Athena Chapter 1.

I woke up to muffled voices and scents that I had never smelt or heard before. I struggled to focus on the world around me as my vision was blurry. I wondered how long I had been out for and then a moment of dread hit me. Where was I, who were these people and what had happened? All these thoughts rushed through my head. I think the people around me had sensed that I was awake as I felt the warmth of someone's hand on mine. I tried to move away but felt the heaviness in my body, every part of me was hurting and aching like I had never felt before. I tried to speak but could not muster any words to come out of my sore, dry throat. I felt the person who was holding my hand squeeze it tighter and this somehow made me feel relaxed, even if it was for a split second I relaxed before trying to move away again before the pain kicked back in. I gave up with trying to move away and just resigned myself that this person was not going to let me go.

The voices and my vision was becoming clearer. There seemed to be a number or males talking with each other in the room. I could hear them talking about me and what was happening. I still didn't understand where I was or what had happened but could feel that maybe I was safe, the smell of lavender hit me and then I knew for sure that nothing bad was going to happen. I could feel small tears starting to form in my eyes and just before they started to roll down my face I felt the person holding my hand move. They had let go of my hand and sounded like they stood up from the way the chair legs had scrapped across the floor.

The next thing I feel is their hand on the side of my face and the removal of the face mask so that I could move my head. I move my head to the side and I see a boy starting to sit back down beside me, his face full of freckles and big emerald eyes, green bouncy hair on his head and smile that could light up the darkest of nights. He was wearing a blue tracksuit with white lines on, elbow guards and bright red shoes. I thought to myself that was a weird outfit but couldn't remove my gaze from his big beautiful eyes and smile.

I looked at him and smiled with the tears now falling from my eyes. I heard him speak for what seemed to not be the first time. His voice was gentle and calm. His first words to me where not who I was or where I had come from but that of concern and relief that I had woken up.

"I so glad you're awake, you gave me such a fright", hearing the relief in his voice I could only smile even more and wondered who this amazing, kind person was next to me.

I tried to speak but became aware of the other people in the room. I wanted to let this boy know that I was ok but no words were forming. The dread from earlier hit me once again and my body tried to sit up, only to feel that I had been restrained to the bed by my wrists and ankles. I looked at the boy who was trying to calm me but I was panicking and wanted to run. The adrenaline hit me and I tried to transform in the cat shape, thinking that I could get out the restraints this way but it wouldn't work. I couldn't activate my quirk, i couldn't change, i tried to wield fire, then water then plants life but nothing was happening. I looked around the room to seem a man staring at me, black hair in the air and eyes glowing red looking at me.

"Eraser head, please she is scared" I heard from the boy next to me, who had tried to calm me, the room now thick with the smell of lavender and his hand on mine once again. I screamed but no sound came from my mouth. Tears once again fall but the green haired boy had a least now got me sitting on the bed, still restrained by my ankles and wrists.

I felt myself starting to drift from the smell of lavender and the calmness that it came with.

"It's ok, you're going to be ok. He isn't trying to hurt you" I heard from the boy next to me. He continued to speak and I turned my head to look at him once again.

"My name is Deku, I'm a student here at UA high School" he took a breath and looked at the man he called Eraser head earlier, who seemed to know what he was about to say, the man just nodded as though he was agreeing with what Deku was about to tell me.

Deku continued "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. We didn't mean to mark you. We thought it was the only way to save you from the league of Villains"

"We" I said in my hoarse, dry voice. Deku looked at me then over to the door where another boy was standing. I moved me head and saw a boy, bright red hair on one side and white on the other, it was split perfectly down the middle. He had a grey and blue eye, with what looked like a burn mark over it. He started to walk towards me, but I wanted to try and flee. I got the sense that he was not happy about what he had done and wanted to me know about it.

"Shoto, stop!" Deku told him. "She is already scared enough as it is, please just try to calm down"

I then smelt vanilla mixed into the lavender that was in the room, I realised that these smells were coming from Deku and Shoto to calm me down, to my surprise them mixed together had worked well and once again I felt calm. I heard Deku sigh and thank Shoto for realising his calming pheromones.

I looked back at Deku who was now no longer smiling but had tears filling his eyes. Shoto quickly moved over to Deku and gave him a hug to help. The whole time Deku never let go of my hand.

Shoto and Deku looked at each and then back to me. Shoto was the one to speak, his voice was calm and I could tell he was about to hit me with something big.

"We are your mates, We have both marked you. You are now ours as we are yours"

I felt my cheeks start to flush and thought what does he mean by mates and marked. I could feel the back of neck starting to sting and heat up at his words and knew in that instance that my life had change forever.
