I waited but he never came..

"Aaaah!" was my screams of agony as the nurse's rushed me inside the hospital.

'I'm not supposed to have this baby, now!' I thought sweat forming on my forehead.

"Sasha breath.. ok" Layla told me trying to reassure me. I was on a wheelchair being rushed into the hospital room.

"I freaking know that! Ugh!" I yelled in pain. We reached the room and the nurse's informed Layla and Miguel to wait in the waiting room.

"Wait!" I grabbed the nurse's arm." Let..the man..ugh..in" I told her which she nodded.

They placed me on the bed and got everything ready while I was suppressing the urge to just push out the baby already.

"Hey" said a soothing deep voice next to me. I turned my head and saw Miguel. He took a hold of my hand and gave a reassuring squeeze.

"Ok Miss you will have to give a strong push" ordered the doctor through a mask on his face.

I nodded and gulped. I squeezed Miguel's hand.

"1,2,3 Push!"

"Aaaaaah!" I screamed. I felt like my insides are about to rip open, no like I have a broken bone! I squeezed Miguel's hand tightly.

"Ok. 1,2,3 Push!"

"Aaaaaah!" I screamed again while Miguel was whispering reassuring things.

"Ok. I see the baby. Now 1,2,3 Push!"

"Aaaaaah!" I screamed. I really felt like I should just give up but I knew that it would endanger me and my baby.

After five more pushes the baby seems to not want to come out, even though they could see the head. It felt like hours that I was trying to push this stubborn baby!

"Ok! One more Push!" the doctor finally said for the 10'th time.

"I...give...up" I said getting exhausted.

Miguel squeezed my hand. "Remember this is for your baby.. don't give up, I am right here" he whispered.

This gave me a boost so I gave my strongest push. "Aaaaaaaaah!"

At last I heard the cry of a baby. "Waaaaah!"

"Congratulations Mrs and Mr! It's a baby girl" a nurse said and handed the baby girl to Miguel. Miguel walked next to me and gave me the baby.

I cried tears of joy, although I was terribly exhausted, I felt great happiness.

'I can't believe I gave birth to a life'

"What will her name be?" Miguel asked. I turned my gaze to meet his. I gave an exhausted big smile and handed him the baby.

He was confused as to why I did that but I knew why. With my remaining strength I said "Mia, an M like yours" and passed out. The heart monitor went still.

"Beeeeeep"

I fluttered my tired eyes open and was met with a pair of rare silver eyes. "M..Miguel?" I whispered.

"You're awake." Miguel smiled and tightly hugged me. This caught me completely off guard and I heavily blushed. I melted in his embrace and hugged him back. He suddenly pulled back and

I saw a relief expression, but it turned unreadable again.

That was when Layla came barging through the door. "Sasha!" she cried and gave me a bear hug

I was getting confused. "What happened?" I asked Miguel. He sighed" Well after you passed out, your heart ...stopped but..they were able bring it back to normal. Your daughter is healthy, though premature, if you want to ask." he explained and gave a strain smile. I nodded understanding.

'I can't believe I almost died!'

Layla sniffed and excused herself because she had to head to work but promised to visit me.

It was just me and Miguel. There was silence between us.

"Do you know when I can see her?" I asked breaking the silence.

On that moment Miguel received a call. He stood up and answered the call at a corner. Miguel for the first time, expression looked depressed but it quickly turned to a stoic expression. He hanged up and sat next to my bed and answered.

"She is premature so they have to make sure everything is stable. By tomorrow you will probably see her. Now.." he came dangerously close to me and gave me a kiss on my forehead. "rest and I...will see you... tomorrow" he whispered, strangely, sounding uncertain. I blushed by the kiss.

I nodded happily, slept for a long time and waited for tomorrow to come.

The next day I was able to see my baby like he told me would happen. My baby was so small and cute. Layla visited me with lots of gifts but...

Miguel never came, so I waited...

And waited...

And waited...

Until two days later, I was discharged but not my baby yet..

A month passed and I was able to bring my child home.

"I'm sure he'll come" reassured Layla every time. I nodded believing her but..

I waited...

I waited..

And waited...but he never came.
