Resurface

Crynn POV

"I better be seeing a polar bear mascot," Calian joked, well I can assure that that's not what we'll be seeing once we reached above. "I heard this once before, but does Antarctica really mean 'no bears' and Arctic means 'bears'?" V had a funny look on her face when asking that simple yet very wrong question.

"Of course not, yes, while Arctic means bear form some Greek word, it's actually a name to call for the Ursa Major and Minor constellation which means Big Bear and Little Bear or something similar to that. And in those constellations stand the Polaris North Star. So Arctic means by the most part, 'North', while Antarctica means 'anti-North', or opposite to North, South."

Yes, I know my astronomy well, always seem to ace it, I even have a personal antique orrery I placed for aesthetic reasons on the corner of my personal office. "A lot of knowledge just entered my brain," V muttered as I think, I can begin to see the surface above, we're closing in on the water level inside this icy cavern.

"Approaching, docks incoming," Jill alerted everyone to the cameras where the submarine is finally showing its face above the waters. And yes, although we have successfully risen up, we are still in a cave, with light maximized over the cavern top, creating a bright environment. "Are we going to set the anchor ourselves or are the personnel on the bay anchoring for us?" Aria looked at one of the forward camera angles, where an incredible sight lays.

The naval dock must be more than 2 kilometers long with a couple of submarines already parked ahead. Some of them as big as the MS-69 while other are smaller, either way, this is an impressive parking lot of the world's most powerful submarines. There are a lot of cargo as well, yes, apparently, there are cargo submarines as well, submersible ships capable of carrying large amounts of cargo with absolutely minimal to no firepower.

"The personnel in charge of the docks will anchor us, using powerful magnetic force to keep us still once we have fully stopped on our reserved parking lot," Jill answered as the submarine accelerated according to the GPS. "So, will someone be expecting us? Or should we say, expecting Morgan Blackhand?" Calian tapped his fingers on the console.

"Yes, there will be but I'll deal with that," okay Jill, as long as we you don't try to shoot anyone or punch anyone, or push anyone to the cold waters, we'll be as fine as day. "This dock has got firepower, tanks, multiple of them, not to mention, a lot of turrets, and a lot of robots, as well as a lot of human militants as well," V squinted her eyes.

"Well, that just means we have to be careful, wouldn't want to start a fight we can't win," I said because this dock is like a military naval base, just bigger, more equipped and much better defended, I mean, it's in an underwater ice cave, only traversable on submarines, I suppose nothing gets better than that.

"Just for your information, we can win, just hard to do. This submarine is equipped with automated missile loading systems, capable of targeting anything. It's as easy for us to do to just put every single submarine, every single turrets and every single threat into the computer, press a single red button unlocked with two keys, and all hell can break loose, just like that."

"One fun fact that supports this argument is that this submarine is carrying more than a hundred missiles, each capable of bringing a skyscraper tumbling out of the clouds," okay, I fully take back my words. With Jill's description of the submarine's very potent firepower, we sure can win the fight but maybe not the war that comes after.

"Oh? Is that a wobble I feel?" Calian suggested the moment we stopped at the dock, and yes, there was a slight, some kind of rumble and thick vibrations. "That's the magnets working. So everyone, stay here and stay put, I'll go and meet the man waiting for us, I will come back so don't do anything, don't touch anything."

Jill warned us fervently as she heaved a big ready sigh, tidying up her clothing consisting of female Militech uniform as she went out. "Don't do anything, she says. I don't even dare touch anything," V chuckles as she rested over one of the comfy chairs while I am still looking at the screen, I've got a camera on the submarine's sail tower wit a 360 degrees view angle.

Ooh... The hatch opened as Jill climbed out and about, quickly going to the edge of the submarine where a bridge is slowly suspended forward to allow for her to walk over to the harbor. Then there was some exchanged words between a well suited man and Jill which led to more sentences being said as the guy surrendered with two hands up and promptly left on a jeep.

"I'd say that went well," Aria said as we sat tight for Jill's return. "Well, that's taken care of. Now, we have better things to arrange for," Jill came back and immediately told us her planning. "On the previous day, I had already printed out Morgan Blackhand's face as a mask for you, Calian to wear, here, try it out."

Jill handed the creepy looking face mask with an open lip and empty eyes. "And what color was Morgan Blackhand's eyes?" Ah, one thing I learn from being a thief is that in the art of personification, the eye is home to most scrutiny and attention. And eye color must absolutely be adjusted according to whom you are trying to disguise as.

"Blackhand is known to change his optics whenever a new model is released so it won't matter. Next, would be our way in. I've located the point where there's just a blank spot on the blueprint, where I wager is the location of the secondary elevator but... we need explosives for it," wait, that's not a very good idea. Or is it?
