Old friend (2)

My eyes widened when I saw Rihanna. It was.. unexpected I must say.

'Why are the people in my past life I'm seeing now. First Alex, then father and now Rihanna. Alex I don't mind but her..' I thought bitterly.

To think she would be one of the guest's in the hotel but I'm glad someone like her vouched for me, otherwise I would be fired for sure. She changed in the past few years. She looked and walked elegantly like she was a princess. Her once short hair grew until her mid-back, her eyes were dimmer than usual and she developed exposing curves.

'I wonder if she is the same Rihanna I knew. Definitely not' I thought bitterly.

Cleo stammered once she realised a person like Rihanna was helping me. "A-Are y-y-ou sure she is innocent?" she asked acting like a scared mouse.

"Lies! You are telling nothing but lies!" yelled Gried still in pain.

Rihanna completely ignored him, walked towards me and smiled. I won't lie, I am grateful she is helping me but I am independent, I was a bit annoyed because I hate depending on someone.

"I am not spouting a lie! I can't believe such a hotel is harbouring a man that tried to harrass a poor employee." she looked at Cleo coldly "You should investigate and look at the footage in the Hotel. What he did is a sexual assault which is a crime" she said matter of factly.

The crowd mumbled showing their disgust while Gried shook in fear. Just when he was about to limp away a guard grabbed him.

Cleo, trying to impress Rihanna said. "Bring him to the police and I will collect the footage" she gave a nervous smile to Rihanna and went to do her job. Before she went she bore daggers behind my back, angry that Rihanna seems close to me but also confused as to how.

Once the crowd decreased upset that they were woken up in the night, Rihanna and I were left alone.

I stared at her with an indifferent expression. "Thank you for helping me Mam. I will be on my way" I said politely and was about to turn my heels but got stopped, when a hand gripped my wrist.

"Sasha...Can we have a talk in my room." I blinked thrice. "Please. I just want to know how you are doing." I sighed and nodded.

Her room as expected was spacious and looked expensive. She gestured for me to sit but I insisted to stand up.

I spoke up first. "Listen to what I have to say first. I won't say I'm not happy to see you again, but I didn't want to see you, because everyone in my past life is not welcome, except a certain person. I am grateful for what you did for me back then but I am independent, so I don't need your friendship, money, pity and help." I said bluntly and got to the point. I know it sounds harsh but I don't need someonelse in my past, in my present life.

Unexpectedly, Rihanna eyes began to tear up. "I... know that. I am happy to see you again.

I'm...sorry for not even.. visiting you once."

I gave a fake smile. "It's fine. You did help me remember, back then. But from now on I am a worker and you are a guest." I clarified and walked away.

"Wait!" Rihanna stopped me once again, from opening the door.

"What?" I asked.

"How is your child doing? What gender is she? How does she look and her name?" she asked with a rather stoic expression. I raised my brow confused. "Why are you asking so much questions?" she averted her gaze from mine and cleared her throat. Now that we are alone I noticed she isn't emmiting a aria of elegance.

'So she puts a mask in front of people. Hmmm, is she a pretender or a hypocrite or a fake?' I thought confused.

"Well I just want to know. I want to know how my friend is doing along with her child. I would love to meet your child, if you don't mind...and also I want to know about you too before we go back as stranger's" she explained rather hurriedly.

I frowned confused as to why she said the last part nervously. "Her name is Angela. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. I live at the same apartment even though this job is very far. We are doing fine. Also not to sound too rude, I don't want you to see her..for now" I answered and left, not before I heard a scribble of someone writing something.

I shook my head not at all disappointed. "Talk about suspicious." I muttered. Now I don't feel bad about lying to her.

'Why did she asks those questions and for what reasons. To be my friend? Well I don't care' I thought and went back to my desk.

On my way I received glares, envy and relief from my co-workers. Glares because they were hoping for me to get fired. Envy because The Rihanna backed me up. Relief because they knew it was unfair for me to get fired and the pervert Gried won't stay here anymore.

I gave all of them a fake smile except for the chef, who I gave a real one. He apologized frequently because he felt guilty but I reassured him it wasn't his fault.

After I was done with my shift I greeted Alex who was waiting for me at his car. It became a habit of his to pick me up after my night shift.

"Hop in" he smiled and entered the car. I smiled in return but saw a beautiful full moon in the sky.

I closed my eyes breathing in the cold wind.

'People can disappoint me, hate me, lie to me and use me but for my Mia..I don't mind' I thought

happily and entered the car.

I didn't notice a flash of light not to far away from me. Behind a car was a man with a grin on his face holding a camera.

"I hit the jackpot" he whispered.
