Misunderstanding

I woke up when my alarm rang and I felt really tired. Yesterday was another encounter with my past life. I didn't expect to see Rihanna at the hotel, since I don't remember her registering in my reception desk. Ever since I had to pay for Mia's fees, I've been working afternoon and night shifts. Add to the fact, why is she staying at a hotel far from home. I was pondering these thoughts on my head but got rid of it, I realised it's not my business. Rihanna has her own life and I have mine. Today was Saterday so I didn't have to go to work today or see Rihanna.

Mia was sleeping so I did my morning routines and went downstairs to make breakfast.

'I should invite Alex' I thought since Alex loved eating my food. I felt my heart skip a beat, a little.

After I placed the food on the table, I called Mia downstairs. After a few minutes the sleepy Mia came walking to me. "Breakfast mommy?" she asked rubbing her arm on her eyes.

I smiled at her cuteness. I placed her on her seat and told her I would call Uncle to eat with us.

"Ok mommy!" she replied and began to eat. I chuckled at her reply and left, locking the door behind me. I did say I was a paranoid mother.

I knocked at Alex's door but he didn't open. I shuffled through my pocket and took out a key. Alex gave it to me, saying I could use it at anytime. I was reluctant because it was his home but took it anyway.

Once I closed the door behind me, I looked around his home. It was clean and emmited a comfortable aura. There were lots of trophy's around, expressing his achievements. I felt a bitter feeling rising in the pit of my stomach.

'I have no achievements' I thought feeling sad. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear light footsteps behind me.

"What should I do today, maybe- Sasha!" exclaimed Alex shocked. When I heard my name I quickly turned my body around and embarrassingly regretted it. My body collided with Alex's. It seems the trophy shelves was close to the room Alex just walked out off, and because we were both not paying attention, we bumped into each other.

I wouldn't be embarrassed beacause of bumping into him, but I was embarrassed because Alex only had a towel around his torso. His hair was wet so he just got out of the shower.

I yelped at the impact and slipped moving backwards but an arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me upright. I was able to gain my balance but I caught my breath. When Alex wrapped his arm around my waist he accidentally pulled me towards him, too close I must add. Our faces was two-inches away from each other, that I could feel his minty breath. I unconsciously placed my arm on his chest but quickly came to a realisation.

'This happened with him too' I thought and a forgettable memory resurfaced my mind but I got rid of it. 'Leo was a mistake and Miguel never had feelings for me.' I thought bitterly.

"I-I'm sorry" I apologized, retreated my hand and quickly walked to the living room. I was in such a daze that I didn't notice I went further in the house resulting in this misunderstanding. I didn't pick up that Alex's ear was red including his cheeks when I walked away.

I sat on the couch and played with my fingers. I was waiting for Alex, so I could properly apologize and to quickly go to Mia, to see if she is fine. I stared at the hand I placed on his chest. I didn't miss the way his toned chest felt beneath my fingers.

I blushed and shook my head vigorously.

'Sasha that's disgusting! He is family plus..I promised to myself to never involve myself with a man.' I thought with a frown.

I heard a person clear it's throat. I turned my head slowly and met Alex's hazel eyes. His hair was a bit damp which added to his handsomeness.

"Oh! Umm...sorry about what happened. I used the keys you gave me and came inside the house. I wanted to invite you to have breakfast and spend the day with Mia and I." I explained.

He nodded and gave a bright smile. "Sure that's alright. It was only a misunderstanding."

I returned it with a strain smile. "Yeah, it was just a misunderstanding plus we are family, right?"

Alex had a certain emotion in his eyes but as soon as it came, it went away. "Right"

I nodded and we both made our way to my house. Mia greeted Alex with a big hug. "Uncle are you going with me and mommy to an outing?" asked Mia with happiness in her eyes. Alex looked at me and our eyes met for a moment until he averted his gaze.

"Of course. he told her. Mia gave him a big smile, took my hand and brought me to her room to help her get change.

After she was done, I packed some things for her and we were prepared to go.

We went out off the house together and were planning to use Alex's car.

"You guys look like you will have fun today" said our next door neighbour, who is an old woman.

"Yes we will! Mommy promised me she will take me to my favourite place!" Mia said.

As Mia was talking to the old woman and I was telling Alex where the outing will be, there was a man not to far away, behind a tree.

He chuckled and took his camera that created a flash of light. "This is quite interesting" he whispered.
