"Oh, wow umm..." was the only reply I could give to Mia. Mia explained to me how she wanted to know about my father so she did some research. She found my documents which had my family's name and father's, so she was able to search about him. Since then, she has been watching videos and pictures of my family, and pictures that used to have me in them.
"I'm sorry, mommy. I was just curious, I'm sorry." Mia said tears spilling from her eyes.
'How does she turn from talking like a adult and now like a child?'
I wiped away her tears gently. "Don't cry Mia. You didn't do anything wrong, you were just curious. Next time ask mommy if you want to know about something. Ok?" I said which she nodded.
"Ok mom. To apologize I will go bring you juice!" she said happily. She practically skipped to the kitchen while humming.
I sighed perplexed. Mia has always been different from the rest of her friends. I only realised my child was different when her teacher told me.
~~Flashback
I was in a meeting with Mrs Parker. She was a red haired woman in her late twenties, she was the teacher for my Mia.
"Is there a reason you planned this meeting, Mrs Parker?" I asked confused. My hair was tied in a high ponytail, I wore black jeans and a v-neck black shirt. I carried a long black bag that was around my arm and applied very light make up.
"Yes actually. It is regarding your child, Mia" I nodded still confused. " I have been studying your child and realised she may be one of those many gifted children." she said.
"What did she do to give you this idea?" I asked shocked.
Mrs Parker looked through her papers. "Well first she has big vocabulary, her reading skills are already in a high level, She has a good memory, she is good at patterns and puzzles, is very curious and plays the violin, which I gave her to play, very well. That is my deduction." she explained.
I thought carefully of what she said. It was true that Mia did all those things, but I never payed attention to that because, I just thought my child was smart.
"So what do you propose?" I asked.
"Well I think that since she is turning 5, she should start grade 2 because of her level. Then once her intelligent greatly increases, she should start grade 5. If she gets smarter than that, then she needs to be in a school with intelligent people, in her level." she replied.
I immediately shook my head. "My child may be gifted as you say, but I don't want her to miss out on studying normally like other kids. She will feel weird and insecure with studying with people older than her."
"But-"
I cut her off. I replied furiously. "My child will live a life normally and as a mother that's final"
Mrs Parker reluctantly agreed. "Ok. But if you reconsider, your daughters intelligence will greatly increase."
I nodded. "Ok"
~~End of Flashback
I sighed at the memory. "Even if I want to, I can't possibly afford that kind of education." I muttered.
I received a call on my phone and answered. I heard Alex's voice on the line.
"Sasha I read the news. Are you okay?" he asked worried. I smiled, happy that he cares.
"I'm fine, I just got looks and whispers. I'm more worried about you. What will happen once your Father reads the news and founds out you're back?" I asked worried.
He just chuckled. "Well guess what, the old man already knows and a minute ago came barging into my workplace. He wanted to talk to me but I refused." he said the last sentence rather coldly.
"Why?" I asked confused.
"Just for certain reasons...Anyway he left a note for me to meet him at a grand party.. including you"
I raised my brow confused. "Now why would he include me?" I asked.
"I don't know but I think it's a bad idea to go. Once I'm done with my work, I'll come over. Sounds good?"
I replied okay and hanged up.
Suddenly a sound of a doorbell rang. I opened the door and met no one. I searched left and right, but didn't see anyone. I looked at my feet and found a letter. I picked it up. 'What is this?' I thought wary.
I opened it and read the consent.
My rosy cheeks lost its colour and I gulped.
It read:
I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU, YOU WON'T RETURN.
IF YOU DON'T OBEY, YOUR DARLING CHILD WILL GET IT.
REMEMBER I AM WATCHING.
FROM:....
'Ugh! Damm it! Why is my peaceful life for 3 years be ruined!' I thought furious.
'Can't I live in peace' I thought feeling bitter.
It seems bad luck is back..
