, that is until Jill calls for us and everything is ready for the action, which is not right now.

"I'm under turret control, where I'm heading right now. Sadly, I don't think we'll be shooting at anything any time soon so that's a negative for me," turret control, huh? I'm sure we can set something up to shoot once we take control of this submarine. "Echolocation navigator, a one man job filled for me, I had to learn some things for the past few days when I was 'granted' this job," hmm... Calian's job sounds interesting.

"Surprisingly, my job is geographical reader, so basically once we're submerged, I scan the area, making sure we're not about to run into anything or anybody, quite important for a vehicle moving in the deep dark, high pressured environment. Only Jill did not have a job because she's up in the ventilation controls room doing the hardest task out of all of us.

We only need to shoot at people while she needs to work out how the shooting will work. "So, nobody ran into any complications early in the game, do they?" Speaking of the devil, Jill's tease came through the earpiece as I heard Calian's chuckle. "If you'd consider lecherous men a complication, then I've certainly run into one, these guys are constantly making dirty jokes about their 'big' dicks, such a dick right," and Calian giggled, yes, giggled, albeit very quietly.

"Well, I'd be sorry if I were in your spot, doesn't sound very comfortable over there but you're not the one in a room with two girls kissing each other. I mean, couldn't they find a more private spot to conduct their romance, mean while poor single me here hadn't found my love," Aria joked as everyone cackled, I had a grin myself.

Well, anyway, I do wish I won't have to kill a lot of people here. While I have no qualms on that act, I do prefer not to murder anyone, especially these men and women who looked like they had a family. One of my quarter's crew members even had a marriage ring and a photo of a lovely girl and a cute child hung on his locker.

Perhaps I need to discuss better ways to put these guys out without any bit of sadness, yeah I'll do just that.
