You have a deal

"Well you see...I need your help." Rihanna said as she interwined her fingers.

I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes. "What do you want in exchange to help me? C'mon spill it, I'm waiting. I don't got all day" I said rudely.

Rihanna turned her head left and right and then grabbed my arm. "I can't say it here. let's talk it out in my room" she whispered and dragged me into her room.

"Ok-Ok-ok, stop dragging me! Now get to the point. What do you want?" I asked and rubbed my sore arm. We were now inside Rihanna's room and Rihanna was walking back and forth.

She stopped and breathed in and out. "Ok first let me explain something. You are probably wondering why I am living in the hotel far from home, I am-"

I interrupted her. "I don't care of your crappy life nor do I want to hear it. Get to the point. What do you really want in exchange?" I said with a neutral expression.

Rihanna gave a dry chuckle and sat on her bed. "Well I will tell you anyway" I rolled my eyes. "I.. actually am having an disagreement with my father. I...no...my father arranged a marriage proposal with a well known family to boost his wealth. You already know how he loves his wealth and image" I nodded uninterested "I was very upset that he did it without my consent so I basically left."

"How come he isn't searching for you?" I asked curious.

"Well because I convinced him that I would not do anything crazy and that I wanted to live by myself to think about the marriage." she explained sort of in a daze.

"Now how am I supposed to help you exactly? Also I remember you told me the reporter is blackmailing you? Did you do something crazy?" I asked and waited to see her expression.

Surprisingly her face turned to anxious to neutral. "About the reporter is my business. Now about the help I just need you to..." she trailed.

"To what?" I asked impatient.

"To pretend that you are engaged with this powerful man and for you to convince my father that you will give him a business deal, in exchange for him to decline the marriage." she sputtered quickly.

I blinked once, twice and thrice. "Are you stupid!" I yelled angry.

"No listen-"

"What kind of absurd plan is that! Do you think that will actually work!"

"I-"

"No listen! Did you forget that I work in a hotel, live in a normal home and have a child! If I was married to a powerful man, I wouldn't be working, living in a normal home and everyone would of course know about it!" I yelled angry. 'I can't believe how stupid her plan is'

"Listen to what I have to say first, ok?"

I sighed and sat on a nearby seat. 'Maybe I should just get back to work'

"Listen these days many rich men hide their engagement especially when it's a person not on their calibre. You will just be pretending and I have a guy in mind, who owes me, that will pretend he is engaged to you. Plus you are the type of woman to work and live by herself to hide your secret for your love"

"Why can't you just pretend that you will be with the guy instead and did you forget I have a child" I said annoyed.

"No it won't work. Plus the guy... nevermind that, it just won't work. And your child, you can just pretend that the person that got you pregnant was him and that you didn't want to embarrass his family so..you told no one but me, him and his family. No one knows who the father of your child is anyway and you can pretend that his family wanted to prevent a greater scandal. My Father can be very discreet and won't tell anyone as long as he gets more wealthy."

I gave her a disgusted look. 'Is this woman really serious? I think she should analysis her brain to see if it is not fried. I have a life and a child and she wants me to pretend I am engaged with a stranger and that he is the father of my girl. For what, just to doll myself up for one night. What happens if her father tells and everyone thinks it's true? Is asking for this backstabber help even worth it?' I thought.

I looked at her and saw a girl who was anxious for my reply. 'She really doesn't want marry someone for convenience and have to be with him for the rest of her life, huh. She was my dear friend and she did help me when I needed it. I guess this will be the last time I involve myself in her life and take her help.'

After a moment of silence I replied. "Fine I agree."

Her eyes twinkled. "Oh thank you so-"

I raised my hand to silence her. "But after the party and the guy makes the business deal with your father, for whatever you did for him to owe you like this, I want you to pack your things and leave the hotel. I don't want to see you ever again. Are we clear? Deal?" I said.

Rihanna looked down and her hair bangs covered her eyes. "Sure...you have a deal" she replied.

"Good" I said and left her room.

'Lets see if I will regret this or not.'
