Their eyes and their whispers (2)

I slammed Cleo's phone on her chest. "Well this revolting girl they call it, will show them!" I proclaimed at everyone in the kitchen. I pushed my way through the crowd and began to walk to a certain woman's room. My brows furrowed with a frown on my face.

I knocked on Rihanna's door harshly. I felt like I was ready to explode. I was quite relieved that I didn't pass anyone on my way, because I knew what they would say.

"I told you I am done!.." Rihanna stopped from her outburst when she came face to face with me.

I gave her an evil smirk and asked sweetly. "What do you mean you are done, Rihanna dear?" I tilted my head.

Rihanna stammered."S-S-Sasha it's you. I-I heard the news ....and I-I'm sorry"

I studied her expression very pissed. I placed my hand on the door and pushed it open, entering myself in her room.

I twirled the lock of my hair, my old self taking over. "Rihanna why are you so nervous? Is there something you want to tell me?" I asked and narrowed my eyes.

Rihanna bit her lip. "I-I-..of course not. I-"

I cut her off by slamming the door closed, so we wouldn't be disturbed. Now this ticking time bomb can now blow up.

"Are you going to lie right in front of my face! I saw you talking to a man with a camera on his hand! Can it be coincental that I saw you talking to a guy, who was obviously a reporter and the headlines was posted! Is that why you asked so many questions! Did you have someone follow me! Huh! What are you going to say, you fool!" I yelled.

Rihanna flinched at my harsh words and tears escaped her eyes. This action pissed me off more. "Don't give me those crocodile tears. Open your mouth or are you mute!"

She breathed in and out shaking. "I'm sorry it wasn't my attention to do this to you! The reason I asked you, was because this reporter guy was blackmailing me to give info of you, when he saw you working here and he recognised you. He is the only one that knows why I am staying here and about my secret, which I can't tell you..." I gestured for her to continue. "I-I knew where you lived all along because when I was forced to find info about you, I asked that woman called Cleo. I realised my mistake when I told him and I felt guilty for betraying my best friend. I-I tried to stop him but I was too late. I'm sorry" she sobbed and took a hold of my hand but I slapped it away.

I processed everything she told me and was filled with rage. "That is ex-bestfriend to you! I don't want your lousy excuses because it won't change anything!" my voice quietened down. "I worked so hard to prevent my child from being branded and gossiped about. We had a quiet and peaceful life until you showed up and opened your damm mouth!" I walked out of the door and gave her a glare. "If looks could kill, you would be dead right now." I said and slammed the door behind me.

Rihanna crouched on the floor crying. "I'm sorry for hurting you like everyone else" she whispered.

I felt so many emotions today. Regret, sadness, hatred and disgust. I was right when I thought that she was no longer the Rihanna I knew. The old one would never betray me like this when it would cost me so much. I'm extremely nervous of what people will say about my child, and how my child will think if she heard about the rumours.

Reluctantly, I did my morning shift and was not spared with the eyes and whisperes both guest and employees gave me.

I sighed in relief when my shift was over. I quickly packed my things and left the hotel not bothering to look back. Before I went, Chef Ronald, the kind man he is, gave me a wig and glasses to wear for a disguise.

I called a cab too drive me, to my daughter school to fetch her. Thoughts of how my daughter was doing clouded my mind and how Alex is going to react, once he knows that his family will know about him being back.

Once I reached the gate Mia gave me a big hug. Not wasting time from people's watchful eyes, we got in the cab and drove back home. The drive was quiet on our way home. When I opened the door and took off my disguise, I gestured for Mia to sit next to me on the couch.

I wanted Mia to hear the news from me before someone gossips it in front of her. I hated hiding things from her even though she is still very young, but so was I.

"Mia.." I began. "Mommy will tell you something concerning us so listen." she nodded. "Today a bad man posted false reports about mommy and called mommy hurtful things which is a lie. People will whisper bad things about us which is also not true." she nodded. "Mommy's family doesn't want mommy or you Mia, they don't like us. So whenever someone says bad things about you, don't take it to your heart. I wish I could tell you the whole story but-"

Surprisingly Mia cut me off "I know already mommy" she said quietly.

My heart sank at the thought off her already hearing the news before I could tell her.

She shook her head as if she knew what I was thinking. She placed herself on my lap and said.

"Mia always knew the truth. Mia..I already knew because I watched the videos of grandpa and read the news about you, without your permission. That is why, without you noticing I was upset and asked you, if grandpa loves you. Mommy I always knew" she said with eyes and word's that didn't look or sound like a child.

"Oh..." was my only reply.
