I yawned, my eyes feeling watery. "Had a rough night?" asked the chef. It was the afternoon and I was on my 30 minute break.
"Yeah the event I attended was nice and I got to rekindle with my uncle." I told the chef, missing out on some details.
He was busy cooking ingredients that made a delicious aroma smell. I was aching to eat it but knew the food wasn't meant for me. "So what was the purpose of the event?" he asked as he was chopping a bunch of onions.
I stretched my arms and placed my head on the counter. " It was a charity for homeless people, where they were meant to put in money for them. It may be that kind of pure and good event, but they were acting like snobs, of who would put in the most amount, to show their riches not feeling like they were doing it to genuinely help." I said in disgust.
'I can't believe I was once those kind of snobs
... was I?'
I stood up and patted my uniform. "Well chef since I'm on my break, I better fetch Mia and drop her home before it's over" I said and waved him goodbye.
I called a cab and drove to fetch Mia.

When I entered the schools premises I saw Mia talking to Alex. "Alex!" I called out to him.
"Oh, Hey Sasha." he said and gave me a brief hug.
"Hmmm, what are you doing here? I thought you were too busy with your work to fetch Mia?" I asked him a bit confused.
He gave me a bright smile and then ruffled Mia's hair. "Well guess what?, we were able to find that bastard criminal thanks to a key witness and clues that were uncovered. Now that we have him, our investigation is over and everything is now in the polices hand. Everyone in my department congratulated me because it was thanks to me, I was able to convince the witness to speak up and I found most of the clues." he said and puffed his chest very happy.
"Well look at that Mia, uncle did a great job in his work. This is what happens when you work hard." I told Mia.
"I understand mommy. You will get nothing in life if you just sit around being lazy." Mia said in her serious tone.
Alex whistled. "Nice"
I giggled and hit his shoulder. "Well since you did an excellent job at your work, once I'm done with my shift I will take you out to dinner."
Alex eyes twinkled. "Mia will come along too, right Mia." Alex's twinkle soon went away and he looked like water bucket fell on him.
"I'm joking about bringing Mia to the dinner." he then smiled." Actually let's head out to eat right now since I am hungry." I said which both Alex and Mia nodded.
We went to a fast food restaurant and took our order. Mia was happily munching on her food while Alex and I talked.
"So who was the man you danced with?" Alex asked for the 15th time since last night.
I rolled my eyes. "For the last time ALEX, that was just a random stranger who asked me to dance" I said tired of explaining myself.
"Yeah but-"
"Don't tell me you are jealous." I joked with a smirk on my face.
His face turned crimson. "Of course not! How can I be jealous of you dancing with another man! You are my c-cousin" he exclaimed.
I giggled and patted his arm. "Ok-Ok-ok Yeesh, don't make a big deal about it I was just joking. C'mon we are family but you can get jealous here and there, since I am gorgeous. Lots of men are flaunting over me" I said teasingly.
Alex frowned not liking the last sentence.
I noticed his expression and raised my brow. "What's up with that frown? Remove it, you look like a grumpy old man. Anyway I got to go back to work now so bring Mia back home. Bye Mia" I said and gave her a kiss on her cheeks.
"Bye mommy!" she said and waved her hands.
"Grumpy old man seriously." Alex mumbled and frowned once again.

Once I got back to the hotel I immediately started with my work. Unfortunately my mind started to drift to the pair of sliver eyes male. I was reliving the memories of how it felt to dance with him, to touch him and to stare at his eyes. If only I-
I immediately got rid of these thoughts. 'What am I thinking? Did I forget that he left me for 4 years not being true to his words! He is just handsome and that is all! But...the way he-...No! I won't think about him anymore! He is only a stranger, nothing less and nothing more.' My heart, the one who thought about him, and my mind, who detested him, were battling it out with love and hatred, logic with illogic.
"Umm..hello." said a timid voice. I got out of my trance when I met a young petite girl. She had black feathered hair, brown eyes and was short. She looked to be 18 years or younger. She was the new employee in the hotel and was dealing with assisting the guests to their rooms.
"Yes how may I help you?" I asked in a polite voice. She fidgeted a bit but then composed herself. "Are you Sasha Amelia Johnson?" she asked.
I twitched my eyes annoyed. 'Is this girl looking for trouble or does she just want to ask me a normal question.'
I sighed. "I am Sasha Amelia, no Johnson added. Now what do you want? You are wasting my time." I said rudely, annoyance evident in my face. I was thinking she would ask me about my past.
The girl gulped and handed me a box. "I-I-I'm sor-sorry. I w-wanted to gi-give you this box. I-I found i-t on t-the d-desk so took it, to k-keep until you came back." she stuttered.
I gave her a strain smile. "Oh thank you. Sorry for being rude earlier. Thank you once again and sorry." I said which she nodded and left hurriedly.
I sighed and shook my head. 'Poor girl, I scared her off.'
I looked at the box and shook it wanting to hear any sounds but heard none. I timidly opened it but found only a letter.
"Don't tell me." I muttered guessing what it would say.
It was written:
Dear darling princess
I hope you got this letter. I warned you of not getting involved with the Johnson's otherwise you and your daughter will get it. It seems I will let my actions speak louder than my words.
Remember you were warned..
I crumpled the paper in my hand in anger.
'Whoever sent this letter I will make them pay!'
