Treasure Hunting
In the forests near Glory City,
in the forest, one could see a young boy of 8 years of age with long shaggy hair and fighter clothes and a girl who was of the same age with ginger hair and brown eyes. The two of them were sitting on a few rocks as they continued to argue.
"As I said Ning'er, I will not be going to the Holy Orchid Institute even if they have the biggest collection of Inscriptions available in th city," the boy said.
"But Broly, you are already so strong even though you are my age, if you were to join the institute you will definitely be put in the genius class and will be given a lot of resources and knowledge to grow stronger," Ning'er said heatedly as Broly shook his head.
It had been two years since I had met Ning'er in that hunting grounds of the institute, at first, she was very terrified of my appearance and refused to talk to me, but soon enough, she overcame her fear and started to try and visit me as much as possible and eventually, we had become best friends.
Ever since she told me her name, I had already remembered who she was in the Manhua from my previous world, but frankly, I did not care if I knew a lot about her, after all, this is not some story, this is a world with real people, not characters, besides, I am pretty sure that I have already changed the original version of the story already.
It was a year after we met, she had begun to cultivate using her family's cultivation techniques and I was immediately reminded of her future disease, so I asked Ning'er to show me her technique which she happily obliged, it was then that I found another thing about my new circumstances.

This was the message I had seen on that day and I instinctively knew that the Soul Cube was most probably that red cube I had seen before I passed away.
I had of course repaired her cultivation technique, even though it did not raise in ranks, now there was absolutely no chance for Nin'ger to have that frost disease or whatever it was called. And now that Ning'er does not go to the hunting grounds in the Orchid Institute, there was absolutely no way that she would meet that old man Nei Li, and that is something I completely approve of.
It's not that I hate Nei Li or anything, it's just that the way he manipulates every one around him just feels wrong to me, he was even willing to manipulate the girls that he claims to be in love with, and that is something I will definitely not approve off, although it has nothing to do with me anyway, soon enough, I will be gone from Glory City and continue to get stronger and reach the full potential of this Saiyan body in the safety of this world, I know that there was supposed to be a seal on this world that did not allow for one to progress beyond the legend rank unless they were some kind of a god, it does not affect me because I do not cultivate Soul Force, I use KI.
Ever since I found out that I had some kind of a system, I had been going through many trials and errors and have managed to find out many things about what is happening.
1. what I had was definitely not a system, it was some kind of an interface, true, but what it was interfacing with was not a system but the Soul Cube itself.
2. The Soul Cube is some kind of a powerful artifact from my world and has in it millions upon millions of cultivation techniques, movement techniques, blacksmithing skills, alchemy skills, books on science, magic techniques, soul cultivation techniques, KI cultivation techniques, zen qi cultivations techniques and so on, arranged in a neat fashion on bookshelves, it would seem that this thing had every kind of cultivation technique imaginable, even if they belonged to different dimensions and whatnot, however, I was still not strong enough to access most of these books, I could only access Soul cultivation techniques, inscription techniques, blacksmithing skills, and alchemy skills. All of these techniques are completely useless to me as of now because of the fact that I cultivate KI and not Soul Force.
3. I am capable of using the interface to analyze and repair as well as upgrade techniques I come in contact with. I had used this function to repair Ning'er's cultivation technique and recently, I had even upgraded it by combining and refining the technique with many other similar techniques in the Soul Cube. she now cultivated an unnamed technique that was most probably much more powerful than the technique that Nei Li had given her in the story. I had no intention to allow that girl that I have come to care for like a sister to be targetted by that old man in a young body.
Ever since I discovered the functions and abilities of the Soul Cube, I had immediately started to infiltrate every family in Glory City at night times and have been going through their libraries to search for more techniques for me to study and analyze. Thanks to the fact that I do not cultivate Soul Force and my stealth skills, I was easily able to infiltrate most of the families in Glory City, the only families I was not able to infiltrate were the City Lord's family and the Divine family, two of the three top families in Glory City.
"Ning'er, you have to understand that even if I am strong enough to defeat a Legend rank as I am right now, I will still not be viewed with respect in this foolish city due to the fact that I do not use Soul Force, they will never give me any respect nor will they ever accept me as one of them, so it would be better for you to concentrate on your own cultivation and not on how to try and integrate me in the city," I said as the girl pouted and looked down with small tears in her eyes.
This was another thing that had changed, ever since she came to know about the fact that I am most probably as strong as a Legend rank fighter, she had been adamant on making me rejoin the city and bring me back to it, granted it was mostly just for her own selfish reasons which involved having me in the city so that she can visit me every day without worrying her family, she had also wanted for me to gain fame and respect from the city because of my strength, sadly, the girl was still not old enough to understand the vile and selfish nature of human beings as well as their bias against those that do not follow what they consider the norm.
I sighed and put my hand on her head and consoled the depressed girl.
"Ning'er, I truly do not care for what this city thinks of me or how they view me, I do not even need them for my continued survival and neither do I need the fame that they would give me, so don't try so hard to try and integrate me with this city, besides, if I were to join the city, then I will most definitely not be able to see you as regularly as now, you don't want that to happen do you?" I said teasingly as the 8-year-old girl went stiff at the prospect of not seeing me so often, before I knew it she had jumped into my arms and started to shout.
"NO!!, you will not join the city, I will not allow you to join the city, never!!!" she shouted before burying her head in my chest as I laughed loudly.
truly, this girl was just so easy to tease and so innocent, heh, I guess I will be a lot more busy beating up some random young masters from some stupid families who come after her in a few years.
Well, before that, I need to start acquiring some money to buy some necessities and to get Ning'er some stronger demon beast spirits, and what better place to find some treasure if not the ruins of an ancient city?.
